I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I have an aunt in Randall Residence of Troy. They keep it up nicely. The units are small studio apartments, but they're nice. The staff is nice. Those that interact with my aunt are helpful, too. They have bingo, movies, and crafts. They're starting to take people to Walmart and Kmart and places like that. They don't take them out to different stores very often. My aunt says the food is alright. I've never eaten there, but it's just like at the other place, there's no salt.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I love the staff at Randall Residence of Troy, I've never met a more cheerful and caring group of people of all ages. One lady is 68 years old and some of the young ladies are 22 years old, and they seem to all have the very same caring nature. We've been through COVID with them so they are just now coming out of protocol where they now have community food and stuff back, where they could not do that before. They have an awesome activities director. They're redoing a lot of facilities, they used to be a different company and they've only been Randall for about a year, so they have a big reorganizing of things. They have a nice courtyard, and there's a huge front porch with swings and chairs that my mom loved to be on. There are only 45 people there so it's a small place and they don't have a lot of the bigger amenities. They have a stylist, they have their own kitchen where they can do their crafts, bake, cook, and do whatever they like to do together.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife was a resident at Caldwell five different times over the last six years. Each time the staff got better. The last time this year was the best. Unfortunately she died earlier this month. They were kind, caring and competent. They treated her and me like family. Her brother now needs to be in an assisted living facility, so we are placing him in Caldwell. I highly recommend them.

Provider Response

We're again very sorry for the loss of your wife John. We so appreciate you sharing your experience with other families, as you know, a loved one's perspective is invaluable during the search for the right place. It was an honor to care for your wife and placing a second loved one in our care is truly the highest compliment to be paid. We'll pass your kind words to the staff.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother has been a resident at the Caldwell House since 2015. He has a studio apartment which accommodates him just fine. All the staff are so kind to him and they all just spoil him to the max. I love that I know he is well taken care of. Since the pandemic, they have discontinued all the social activities, but he has enjoyed playing bingo, cards, checkers, exercise class and the meal time socialization. Praying that this virus dies and all activities can resume and we can visit on a regular basis without an appointment. He really enjoys calling Caldwell House his home and comments often of how well they take care of him. I have heard that the food is good, but I haven't eaten there, and my brother is a little of a picky eater and doesn't like most of the food. Since everything has been taken away because of the virus, mealtime is their only thing they have to look forward to. I just wish it was a little more enjoyable for him.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad has moved into Caldwell House. It has been excellent so far. We have no issues. Everything has been great. He likes it really well. The staff members are wonderful. They're very pleasant and helpful. My dad's room is really nice. It is not large but he has an area for living quarters. He has a bedroom, and it has a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, a microwave and a sink. They do his laundry, and they clean his apartment. They pretty much take care of everything. I have gone and eaten with him before and everything has been really good. He's got a good appetite and he said everything is good. If there is something they don't like, they accommodate that and they can order something else. He has gone on a bus trip with them. They got a courtyard where he can go sit outside anytime he wants to. It is secure. They have the normal bingo, checkers and puzzles, too. A couple times a month, they have entertainment come in. They had a band last month. They do quite a bit. They get input into what activities they want. They also have a common area. The value is terrific.

Making a decision to move into an assisted living community can be a huge life choice. One that my mother and I went through last year. We chose Caldwell House and it was the right place for her to live. The entire staff could not be more helpful and kind. They truly care about the residents and are a part of her family. I am highly recommending Caldwell House for anyone looking for a great assisted living home.

I visited this facility

Caldwell House was a really great place. The staff seemed really friendly and helpful. They called, and they checked up. Even after hours, they called and wanted to see what would be the best for my mom. They did a really good job. That’s probably where she would have gone had she stayed. Their programs seemed really nice, and they catered to their residents. It seemed like a really nice place.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandparents were in need of more care than my family could provide at their home. We made the very difficult choice to move them into a nursing home after months of discussion and planning. We looked at numerous facilities and none had the warmth, compassion, and atmosphere of Caldwell House. From the very first visit, everyone was so supportive of our decisions and the difficult choices we had to make for my grandparents. The staff and administration of this facility were absolutely fantastic for the years my grand parents were there. The medical staff were very attentive and compassionate to my family as well as my grandparents. The administration were always courteous and helpful with any issues that arose. When my grandfather passed away, all the staff were very supportive of my grandmother and the entire family. Several of the staff even attended the services. My grandmother has since passed away also and I do miss the fine people at Caldwell House
