My wife has been in the same facility for the last five years. She's in The Kenwood by Senior Star, and she's going to be there for the duration. The administrative staff is pretty good. There's quite a bit of turnover in the help. My wife is now up on the third floor. She was in the memory care unit for the first three years, and then they moved her up one floor to the skilled nursing unit because her condition has deteriorated. She can't walk and she can't talk. However, it seems to me that I see new caregivers in there almost every time I go in. They seem OK, but there's just a lot of turnovers. My wife has a nice room. It's a first-class room. It has a separate bedroom, a huge bathroom, and two TVs that are permanently mounted on the wall. One TV faces her, so can watch her when she's in bed, and the other one is in the living room. Her room has a little sink, so it is a very nice room. The food is very good. They serve a completely balanced meal, and every meal is well prepared. I have no complaints about that at all. Well, I pay $15,000 a month to have my wife in the facility, so it's not cheap. I've looked at some other facilities and I could probably save $5000 a month but I have to move her, and I prefer not to do that right now. In terms of day-to-day everyday caregiving people, because there's so much turnover, I'd be more comfortable if they were the same people most of the time. You would think that the core of the caregiving staff would be consistent week after week, but it's not in this case, and that may be the case with all of these kinds of facilities. They do bring in activities. A lady comes in and leads the group in singing, and sometimes they have people read to the group when they get everybody to sit down in the common area. They have a nice sort of a garden area where there's a lot of sun coming in. There's an inside version of that and then there's an outside version, so they don't have to go outside the building, they could stay on their floor and still, they can get outside a little bit. I would rate the facilities, first class, all the way.

If you love your family member, DON’T send him/her here! The physical facility (rooms, etc) is fine. The food is advertised as being wonderful, but it isn’t tasty or healthy. Everything is highly salted, sugared, overcooked, or smothered in ketchup or something similar. It’s disgusting. Memory care receives their food subject to the assisted living dining schedule, so sometimes patients would receive lunch and then dinner within 4 hours or less. The real issue is with the staff (or lack of). I found the memory care units were almost always understaffed. The aides that were there were not trained to work with dementia patients. They were rude, abusive, untruthful and actually lazy. They didn’t even try to hide it. My mother was not bathed, incontinenance products were not changed regularly, laundry was not done and then “went missing”. Trash was allowed to pile up in rooms and, although rooms were to be cleaned regularly, they were not. Patients were drugged to the point of being almost comatose in some cases and left in wheelchairs in a common area moaning and crying for hours. Those that were mobile weren’t watched and fell frequently. There were two broken hips in one week and my mother suffered many bruises and skin abrasions. Although, state law requires notification of any injuries to family, that was not done. Complaints to management fell on deaf ears.

We toured The Kenwood by Senior Star. They were excellent. We had lunch there. It was delicious. It was a very beautiful place, you could see beautiful views of downtown. The people were extremely efficient. The gal who showed us around was extremely professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and very thorough. The rooms were very nice.

We're going to the Kenwood by Senior Star and we're going to be at the Bluffs. We liked the fact that there was no entrance fee. We liked the people. We liked the amenities. We especially liked that we're going to be at the Bluffs. We will be in in the independent living, but they offer continuing care. The staff member was very courteous, friendly, and pleasant. We had a couple of lunches, and the food was wonderful. They had a fitness center and a pool. They offer lectures and concerts.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like about The Kenwood by Senior Star. It's just a beautiful place and they seemed to take good care of their residents. It didn't have a bad smell to it or anything. It smelled and looked like a four-star hotel. It was gorgeous. The lady that showed us around was excellent, very informative, very friendly, answered all our questions, and showed us everything. It was great. They offered just about anything you could want. They had a lot. They even had a swimming pool where they did aerobics classes and physical therapy.

I visited The Kenwood by Senior Star. It's nice. The only problem is, it's not as close to us, and that's the only reason my mother is not there. The layout was nice. It was all on one floor. The people seemed friendly. The rooms seemed nice. Coming in, it wasn't like they were closed in a dungeon or anything. So, that was nice. And there were single rooms, which was nice. There was a courtyard. The staff was nice, and she answered all the questions.

The Kenwood by Senior Star is a very high-class and very upscale place. They have many, many programs and a lot of intellectual activities, which is good for older people. They have a wonderful exercise room and a lot of staff working to engage with the residents. What my husband and I did not like about it so much is that it is not all-inclusive. You pay money to go in and to stay, and then you pay money to eat, for valet, and extra services. For some of the homes we visited, you only pay one fee and it covers everything. Other than that, The Kenwood by Senior Star is a beautiful community. We liked everything we saw. It was just very expensive.

I went on a tour at The Kenwood by Senior Star, it was great and we loved it. We looked at both the assisted living and skilled nursing, the facilities looked like they would accommodate my Dad. The rooms looked like they had plenty of accommodation, a large kitchen, laundry, and everything someone would need in that situation. I saw different classes that they described on their list of activities, they have food available at all hours, and the dining area looked very nice. They also have PT and OT. The staff were very engaged and welcoming.

