I was a PT inpatient at ShawneeSprings, Harrison. Most of my review pertains to the staff, room, and my OT and PT specialists. I was admitted with a fractured femur. The OT/PT dept. worked me hard but with wonderful results . I was able to come home to complete my home care PT. The staff is so kind, caring and the program for me touched all bases in order for me to become well on my way to becoming “walker free”. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. A great group! My private room was new and very nice and quiet. A little small but doable. Bathroom was very large to accommodate my walker. The nursing staff was nice as well. They worked with me and all the meds that I’m on. In the beginning, they were diligent on checking my vitals. The aides/STNA’s/office/etc were very tentative to my needs. They were so very kind to me and I had my favorites. Even housekeeping and food servers showed respect to this ole gal. I’ve never had to PT in my life and all in all, I was impressed with this facility. Thanks to all the gals at ShawneeSprings.

The food just keeps getting worse. You never get what is on your menu or if you do, there is barely 4 small bites of it any more. Depending on the time of day, your call light may be answered within 15 minutes and at other times, you are lucky if anyone comes within an hour. Most of the aides are wonderful and the facility workers are very caring. There are some activities but they are all in-house. Since covid restrictions have been lifted there has not been any outings to like the park, m...

My father was a short term resident who was to be there for 20 days for rehab following a pnuemonia diagnosis and was dead within 10 days. He fell out of bed 9 times in 10 days with no brain scan done, claimed he was eating 75% of 4 meals a day but lost 16 pounds and found his false teeth in a drawer, had his medical records reviewed and was being given high doses of basically benadryl to knock him out and sleep all the time, never had his own clothes on (even when he passed he has someone els...

We had a really bad experience at Shawneesprings. My father was there for rehab and getting antibiotics. I felt like a family member had to be there at all times because he was not being responded to when he needed to go to the restroom. We were told by the staff to expect a 20-30 minute wait after we hit the call button. Therefore, I had to help him daily to use the restroom. Otherwise, he would have wet the bed. THe first night he was there, he was not cleaned up and had the same gown on from...

I went to Shawnee Springs for rehab after having surgery. Whenever I needed help with getting in or out of bed, or needed changing, it took the staff, during the majority of my stay, between an hour to two hours to answer the call light. Twice in the middle of the night, I needed help and ended up calling my family to come help me, as no staff came to assist after having my call light on for an hour and forty minutes. A number of times when the staff did come in, they would say that they wo...

My experience has been great here! Everyone here is great. The STNAs and nurses take care of my needs. Physical Therapy is the reason I am able to go home now. They work their patients hard to get them rehabbed to go home. Social Services (Krista) has helped me with everything, if it wasn't for her I would have even a harder time. She helped me with my insurance concerns. My sister was a patient here once before and she had a great experience too- this is why I chose the building. Food i...

My ex-husband was a resident of Shawnee Carespring. They have excellent care and excellent food. It's clean and it's extremely nice. They have entertainment, and it was very, very good. It's just an excellent facility, I rate it very high, and I would love to get him back into it again.

The rooms are not what they tell you in the descriptions, the beds are very narrow and not comfortable. The staff does not answer calls from the patients, I was sitting with my husband when he called to go to the bathroom and was about to take him myself after a good half hour. When I was not there I found out they just put adult diapers on him instead of getting him up. If they had started his antibiotics, he would not have gotten an infection through his blood stream and died after only t...

What a wonderful facility! My father was at Shawnee recently for rehab for a hip replacement. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Staff went over and above to provide care, security and comfort. The therapy department did a wonderful job at working with my father to teach the proper techniques and prepare him for a successful release home. They were extremely patient and caring. My father enjoyed the food and provided lots of options. All staff seemed to enjoy their work and truly had the...

I came to Shawneespring for my stay after my car wreck in July. I stayed on the first floor where I had a very nice clean room with a big walk in closet where I had plenty of room to put all my clothes and personal belongings in. The staff was great they went above and beyond especially nurse Sarah she always had a smile on her face and a sweet caring voice that made me feel like everything was going to be alright. I had therapy Monday through Friday twice a day. The therapy team was top notch...

My father was in Shawneespring for rehab because he can't walk. They served three meals a day, and the staff was good. They need more people to work there because they're always short of staff.

We chose Shawneespring mainly because of the location and because the staff and physical therapy are good. I haven’t tried the food, but they offered me a meal. They only had one server, so it’s a long wait time for the patients to get their food. They have a chapel and activities room that I have seen people in.

Shawnee Spings is a very clean well run facility. The therapy department is top notch. I have spent considerable time in the therapy department working with my dad. The attention to details and providing multiple avenues to help the residents is wonderful.
