"The Cottages of Perry Hall was nice. It was a happy home setting, and only 16 residents lived there. It's homey and you can feel that the place was nice. I like that it's small. The woman who gave me the tour yesterday was very nice, and she did an excellent job. I didn't see an outside place where they could go. The upkeep and cleanliness looked nice and it's a convenient location for my family to go."

"I like Sunrise of Pikesville very much. They try to do the best for their clients. They are very caring. They encourage friendship in this facility. They try to know what the resident’s background is, then they will put together residents with similar backgrounds. That way, they can meet new friends and mingle with residents of similar interests. Mom was from a rehab and she was in a wheelchair when she started living in this facility. They continued to do rehab on her through an agency and now, she can walk through a walker. As for the activities, they have music, puzzles, and trivia. Mom really enjoys it when there is somebody coming in to do Bible study and stuff like that. They also have movies. Mom doesn’t like her walk-in tub but for the most part, everything has been good at this facility. "

"I was very pleased with Woodholme Gardens in Pikesville. They showed us around assisted living and memory care and we were impressed with all of it. I'm supposed to be putting down a $1500 deposit next month for them to hold a room for us. If they can deal with mom not being able to stand and if I provide the lifts and whatever she needs, then I would really still want for her to go there because everyone there has been fully vaccinated. They don't play when it comes to this virus so we were very impressed with that. Everyone wears masks when they are around the residents. I'm going to talk to the sales director because I'm still interested if they will accept her. I don't think they have lifts so if it's required for my mom, I'd have to provide it. I don't have an issue with that. The facility is extremely clean and the staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating. I didn't get a chance to look at the menu but they have a chef there that would provide you with whatever you like. I was also impressed with the fact that they have a closed area that's all windows where families can come in and have birthday parties, holiday dinners, and things like that within that close area. It's a glass-enclosed area. The chef will provide the meals or the family could bring in the meals that they want. "

"Loving Care Assisted Living was great. This is the one that I would like to send my mother to. Jasmine was wonderful. She had a wonderful set-up. My mother enjoyed the people and staff that were there, including the residents. She had a great time. I loved it. Everything is in that one facility. They don't have it closed off for memory care and assisted living. It was a full assisted living facility. They just had special locks on the doors for wandering, so that they couldn't get them open. I felt comfortable because my mother wanders. The staff members were friendly and kind. They were laughing, and they could relate to my mother. They were talking to her, and she was talking to them. It was just a good conversation. Everyone was wonderful."

"I went to look at Angel Core Home Of Care. The location was close to my home. The lady was very knowledgeable, friendly, and open about how she ran her business. She offered additional services, like daycare or senior care during the day. I got to see her interact with the residents. It was a realistic interaction because one of the residents had just gotten up, so his room wasn't neat and straight, but that wasn't an issue, because he'd just gotten up. And she was giving out medication and things like that, so you could see that people were actually living and functioning. They go out for activities. They have like a lane where they could bowl, they play cards, and there was like special sporting events or stuff on TV that they come together for. The rooms were standard. The particular one that I was looking at was a room for a single person. It was very spacious and well-lit. It's at the front of the house, so there's a nice sun coming in on the room. It was neat and clean. It had the amenities that if a person moving in was just coming with their clothes, they had the amenities that they would need: a nightstand, light, and TV. It has cable access for the residents as well."