My husband stayed at The Kenwood by Senior Star. Everything was very smooth. Basically we had a good experience. People were super and the food was great. The accommodation was very nice. The nursing staff were appropriately centered on the needs of the patient and medicines were timely. Everything went pretty well. We were happy with it. He was in an efficiency apartment by himself with the nursing station right in the hallway. I think it was called assisted living, but he was very independent. He was not requiring any assistance with showers and anything like that. He played chess with the little chess club, and he was going to some socials and events. He did not tell me everything, but that was primarily what he was involved in. His room almost looked like a bigger hotel room with a bed, TV stand, drawers, a closet to hang up clothes, an efficiency kitchen, and a private bathroom. I was able to see a video conference of the room before I chose it. From his description and the people who visited, everybody was really nice. He is outgoing, and it did not take long for people to know him. As big as this place is they still know him by name. They were very accommodating and welcoming. This was a good choice. I chose Kenwood because my son lived within a half a mile away, and he needed to be able to get to him if something came up or he needed something.

We visited The Kenwood in person. We were very happy with it. We chose it more for convenience and familiarity. We lived very close to it and we knew a lot of people that go there for one reason or another. We felt comfortable with that. We like the location and we like the views. As far as the caring goes, it's definitely top of the line. The facility was top of the line and very beautiful. The people were very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. We knew people that lived there, so I have dined there previously. I haven't eaten in their memory care area. I think the menu may be slightly different, but I dined at two different restaurants in the place.

I have been a resident of The Kenwood by Senior Star on both “Assisted“ and “Independent“ Living for the past couple of years. As such, J can attest to the excellence of care offered here. Staff are caring and personable, accommodations are superior as is the ambience of public areas which are maintained with attention to cleanliness. Activities are numerous and varied both daytimes and evenings. Meals are prepared and served tastefully and professionally. All of these “pluses” qualify this community as a superior choice to consider, and I highly recommend it.

When we moved our parents here in 2018, food was acceptable if not a bit too salty. Wait staff was amateur, with a few folks that went out of their way to try to be more helpful. At some point over the last year or so, there was a change of Management. The food service on a good day is now essentially low grade cafeteria quality. Totally unacceptable, but uprooting parents once again could prove more disastrous. Not happy! Feels like a bait and switch. Regarding staff, some superlative, some just not up to any of the tasks... Odd!?!

The Kenwood by Senior Star was very nice, the residents seemed very happy, and the staff was very friendly, outgoing, and helpful. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and very clean. I would have no problems placing a relative or loved one in there. I got a very good impression of it mainly from the residents because they seemed very happy.

The Kenwood by Senior Star has a really nice layout and looks good externally. However, the residents complain because they have a big theater with lots of great events, but most residents can't go because it has a sloped floor. So people with walkers can't maneuver and they fall over. Other than that, everything else is beautiful. I didn't like the staff though. I made three appointments in total, because the first two times the administrator didn't show up and I had driven in from out of town. They have a nice, warm water therapy pool, which is wonderful. They also have an art room upstairs, which is really nice. They have music in an area off of the lobby, and it's really great. I ate there; the service was good and the food was delicious. I really liked the activities, but some were really impractical.

The Kenwood is a relatively new community. It is highly regarded. It is stunningly gorgeous and competitively priced. My mom seems overwhelmed because it is incredibly large, but her sister and the family are very excited about it. We like it a lot. My mom has memory issues, and we’ll move in next week. She’ll be in assisted living. We are going to continue with hospice nursing, but we will use their doctor on-call. I like this community a lot because it is literally stunningly. It sits way high up on a cliff. It is so pretty. It feels like you’re outdoors even though you can’t go outdoor.

I like Kenwood by Senior Star. It's a beautiful place. Their grounds are pretty, but limited. This is the place where I hoped to actually have my parents go. They have independent living as well as assisted living. I would say the rooms were very nice. The public facilities were beautiful. The food is fabulous. They have a wonderful restaurant, and it looks very nice. They have been extremely helpful in answering all my questions.

The Kendwood was very upscale. It had good quality, good food, and good activities. It was very nice and very well done, but it was also very costly. The one thing they could improve was if they could decrease the cost to make it more available. The rooms very clean. The staff was very attentive. They had a 28 meals a month plan. It was actually very excellent. It had a lot of good things about it; it was just a little over our price range.

The Kenwood by Senior Star was awesome. It was nice and big. It was also clean and fresh. It was a fairly new community. The dining room was very nice. They have a little bar area if you want to go there, and it was also nice. Overall, I wouldn't mind living there, but I just couldn't afford it.

A lady had picked us up and brought us to The Kenwood. She was a very nice and gave us a tour. My husband couldn't move fast so she gave us a wheelchair and I pushed him around in a wheelchair. She showed us everything and introduced us to the staff. All of them were very nice people. My husband liked the building. He liked the size of the units. He liked everything that they had. But it was also a place that only had maybe one or two meals a day. They had a sauna. They had pool activities and they had a bingo game going on when we were visiting. We liked everything except that it was high rise.

The Kenwood is one of the nicest senior buildings in the area. It's first class and it's really a nice place. The staff was really nice and they helped us move my parents from their house to the facility. It was a very nice and easy move so that was a big plus. We've eaten there numerous times and the dining room is excellent. The service is also nice. I think the food is great. I would definitely recommend this facility.

Kenwood was a place that seemed nice including the atmosphere and everything. The staff was helpful when I visited and I don't really remember the activities there. The rooms were alright.
