I cannot say enough good things about Storypoint. My mom has been a resident for over a year and my dad joined her a few months ago. The staff does a wonderful job of caring for their residents and are both cheerful and kind. We are familiar with both the Memory Care and the assisted-living areas, and they are both excellent! The care is excellent, the food is delicious and the staff make this a special community!

We toured StoryPoint Troy. It was excellent. Everything was exactly as you wanted it for your elderly parents. The room was excellent. I thought it was laid out perfectly. The halls were good. The current clients that were there were all happy. There were lots of activities for them to keep them busy. The admission counselor was excellent. She answered all our questions. She's very professional.

I toured the memory care areas of StoryPoint Troy for my mom. Based on the visit, everything was really nice on all accounts. I felt that the staff was friendly, very professional, and knowledgeable about the facility and with any questions that we had. If they were unaware of the answer to our question, they made notes in an effort to obtain the answer. The room that I saw was adequate, and the facility was very clean and well-maintained.

Storypoint has been great helping my parents transition from living on their own to living in a community. Everyone has been very supportive and helpful. The independent living apartments are very spacious and quiet, but there are many activities to choose from if you want to socialize!

I am so pleased with the caregivers and all the staff. Each one has been so kind and patient with my mom. I am also very pleased with how well they communicate with me. They readily answer my questions or concerns. The facility is very clean. There are plenty of activities offered each day. I also appreciate that they provide transportation to local medical providers.

The apartments are spacious and clean. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. The bathroom is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair and caregiver. The bedroom and living area have large windows that let in plenty of sunlight. Housekeeping and maintenance do an excellent job keeping everything clean and working. There is a beautiful dining room and a cheerful bistro. The food is great and with a nice variety. There is a private dining room for families. One Sunday each month there is a lovely brunch. Chef plans very special meals for holidays. StoryPoint offers many services for its residents… salon, PT, visiting doctor, and visiting podiatrist. Residents can reserve transportation for other appointments. There seems to always be something interesting and fun going on at StoryPoint. Many events include family members! And there are many trips planned for Troy, Dayton, and beyond. But the staff is what stands out in my mind. The front desk, activities staff, kitchen staff, and caregivers are caring and attentive. When there is a need, they find a way to get it done!

The StoryPoint facility in Troy, Ohio is an Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care Center. The Independent Living side has beautiful, modern apartments on several floors. My experience, however, is with the Assisted Living and Memory Care side of the facility. Each apartment is extremely cozy and yet not cramped. My Mom stayed in a one bedroom with a beautiful walk-in closet. A full bathroom was conveniently across from the bedroom. Kitchenette and living room are right inside the entrance. Very homey! The food is amazing! Think of a first class restaurant and that’s where they dine, EVERYDAY!! There is a walkway between the Independent and Assisted Living sides of the facility. Halfway between, there is a huge window that allows you to watch the cooks and kitchen help prepare the meals. Talk about transparency!! Finally, the staff at the Troy facility are absolute professionals with a kind heart. These folks treat their, for lack of a better word, “patients” like they are their own family members. I have been through several Care Facilities, met the staff and spoke to their management teams. Everyone was polite and professional. To me, it felt like they had to since this was their job. I don’t mean this to be construed in a negative manner.. StoryPoint was different from the beginning. My initial contact went out of her way to get me an appointment and tour with her Executive Director. The urgency they displayed reflected mine, I was in a dilemma and time was of the essence. They went out of their way to help my Mom and I find her new home. Everyone we met was sincere and genuine. Moving Mom here just felt “right.” Once she got settled in, the seemingly insignificant issues are their top priority if you share these with them. It’s not the, “ yea, we’ll get to it when we can” mindset as I have experienced prior. Even today, after a year of Mom calling StoryPoint home, we still enjoy the same (my words) Commitment to Excellence as we did when she first moved in! I can’t say enough good things about this place and the “family” that works here! If you are looking for safe, secure and loving environment for your loved ones, look no further than StoryPoint-Troy!

StoryPoint Troy had a chef who prepared what appeared to be very, very good meals. They were not only delicious, by the looks of it, but also nutritious. It was in the morning when I visited there and they were having a coffee time. There were informal gatherings and friendly conversations. The facility was very clean. They showed me a one-bedroom and it was very adequate. The outdoors were very attractive, too, as far as landscaping and flower gardens. They showed me a movie room which was where they had their church services and meetings. It was very nice. The dining area was very pleasant, very clean, very bright, and very cheerful.

