In Fort Lauderdale and throughout the state of Florida, memory care facilities fall under the umbrella of assisted living facilities. Facilities specializing in memory care must provide a safe, secure environment for all residents. Staff who work in memory care facilities are required to have specialized training related to dementia and larger facilities must have at least one staff member awake and on call at all times.
