"I found a place for my dad, and it's called Lanier Place. The staff is incredible. If I could give them 10 stars, I would give them 10 stars. They're that good. They just make you feel like your family member is safe and you don't have to worry about them in their hands. It's like a very big family dynamic. They treat everyone equally and everyone is like family. It's just amazing. My dad has been there for six weeks now. He is there for regular assisted living. He does get medication management because of possible dementia, but right now, he is in assisted living. His room is great. It's a smaller apartment, and it's the lower income kind of part of the facility, but his apartment is good. It's perfect for him. It's easy for him to access everything, so it's really good. And it's right across from the courtyard; he loves to walk. My dad loves the food. It's delicious. It's like you're at a restaurant. It's very good. For activities, they walk with them and they have an ice cream social. They'll take them wherever they need to go like to doctor's appointments and outings. I remember one time I walked in and they asked them what activities they like and what they like to do. One was like, 'I want to go fishing,' and they were like, 'We can try and work that out.' So they want to do as much with them and make them happy."

"I was very impressed with Oaks at Post Road. I like the place, I like the facility that I saw, and I like the rooms that they had available. The people I talked with, I got a lot of information from them. So they're still in consideration for me. Talking with the staff that I saw, or nurses, they seemed like they knew what they were doing. They said they have ways to work with doctors, they have certain doctors come on-site if you need them. So it just seems like a well-run place, from what I can tell, and I was there for just an hour."

"We chose Towne Club Windermere. What they did was they took a ground floor apartment and turned it into an office, and that office is a regular apartment. That's the same apartment that we're renting, and there are four stories above it. They have a library, a pool, and an exercise or workout room. The staff is very accommodating."

"I went to Oaks at Shiloh Point. It was very small, and it only had 35 beds. They had lots of activities. The person I was supposed to meet with was not there, so I was shown around by a very nice maintenance. It wasn't as expensive as some of the other ones, but it was old. Laundry was not included, too. They have studios and small one-bedrooms. The staff was nice, and he was knowledgeable because, at one point in time, he had owned some of these independent living and assisted living places, so I felt he was knowledgeable."

"I toured the Regency House of Buford. Everyone we met was very accommodating and very personable. The person we talked to was very good. They showed us the whole thing. They showed us where they eat and where they have activities. They showed us their apartments. It was a very positive one. We saw the studio and one-bedroom apartments. They have a calendar full of activities. All of them were the same. They all have morning devotions and exercises at 10:00 a.m.. They go out for lunch once a month or once a week, something like that. It was well-maintained, and the staff was very helpful."

"My mother lives at Wisdom Well Living. Finally I have peace of mind knowing that she is taken care of. They spend quality time with each resident and since it is a small facility that makes it possible. It is kept neat and clean and all of the meals are delicious. It is obvious with the care they give that Beatrice and David are passionate about their care giving. I would highly recommend Wisdom Well Living if you are looking for care for your loved one. "

"Brookdale South Lee Buford has cottages with meals provided, and in addition to that, they have assisted living and memory care that are in a separate building. The cottages are about 1800 square feet, and each is like a separate little house. They have 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, 2 baths, and an inside garage. What we didn't like about it was that the cottages are in a circle surrounding a building in the center -- which is where you had to go to get your meals -- and to leave one building and go across to a separate building to get your meals is not something we preferred. It's reasonable and a little cheaper than most any other place we have looked at. "

"We chose Dahlonega Assisted Living and Memory Care for my mom because of its proximity to my house. The facility was nice and clean. It seemed like there was adequate staffing. The rooms were a nice size. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. The dining area was very nice and clean. There were a lot of menu options. If the residents don't want to eat what's on the menu, they can fix things. They have a big television room and a game room. They have outings."

"My brother is already at the Evergreen Terrace. The place is clean, the staff is very caring, and they seem to be very helpful to the patients. They try to know each patient and they've had the same help for a long time. He shares a room with another resident. It's a large room and you can use their furniture, and you can have your own refrigerator, if you like. It's not elaborately furnished or anything, but you decorate pretty much as you like and make it feel like it's yours. The food is good. "

"I visited Tanglewood and was amazed at how clean it was. The staff and owners appeared genuinely caring and friendly. The owners were a wealth of knowledge . They gave me contacts that made my life a lot easier. I didn't have an appointment. I just popped in but the owners said that was the best way to see a facility. The staff and owners treated everyone of the residents as an extended family member and before I left I wanted to move in there myself. This is by far the best facility in the area and if I could give them 6 stars I would. This place is great! "

"Lanier Village Estates is a very fine facility. It's not for profit. It has pretty much everything we would need. It's on the expensive side, but not prohibitively expensive. They have a range of facilities available there. They offer various levels of service, which would be independent living, assisted living, and professional nursing care. They have a very nice pool and excellent grounds. There's a walking path that goes down to a cove of Lake Lanier. They have good marketing people, very conscientious, and helpful."

"Laurel Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care is a clean and caring place. It's new, they opened up in September, so there's not a lot of reviews. Part of that concern is, you have to deal with new paint, new carpet smells, and things like that, which some people might be sensitive to. There is a lot of carpet there, if I remember correctly. They have standard single rooms, deluxe rooms, and shared rooms. I did not tour the memory care, my sister toured that, but the memory care is set up identical to the assisted living. If you move from assisted living, the transition is easier. They have a lot of activities too. They have snacks out, coffee out, but I did not attend during the mealtime. The price is the only part I didn't like, but they all seemed happy there, and there's plenty of things to do."

"I think that this place was beautiful and it had so many rooms. The people in charge really knew what they were doing and they helped with whatever they could. The owners lived on the property and worked there. Meals were greatly prepared on time each day. the dietary needs of each and every resident were taken into effect. I do not think that there was anything that was missed. i would be proud to send a person in my family to this facility. It was also probably the cleanest facility that I have ever seen. I think that this is why there were so many residents from all over. The only thing that I did not like was how small the town was. there is no hospital in that town. "