StoryPoint Troy was nice. The girl I talked to was also nice and informative. They seemed to have a little bit more options for the step-down as it goes. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The rooms looked OK and sufficient. They were not very comforting or homey, but that, I think, has to do with a personal touch. It was clean. We passed through the dining room and it was a little bit more elegant. They had tablecloths. It was impressive, but I don't know if that was all that necessary. They had a lot of things for the resident to be involved in or take part in. They were having a chef do a culinary class. She was talking about making crepes and they had a lot of interaction. I liked that. The surroundings overall were very impressive. It was a little upscale assisted living. They have things to offer and a lot of times, you have to pay extra for them. So, it's a little expensive.

I'm at StoryPoint Troy and it's been wonderful. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. The food is wonderful. I enjoy some of the activities and the other services as far as housecleaning and some laundry service, and that sort of thing has been outstanding so far. The staff has just universally been really great. They are always friendly, there's always a big smile on their faces, and their service has been excellent in every sense. We had the Mardi Gras party and I have enjoyed the bingo so far, and some of the entertainers that they have come on an afternoon and provide entertainment. There are just some things that they do that I have not participated in yet. It is quite expensive, above the average for this kind of facility.

Story Point is a wonderful place to live. The staff goes above and beyond to make the residents feel at home. The life enrichment staff have something new and exciting every day, whether it’s entertainment or an outing. The food is delicious with a wide ranging menu. The facility is wonderful but it’s the staff that makes it fantastic.

Mom moved into StoryPoint during Covid. She was lonely, living alone, and felt as if she was having a hard time communicating. After she moved in she made many new friends, was involved in activities and arts and crafts. She loves the food and the people she sits with. She says StoryPoint was the best move she ever made. The employees of StoryPoint are so upbeat and caring. We are so glad we found StoryPoint for Mom. It is a beautiful place to spend your golden years.

Storypoint is impeccably cared for and clean. Housekeeping is outstanding and has provided service each and every time they have been called. Maintenance is excellent and has come every time we called. No one wants to leave their home. However, the staff at Storeypoint makes every effort to reach every resident and encourage them to become a part of the community. They are kind and compassionate and friendly . The activities offered are varied and interesting. My mother participated in painting and attended and especially enjoyed the music. The care Laurus has provided has been exceptional. Far better than any facility I have had experience with. The caretakers know my mother, her likes, dislikes and idiosyncrasies. They stay in close touch and I never feel my mother is not well taken care of.

There are several positive aspects of StoryPoint Troy. Some of them were the size of the rooms or the options for different room sizes, and their cafeteria or the dining area. The food looked very good too. We went there during meal time. We got to smell the food and watched folks eating, and it made me hungry. Considering my mother and her personality, I think it's too many people for her because it was way too big. We were mainly looking for assisted living but we saw both independent and assisted living. It's fairly close to a hospital, maybe within a mile or two and there's a Walmart within walking distance. I can't remember the lady's title but the person we spoke with was very knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time with us, making sure all our questions were answered, and making sure we toured every room. She showed us around the facility, the dining hall, the recreation areas, and the courtyard outside which is a very secure area. The room was a nice size, and the layout was what you would want for an apartment, be it independent or assisted living.

StoryPoint Troy was very pleasant. The memory care was very, very nice and very upscale. The staff was also very nice and very helpful. I was given lunch to go. There was one lady that was working on a puzzle while the others were just sitting around socializing. The apartments were very new and updated. They're very homey. It's more on the expensive side, but I think you get what you pay for.

I went to StoryPoint Troy. The sales person was really, really nice. She was excellent, but when I went in, the facility was confusing to me. I am not a directional person at all -- I could get lost in my house -- but the hallways were like one of those hotels where every hallway looks the same and that almost makes my stomach knot up. It was so sterile. I'm a color person. I taught school, my room was always colorful, my house was colorful, the walls were painted muted red and green and yellow. I like color, and I felt like I was in prison there, because everything was white and gray. That turned me off. The price was comparable, I just didn't like the place. It looked clean, very new, but it was just the sterile atmosphere and the confusing hallways.

StoryPoint Troy was nice, clean and really bright. I liked it a lot. I thought it was a great place. Just money wise, we decided not to do it. The food was really good. They had a good variety. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. I noticed they all wore masks, and we had to take our temperature when we went in.

I visited that facility and met with Ashley. Upon touring, see a studio apartment, and having Ashley answer all of my questions and concerns, my sister and I decided to place my father at Story Point. Unfortunately, his condition did not improve as we had hoped and he was unable to make the move. Even though dad never made it to Story Point our experience with the staff from initial contact to refund of our deposit was extremely positive.

We started working with the staff at StoryPoint Troy after my mother had a stroke and considered Independent living for her. Due to the pandemic and other factors, she never made the move. A year and a half later we needed advanced assisted living as my mother developed serious medical issues. We signed the contract, prepared her room and we sitting in her room waiting for her to be transferred from the hospital. Incredibly, she passed away as we were waiting. Even though we never moved her, all the staff at StoryPoint were amazing! They showed great compassion for us and we observed them dealing with residents in a kind, compassionate and loving manner. Our "sales" person...kept in touch with us over the 18 months we were considering the initial move. But she never tried to "sell" us. She always showed more interest in what was best for Mom. A beautiful and wonderful place! Highly recommended!

