HI I had my Mom here at Morris View for sub acute care and the staff on unit 2B are angels the care they provided is unbelievable Dr. Prager was her Doctor at the facility and he's absolutely fantastic, along with the nursing staff there!! The rooms are nice neat and clean. The food is really good tailored to her diet, along with many alternate meals. my Mom enjoyed the activities program that they had, keeping her engaged was very helpful. the clinical care is superb and that's what counts!!

DO NOT GO HERE - My loved one was there many years for long term care and when the County owned the business it was a much better place. Over the last five and half years we have seen many changes and the last two and half have been terrible. He does not need a lot of care and knew everyone, and the staff missed when he fell last year and broke FIVE ribs and recently, he was having a medical emergency, and no one would come to his aid until another resident called me directly. My loved one was in the hospital for a week and needed a valve replacement! He never had a heart issue, they kept calling it GURD when in fact they never sent him for testing to see what is actually was. The food is terrible, and we brought/sent him canned/packaged food he could cook on his own in microwave. Staffing is constantly changing and is always understaffed. I've had to call the Ombudsman office several times to have resolution on several problems because no one will return a call or email. They even tried to keep his stimulus money. The smell there is horrible and my loved one's room was not cleaned properly. They blamed him and said he wouldn't let them. I asked who is the caretaker you or him? It is your job to make sure he is safe, clean and his room is clean. Nurse said nothing.

Morris View Healthcare Center is a large facility. I like the room size. It's very nice, and the areas seemed light and airy. They had all the amenities I needed, and they were right there on the floor. It's divided into different buildings, so my mom will have the same nurses, caregivers, and aides. They had a very nice outdoor space. In the middle of the winter, you can go into this atrium and bask in the sun. I hadn't seen that in any other places. Then on either side of the atrium, there were doors that would go outside to garden areas. That was a very important thing for me, if this is where she's going to be for a long time. I wanted her to have access to the outside and not just access to a patio. They also had a little canteen store, which was run by the residents. They could buy candy or soda. It was the only place where I saw that. They were also willing to negotiate the price a little bit, which I felt was good. There was a lot of transparency. The admitting person called a social worker (who was walking down the hall) and then another person. They introduced them to me and asked if I had any questions for them specifically. I liked that. I just got a good vibe.

They are always short staffed and they serve my mother, food that would likely not be accepted in a grade school. -dry chicken breast and a potato pattie -Peanutnut butter n jelly lunch -hot dog and fries It's not everyday, but it's too often. Or days in a row of salad for lunch and dinner for days in a row. The facility is not well maintained, and the staff needs to be double.

1 month ago My family member was there for rehab for a fractured hip. He also has other medical issues that would catagorize him as needing complex care at times. His care seemed fragmented. Waiting hours for pain medication or toileting needs when the call light was pressed. Or the diet was incorrect . Perhaps poor Staffing was the source . One nurse actually told him 'you are just one of 50 patients that I have tonight. I'll come back to you when I can' . To make matters worse they lost his clothing, and there was a problem with the air conditioning rendering the room extremely hot for the first 3 days. They used a fan to try to cool the room. Even the physical therapy was not adequate. It seemed the more he complained the more the staff avoided him except for one very kind supervisor Nicole who tried to rectify some of the wrongs but things just kept happening. He wound up with a wound infection of the hip and blood sugars that were out of control and had to return to the hospital for his care. Would not recommend this facility , especially for someone needing a little extra care.

My friend was in Morris View Healthcare Center. He hated it there. He said they were mean to him. They took his call bell away because he called one time, so I would never recommend them to anybody. The people in the administration were wonderful. Whenever we had a problem, that's who I called and they helped correct the problem, but the staff themselves, he said they were mean, and he begged us not to send him back there. We never got to see the room. Because of Covid, we couldn't go in. He hated the food, but he was very picky. He was in rehab, so he didn't attend any activities. He went to the hospital before he even began any real therapy other than in the bed. The facility seemed nice. We went to a group room where they could have visitors on certain days, and that seemed like a good way to meet the need for visitation.

I was a sub-acute/rehab patient for two weeks. I had a very nice private room. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered numerous problems during my stay: - Getting my surgical wound dressing changed was a battle. One nurse didn’t know how to change the dressing. A night nurse refused to change my dressing; stating it’s the AM nurses’ job to change dressings. To boot, my aide always had to track down the nurse to change my dressings (usually a 2 hr wait). - I suffered from severe tension headaches during my stay. The nurses only offered either Percocet (triggers headaches) or Tylenol (which didn’t work at all). It took 10 days to receive one dose of Excederin from the nurses. - I rang the call bell once to request a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. The responding aide was cursing about wasting her time with my request...and then kicked my walker down in anger when she entered my bathroom. - I gave my surgeon’s info to the admitting staff to coordinate booking my post-op Appt w/transport. Found out the hard way on the Appt day that nothing was set up. It was eventually set up the same day as it was urgent for me to see the surgeon that day. As I had to have additional emergency surgery due to an infection...I was able to transfer to another rehab facility upon my hospital discharge. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to my worst enemy!

