The one that we liked that we would have been very happy to live there was Christian Village at Mt. Healthy. From the time you enter their driveway, it's like you're driving into a park. It's all trees and it's a beautiful environment. The facility itself is very welcoming and very quiet. There are a lot of large windows that look out onto the garden areas. Even looking out on those, they have fountains. We even saw hummingbirds at feeders. That place is the cleanest that you could ever imagine. It is spotless, and it even smells fresh, which you don't always find when you go into a facility for elderly people. It's very clean, and it smells clean. The people were extremely nice. They don't have a lot of people there. It's just like a big family. Anybody would just go there and feel like they're living at home. You don't feel like you're in any place different, so we liked it. We were really disappointed to realize that we couldn't make our money stretch far enough to be able to go there. But to us, it was the absolute, ideal, perfect place. We couldn't have asked for anything different. We looked at their menu for the day, the meal plan, the dining room, and the chapel that they have. They have a beautiful gift shop within the facility. They have a wonderful laundry room in the basement. When we got off the elevator in the basement, I commented that it certainly was not like any basement I had ever seen before. The whole floor was very, very nice, and the laundry facility was nice. We couldn't have asked for anything different. The staff was very pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. She knows all the residents who were there. As she passed them in the hallway, she called them by name, and that was a plus, too.

My mother is in Christian Village at Mt. Healthy. It's very nice and very beautiful. The residents are well cared for. We're just really happy with our choice. My mom is on a feeding tube. She's in nursing care. They have activities, but she hasn't been there long enough to participate in any of them. It's an awful lot of money, but she's being well cared for.

My father will be moving into Christian Village at Mt. Healthy. We chose it because of the location. It seemed very clean. The staff was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. The room was a nice size, and it had an updated modern bathroom and plenty of storage. Because of COVID, they're not allowing visitors into the dining area. They have a coordinator and a life enrichment center. In the summertime, they have grill outs in the covered pavilion with picnic tables. The staff was very professional and attentive. There's someone at the desk to assist you as soon as you walk through the door. They have a laundry room, so you're responsible for doing your own laundry. You can have them do laundry, but you will pay extra for that. They have basic television. If you want anything more, you have to pay for that also.

My mom is in Christian Village at Mt. Healthy's assisted living. I like that it's easy to get in and out of, you don't have any problem signing in and getting to visit. They have different activities for the residents and it seems like a safe environment. They have beautiful grounds too where the residents, sometimes, have outdoor activities. The staff members were okay, they're accommodating. Cleanliness is not a problem either. Their meals have too much beef, which is heavy food. When you have a lot of older people, they can't always tolerate heavy food. To me, they need to do more chicken and fish. They have bingo and they have televisions out in the common area and their rooms. They also have a person that does activities with them. She paints the fingernails of the female residents and gives them manicures. They do puzzles, coloring books, and play games. They also have a chapel and a beauty salon.

We filed an appeal to keep my husband at Christian Village at Mt. Healthy longer but they said he's well enough and didn't need skilled nursing. I never saw anybody there because I wasn't allowed to go in. He was very pleased with the staff, they said they could get an opening and since COVID was going on we said we'll try, but they did help him.

We went to Christian Village on a Saturday, and it was not on their schedule, but the staff accommodated us, and gave us a tour. It was a nice facility. I liked the first-floor layout, with the dining room, the grounds, and the way it was situated. The staff did a good job.

Christian Village at Mt. Healthy was nothing fancy, very basic, old, and somewhat outdated. The price was doable but still a little on the high side for what they were offering. The staff was nice and exceptionally friendly.

The Christian Village has a very friendly staff. It is a smaller complex, so you could get around. There are several activities that they have. My parents are actually in a studio, so to me the rooms are quite small, but not bad for one person. When you have two in a studio, it is kind of challenging, but the prices were in the price range that we needed, so that was a factor as to where they went. And then, my dad had currently been there for rehab, and he just liked the place, so that is what they chose. The location is not bad; it is by a high school, but there hasn’t been any issue. It is a nice little complex. What they can improve on their service is like when you move in, I think your orientation would need to be set up a little differently. After you decide that, that is where you are going to go and you have put your deposit down. I think that transition can be improved upon to make it more of an ease instead of a hassle.

My father is in Mount Healthy Christian Home. I certainly appreciate the attitude of the staff and the administrators there. They seem very supportive and have a genuine interest in the residents. That is one reason why we go there. It has a chapel, and we like that aspect as well.

We toured Mount Healthy Christian Home a couple of times. Everyone was wonderful, very friendly, and very helpful. The apartments were very nice. They were clean and spacious. They thought of everything. The bathroom was very clean with a walk-in shower. It had a kitchenette. It was a studio apartment, but each floor had a different care need such as independent living, skilled nursing, and memory care. The dining room was very nice and very beautiful. They had tours. They had a beautiful garden area, a gazebo, and walking trail. They had a lot of activities for anyone who wanted to enjoy them. The people that were there impressed me; even the residents were friendly. The place was very secure. They had security guards, nursing staff, and a chaplain, and only certain doors were open at certain times.

My relative lives in the independent living section. Overall we're pleased, but concerned about complaints seen on other web sites about under-staffing at MHCV, particularly in the assisted living and nursing care sections.
