Right now, my mom is at Park Crescent Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for rehab. They are helping her with speech, and they are helping her to walk. I was there for one of the sessions, and I got her motivated a little to take a walk and stand and stuff. I like them. They're very pleasant, and they keep me posted. They call me if they give her any kind of medicine. My mom was dehydrated, and they called me about that. She has a UTI right now, and they called and told me that because they did urine and blood work on her. They don't just do things, they call me and get my permission to allow them to do whatever. They're very good. They're very caring. I've even noticed that with the other patients there. I like the place. That's why I want to try to keep my mom there as long-term care. I'm very pleased with the place. So far, they have been excellent to me as far as taking care of my mother, and I'm very, very fussy about my mom and how to take care of her. But they're very nice, very thoughtful, and caring. My mother was sleeping over in her wheelchair, and I went to straighten her up, and they said, 'No, no, no, no. We'll do that.' They don't even let me touch my mother. I can't even roll her from her room to the lunchroom where they have lunch, they have to do it. They do everything. It's nice very facility. They're clean. They keep my mom clean. Sometimes I bring my mom food in because she won't eat. She doesn't like it. I looked at it and I could tell it's not that great. The room my mom is in is nice and clean. It's warm and comfortable in her room. She now has a roommate, but it's nice. Right now, I have no complaints about them. The staff members are excellent. I came in here, and I had been crying and they had been good to me, calming me down and everything. In terms of activities, my mom doesn't care about doing anything, but I did get her a little bit interested in it. We played Chinese bingo, and I thought it was fun. It was my first time playing it. She got into it, too, and she seemed to like it. But they were like, 'If she doesn't want to play, she doesn't have to.'

The university hospital sent my husband to Park Crescent Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center because he doesn't have insurance. My husband wants to leave because he has been here for about three months now and wants to be with his family. But most of the time he says that nurses are so good to him and even more, he has three 'mothers here that who are so kind to him. My husband has psoriasis. The important problem here is that they have to take care of my husband's skin but they don't do that. He needs my help to clean his skin and to put his cream on. Also at the beginning, they don't give him enough showers. Sometimes he got three showers a week. But they are now taking care of him better, so that's good for us. The room is so simple, but sometimes there is a lack of cleaning. They are not so good at cleaning the rooms. The bathroom is always dirty. We have to clean it. It smells bad. The room is shared. There are two people here. They don't clean the floors, the sink and the toilet. That's a big problem here, but my husband is not in his room the whole day. The rehab personnel are good. My husband has almost one hour every day of rehabilitation. And he has some good improvement even when the stroke was so hard. Now he's much better.

Park Crescent Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center wasn't attending to my mother properly. I would come and visit and I'll call and they couldn't find her. They would just say that she's somewhere in the building when she should have been on a specific wing. They had a dining room and an outside little garden. During the time she was there, it was COVID, so there wasn't much going on.

This place sucks! The rooms aren't as safe while your loved ones are sleeping; The bedrails are as safe. My father nearly fell from his bed. They also have roaches crawling in this facility, which is a very uncomfortable stay. The nurses, well, some aren't responsive as needed, and the food definitely could be prepared better for our seniors. Please visit this facility before you have your loved ones commit to residing here.

Park Crescent Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center was terrible. They're understaffed and undereducated and they don't have all the equipment that they need to be taking care of the senior citizens. The place would probably be a better place if they had the supervision and the floor managers had the knowledge that they're supposed to have. They don't know what they're doing there. The room was basic. The food was OK. They're a nursing home so I guess it is what it is. Communication wise within the floor nurses and the night nurses was terrible. No one knows anything, because they have so many residents per floor. It's a lot for them. They had residents that were trying to escape. The day my grandfather passed and we were taking him out, two residents tried to escape with us, telling us to take them with them because they didn't want to be there anymore. There were no nurses in sight at all. The paramedics had to walk them back into the floor and wait for someone to come out, like when the nurses come to the desk, so they can give them back to them. When I said they're understaffed, they're understaffed. Everything needs to be changed in there.

My parent is a long term resident at this facility and I am very pleased with the services that are provided. The staff are professional , polite and caring. The food is good and activities are consistently fun. The rooms ( long term) are newly renovated with brand floors ,sinks and beds. Weekly BBQs on the patio in the summertime and shopping trips are offered as well. I would definitely recommend this community.

I was very satisfied with the care at Park Crescent nursing and rehab in East Orange, NJ. Social services was also very responsible and kept my daughter in the loop constantly. This helped me find comfort and peace of mind knowing that my daughter understood and stayed on top of my care plan.

From the first time I entered their building to visit a resident, I was impressed. My feelings were confirmed by the receptionist and I also met several residents who were raiding the snack machine! They appeared so happy and comfortable with their surroundings. We chose to place our loved one at Park Crescent Healthcare and Rehabilitation and we are very happy we did.

The Park Crescent Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center is a beautiful facility, but their caregivers need to be constantly reminded about the importance of treating patients gently like they would want to be treated. They all appeared to be nice to my friend, and she doesn't complain or anything, but I've seen a little meanness from a few of them.

I am not sure that I want to say that this is not a place to put a loved one, but I agree that patients sometimes have to sit for long period before a staff member sees them. One staff person told me that they have to do so much and at times, it takes them longer to get to the patients. I haven’t had anyone disrespect my mother while I was there, but she did tell me that they did get angry at her a couple of times and took extra long to get to her when she rang the buzzer--when you ring the buzzer you should get attention quicker not slower. Based on what I see, I think that the food is bad; I would not dare try tasting anything. I know that there are much better facilities, but I also know that there are some that are worse. Nevertheless, I think that if I were to be selecting where I put my mother, I do not think that this would be one of my top ten choices.

This is not a place to put a loved one unless you are able to sit up there with them. The staff talk down to the elderly with no regards to what they have stated the problem is. Roommate of my grandparent, grandparent and next door neighbor got into a heated discussion. They removed my grandparent from the floor. Even though he was defending himself against comments. Stating that he better watch himself or the next place would be out of the home. I was there to witness the whole event and explained to the social worker what had happened. I was told to "bugger off" and let them do their job. Also personal items went missing when he was in the hospital. Staff tried to replace missing items with items that were just left there by another patient. My aunt did not bother to research this facility. I wish she did.