Morris View Healthcare Center seemed very clean, and everybody was very nice. The size of the rooms was very nice, too. The problem is, my husband is going to be quarantined for the time that he will be there, so he can't go to the dining area. He is just going to stay there for a week for respite care, and this is the only place that we've found that would take him for a week. I just saw one man, and he was wonderful and very nice. I also said "hello" to some people in the hallway.

Run! Mom was supposed to be put into a "5 Star" sub acute, single room. Not this dump! Upon arrival told it was closed due to lack of staff and she was being put in general nursing with roommate while exposing her to C-19 after negative tests. Staff and desk area wear partial masks exposing most of their faces. She said "get me out of here" They took her to a urine/feces stench floor and basically dumped her into a cheap bed after having spinal fracture and severe stroke and immobile! After several attempts to contact nurses with button, she call me crying. I called front desk to be rudely transferred to nurses station where I had no answer and a full voicemail box. If you want your loved one left in this type of care, then you deserve what you get! I got her out of there within 48 hours and moved to an A+ facility where she is receiving the proper care, in an immaculate single room, designated team helping her recover. Even her transportation driver said when he got to her floor he almost threw up from the stench with his mask on! Not worth even 1 star. Oh, and the prison is attached to the grounds within steps away from front door! Yes, I have pictures to support everything too!

I had the pleasure of staying at Morris View while recuperating from surgery. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience as I had been told negative things before being admitted. The facility is very large and it is kept very clean. The staff are kind and helpful in all areas. They are very interactive with the residents and have activities available. I recieved excellent care and did not want to leave. There is too much positive to list but I would go back if the opportunity arises.

I toured facility, I got interactions with the staff and residents, basically this is an amazing place, people are nice. I was in and out visiting this place for 6 weeks, I met most of the visitors who came here couple of times a week and having great satisfaction to the care provided by the staff to their love ones. I observed residents exercising their PT and OT in gym, I saw the residents also enjoyed recreational activities according to their monthly calendar. The nursing manager is very experienced RN who organized her unit well. I thank you to staff and residents, I will visit you all again.

This facility while it may have a good reputation and I have worked with them on a professional basis just has gone down hill since being bought by a private company. The customer service is poor and while im not surprised it was disappointing. My loved one really wanted to be in this facility but the lack of follow up and collaboration with the sending facility even with the advocacy of knowledgeable family members, couldn't get it done. I feel badly for a lot of the folks who will be referred to this facility who have no one to help them. However, I have had several friends subsequent who have worked there and are nursing staff current and ex, that would not send their family members there because of the crummy care. I hope that if your family member goes that you do not experience this....God Speed

My grandmother was at Morris View for rehab and received the royal treatment. Not only was she rehabilitated, but she was treated with such love and respect that she didn't want to go home. The staff at Morris View was so caring and wonderful and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing rehab.

I would not recommend this place at all. The house docoter doesn't communicate with the patients regular docter. They dont let you know what's going on, it took us a week to get a listing of medications. Test were ordered that were not necessary, the patient or the family were not aware of test. My grandmother was basically being over medicated. They were under staff which effects the paients. The social worker is supposed to be helpful not at all. It was a joke and the place should be ashamed. I will say the nursed aids were very pleasent and tried to be helpful.

First I want to point out that the long term/nursing home floors and the short term rehab section are so different you have to see it to believe it. The rehab floor has actual staff who treats patients with some compassion and respect, they acknowledge you and can be understood, the patients rooms and walls are actually clean, patients are not left in small rooms shoved into a corner up against a dirty wall falling into open wall sockets, patients in bed with injuries have access to water and are not left helpless laying in soiled diapers. None of these things can be said for patients in the long term patient floors. If you have other options for long term care, use them!

My father was in Morris View since June. The place is excellent, with a excellent caring and knowledgeable staff. It’s extremely clean, it has very nice surroundings, and it has nice common areas like a courtyard. The rooms were shared and kind of average. It looks like they have lots of activities. My dad doesn’t love the food.

My father was a patient at Morris View Healthcare Center. It was a big place. It offered assisted living and a nursing home. They were wonderful. I would absolutely recommend them to others. They're very caring especially towards the end where my father was getting a little bit where he wasn't sure where he was and stuff like that, but they were very good. They did a lot of activities there but my father just didn't do much. He also ate mostly in his room. Nevertheless, this facility was great. The only reason we took him out of there was the price. We couldn't afford it.

I looked at a lot of facilities and I think Morris View has a lot to offer and it is relatively close to where I live that's why I move my mom there and she seems to be doing okay right now. She's involve in therapy in PT and occupational therapy. The food is good, I have tasted it myself and she's eating pretty well. They are two in the room but it seems to be adequate and it's very clean. No matter where you go, it's very clean. Everything seems to be in order.

Morris View is a county-run and it's absolutely the best public nursing home. The reason I say "public" is because we searched far and wide throughout Northern Jersey. They are taking people who are just Medicaid and Medicare. We have put how many miles in hopes on facilities where we had no chance of being accepted because we don't have private pay. That little 'Private Pay, Medicare and Medicaid' means, there's an order there and it's pay first and then Medicaid and Medicare if you ended up hospitalized and you come back and you need that temporary cover. Morris View is the one that honestly accepts Medicaid and it has the best care even though it's a county-run nursing home.