Having had no prior experience with any type of living facilities, I conducted quite a bit of research before committing to StoryPoint. Everything I was told occurred. My husband could not be more pleased- the staff is awesome; he loves the food; anytime I call, I am treated with a caring attitude! My husband has made so much progress with the OT & PT! I could live at StoryPoint if the need arose.

We toured StoryPoint Troy yesterday. It was a very good visit, no issues, very informative, and very ice. The people were all very informative about the place, the rooms were very nice, very sizable, more than a little bit bigger than the ones in the other place. They offered us a pretty good deal at this place. My mother and sister both live in Troy, and it's very close to where they live.

StoryPoint Troy has been a wonderful home for my parents. We chose StoryPoint for their tiered care sections. We wanted the ability to upgrade the level of care as my parents aged. The Troy location has a wonderful staff in all departments. They are caring & dedicated to the residents and families. I would highly recommend StoryPoint. I feel it is the best facility in the area!!

My family's room is very nice and roomy enough for both to enjoy. They brought along some of their furniture from their house. Hallways are bright and airy. Dining with them was delightful. Food was excellent. Staff is very willing to assist you with any questions or concerns. Activities are many, singing a-longs, painting, special snack times, staff dress-up days. They do offer a visitor guest room for an overnight stay at a reasonable fee, reservations are required.

My moms apartment is comfortable and well equipped. The laundry service is very convenient and the cleaning crew pays close attention to detail. Under the current circumstances the staff has done a good job to keep the residents safe but also busy enough to prevent boredom. My mom loves all of the activities and stays very active. The only thing I would say she mentions is the food.... she loves the variety but wishes for more comfort food choices. They do offer individual options on request. Since moving in a year ago my mom has come alive again.

My husband is in StoryPoint Troy. It's really hard when you can't get in there to put your eyes on your loved one, I did see him last week behind a plexiglass barrier, but now they're locked down again for 2 weeks, because somebody had COVID that came in, one of the workers, and so that part is very, very hard. Overall our experience seems to be fine. I call, he's in a memory care unit, I try to talk to him as often as I can, as best as you can have a conversation. They have a good record of staff, they have no violations, and they seem to have enough help on the floor at all times especially third shift at night, and I wanted something close to home, and it's basically the only reason. The staff is fine, they seem very friendly, very nice, I don't have any problem there. The facility is beautiful, very nice. He seems to be eating really well.

My dad has moved into StoryPoint Troy. My experience has been OK. He was only there a short time and then he was moved to a hospital. I saw the entryway. The place was very clean and very nice. The room was clean. The staff was polite and knowledgeable. Everything was in order as I expected. They offered a very good dinner, but just before we left they had an emergency at the facility and my dad was pressing his button and it took more than half an hour for someone to show up. Originally, it was what made us choose them, because they said there it would be five minutes on average, and no more than 10 minutes per call, but this time it was 30 minutes. I went in and I helped move his furniture into the room and that was it. Other than that, we were not allowed to go through the facility due to COVID. I didn't see anybody around and I didn't interact with anyone. I would give it a four just for the fact that the response time might have been due to an emergency, but it was kinda slow, and my dad fell three times during his first night. The staff seemed to be good. I didn't eat anything, but my dad liked it. The menu was very good and the facility looked very new.

StoryPoint Troy was beautiful, high end, and very costly. It was laid out nicely, and it had a central location for snacks and food. The staff member was very helpful and gave us suggestions. Even though we weren't going to use their facility, she still helped us. The rooms were large and very well appointed. The dining area was very light, bright, and very fancy. They have chefs there. It's over the top, but my brother wanted more of a homey situation. It's good if you're used to being in a fancy environment. It's so pristine and so high end.

I love this facility for my sister. She has been a resident in Memory Care for a year and she is doing very well there. It's bright and cheerful and 98% of the staff is awesome. The meals in the independent living dining room are always beautifully served and delicious; however, I do feel that the Memory Care meals need to be the same. As for activities, there used to be wonderful activities, but the only activity I have seen in the last several months is musicians playing piano or guitar. That is very nice and the residents love it but I would like to see more physical activity. Now, maybe I'm just missing when that goes on, but neither my daughter or I have seen this kind of physical activity since Michelle left. I visited several facilities before I chose StoryPoint and I would choose it again. My sister seems happy there and that is what matters to me.

