My mother has been in The Pointe of North Gables for a month now. I like the round-the-clock care. The administrators are very competent and helpful. The amenities are good. My mother's room is clean, fairly spacious, and well-lit. For activities, there's music and TV, they play games and do some crafts, and there are little social events like ice cream. I have tried their food. It's tasty, it's varied, and it's served punctually at regular schedules. The quality of the food is good.

The Pointe of North Gables staff seems knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly, and very helpful with the residents. They have lots of activities. What I didn't like was the small rooms and the place needed to be cleaner. It is very dirty and run down. It needs remodeling and it seems very crowded. There are too many people for the space that they have and they have up to three residents in one room, which I think leaves very little space for them.

The Pointe of North Gables was clean but old. The rooms were smaller, not as upscale, and not as modern as the other place. The person who helped me was very good, professional, and helpful.

I wasn't as crazy about The Pointe of North Gables as the other place. It was smaller, and it just gave me a different vibe. They had a nice outdoor area, but it was very small. The staff during the tour was very good. I know that they serve meals there, but we didn't try anything. I saw people outside by the pool. There was somebody there with them, and I think they were doing some kind of board game or something like that. The building is just very old. There's only so much they can do.

My husband will be moving into The Pointe of North Gables. The lady who gave us a tour was very nice, knowledgeable of the place, and answered all the questions. We're aiming for the future to get a private room, but right now they don't have it, so I think we're going to take the shared room. I like it because it looks very homey. I saw people who were very nice talking to everybody. It was very nice to see how they interacted with the resident. The staff said that they eat there, which I think is wonderful because when the staff eats there, that means that the food must be good. The rooms are furnished. Even though my husband has his own bed, we can use theirs or bring ours. They have two beds, two nightstands, a dresser, and one closet for each one. They have a bathroom with a walk-in shower that you can put in a wheelchair. They have a built-in seat under the shower, so they can sit there. The place is not one of those modern places. It has been in business for 25 years. There are a lot of things that have been remodeled. The place is like an old motel. It has a big window with modern blinds. They seem to have impact windows, which is important here for when a hurricane comes. They have a cat, which is their pet. The facility was very clean. They come every day, clean the room, and make the beds for the residents.

The Pointe of North Gables was very friendly, welcoming, and they showed us what was available. They have an eating and recreational area. The dining area was nice. They have arts and crafts.

The accommodations at The Pointe of North Gables were nice, but it would be very hard to keep an eye on Mom at all times because the rooms were very far away from the main areas. The staff during the tour was very nice. The rooms were very spacious, very nice and looked brand new. I just wasn't sure about the amount of staff for somebody specifically with my mom's needs because she needs a 24/7 lookout for her. I also noticed a lot of the areas were outdoors, which is nice in the winter, but Miami is pretty hot most of the year, and it would be crowded when they would have them in the air-conditioning part. They had a beautiful pool, but the residents cannot use it.

wants to make their residents feel like they’re home. It’s a place that has warm loving care and is always trying to improve their services. Also doing an excellent job updating the facility to make it feel refreshed.

Knowing that we would be in the Miami area, we decided to make an appointment to see the Pointe of North Gables assisted living facility. We've always liked that area "“ and my friend's mother likes it as well. The grounds were all well manicured "“ with plenty of areas for residents to enjoy. The staff was well prepared for our visit. They had taken the time to find out about my friend's mother and what she likes. We were shown all of the common areas, all of which were really nice. There were plenty of scheduled and non-scheduled activities to choose from so that the residents were never bored. The private rooms featured plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings. All had a great deal of natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment is available throughout the day and they also offer personal instruction. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards. The dining room was really lovely "“ as were all the adjacent communal areas. The lunch meal that we saw looked and smelled really great. The snacks offered include everything from specially designed and prepared baked goods (all geared toward health) to fruits, vegetables and other delicious items. Despite the fact that they were made to be healthy, they all looked really good. It was clear that the care at this facility provides understanding and caring staff with independence and freedom for the best care of the residents.
