My mom was here for a few years and it was terrible. Food was not edible. My mom continued to lose weight. They are severely understaffed. One helper to about 20 patient ratio. I contacted (which was difficult to locate) senior management to share my concerns to no avail, I cannot believe the state has not closed this facility. Thankfully I was able to relocate her to a capable & caring facility.

My father was in Canterbury Care & Rehabilitation. The nurses were wonderful, but the facility was terrible. The food was absolutely atrocious. He lost almost 20 or 30 pounds living there. The facility was rundown and old. They didn't know where he was when I took him out for doctors' appointments. When I came back from doctor appointments, they had no idea that he was even back. Elevators were broken all the time, bathrooms were not maintained, and the rooms were in disarray, old, and nothing worked. They lost my father's laundry and teeth. They need to improve on communication and daily cleanliness.

Canterbury in Cedar Grove, New Jersey is a phenomenal nursing home. My grandfather was there for 2 weeks to 1 month. The place is very clean and the lobby is very trendy. The nurses take amazing care of their patients and are very friendly. The nurses were professional but grew to have relationships with their patients. They kept the patients and the facilities safe and clean. One of the perks to the nursing home was the location, it is off a main road and very private. The best part was the events and activates they offered to their patients. They had weekend events that included a Circus Day with petting zoo. The facility really took the time to protect, take care of their patients, and to make sure they had a good time. The physical therapy aspect was very good as well; nurses pushed their patients but not too far.

I place my Mom at Canterbury for respite. When I picked her up she had a large bruise on her arm, her eyes were swollen and she had rashes under her breasts and between her legs. She was in a terrible state.