Visitors are immediately taken with the beautiful environment created for seniors. The rooms are spacious and well cared for. However, what is much more important, are the people who work there. Everyone knows my mother's name and treats her like a queen. She is very social and enjoys chatting with everyone at StoryPoint. She loves all the activities, especially the music. She is trying food she's never had before and finds dinner and special events to be a culinary delight. She goes on most of the Friday outings and partiularly enjoyed flying in a WACO plane.

What sets Storypoint apart from the other assisted living facilities in the area is the care and attention of the staff. All of the staff. They know the patients by name. They often stop what they are doing to help a resident out. I observed this for over a week while I was visiting. It was like the residents had a member of the family around them all the time. Anything they wanted or needed was taken care of right away. No detail was too small. The food and facilities are wonderful. The activities are abundant and diverse. The residents are friends and they too reach out to each other. When I got back home , I wished there was a Storypoint here!

Everyone is so inviting and always smiling and saying hello. My grandparents moved in around middle of October 2019 and really began to thrive. In the short amount of time they’ve lived there everyone made them feel right at home and cared for them as their own. In my grandpas unexpected final days after a sudden illness I was comforted to know he could come back to StoryPoint Troy and die in peace and what had become his new home with hospice. The entire StoryPoint family not only loved on him, our family but has ensured his grieving widow (my grandma) is cared for in the manner he would have wanted. This facility and these staff members from upper management to your direct care staff to those who ensure their home is maintained and clean all have made our family have a peace of mind knowing our loved ones are safe and living with the best quality of life!

My sister (who was visiting from Texas) and I "popped in" unannounced, on our way home from the airport. I had toured all the assisted living facilities in the county we reside. None of them made me feel confident - either the staff were unwelcoming, cleanliness was a concern, or their state reviews noted citations that were concerning. Background: My mother (86) has dementia and my father (89) was no longer able to care for her and himself. We had aides in their home but it wasn't enough. At Storypoint - Troy, my sister and I were met by professional, welcoming staff, who made time for us without an appointment. The things that impressed us during this first visit - cleanliness of the building and staff, friendliness of ALL staff, activities, transportation, size of the rooms and options available. There are so many room designs you can really customize the living environment (based on availablity) and care to meet your loved ones needs. Unfortunately, during my sister's visit we were unable to convince my parents to move. I was concerned how their decision would effect future discussions. The staff were very understanding and continued to stay in contact with me, not in an aggressive way, rather a very helpful supportive way. The staff provided me support during one of the most important decisions I would make for my parents. My parents did moved after several months of visits, including meals. My mother moved into memory care and my father moved into an apartment in assisted living. As with any move, there are "hiccups" in the beginning. Staff have always been responsive and strive to ensure our needs are being met. Unfortunately, my father passed very unexpectedly in January. During this very difficult time we, as a family, experienced first hand the kindness and caring of the staff. I truly believe, you don't get to work here if you don't have a positive attitude and a geniune desire to help others. Although my father is no longer here, I can sleep at night knowing my mother is getting the best care available in the area. No place is perfect - it's how they respond to concerns that really matters - Storypoint Troy gets and A+ from our family. I can call 24/7 and reach a nurse. That peace of mind is priceless! My sister is now looking for an assisted living facility in Texas for her mother-in-law and she is using Storyoint-Troy as her standard for comparison. Some have come close but none measure up.

My father lives in StoryPoint Troy. The building is brand new. Our experience has been good. The rooms are nice and spacious. A lot of the assisted living apartments are very small, but my father's apartment is a nice, big size. He has more room than he knows what to do with. He really likes the food, which is a big thing with him. However, the activities for him aren't so great because he is blind. For the other residents, they seem to like the activities just fine. They have a barbershop, a dining room, a bistro, a media room, and a room where there is a physical therapist and workout equipment.

On May 17, my wife and I went to StoryPoint for the Father's Day Brunch. It's the first time we had been inside StoryPoint, and we were both impressed with the beautiful interior. A spacious and open floor plan with comfortable colors. Spotlessly clean and inviting. We just returned from a trip where we had meals at higher-end restaurants. The brunch at StoryPoint surpassed most of them. The food was exceptional, and the staff members were polite, attentive, and professional. It was obvious that they truly care about their residents, taking time to address them individually and spend some time as they dined.. At 62 years of age, it will likely be some time before my wife and I consider assisted living, but we will definitely be returning to StoryPoint regularly for the five-star cuisine and exemplary service.

I visited this Community today to attend the Brunch with my mom. The staff are always so friendly. They smile and speak to you as they pass you and really make everyone feel comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing. Far better good than I would expect in a senior living Community. I felt like I was on a cruise ship. The Executive Director even took time to stop by our table and talk for a while. My mom has made new friends since living at StoryPoint and really enjoys the outings each week. There is a lot of variety of activities and she is always busy with something. It’s refreshing to me to see my mom thriving and vibrant again.
