"We went here, and my mom didn't like it. It was beautiful and very modern, but they would have had to put her on the 5th floor, and the nursing station was on the second floor, and I wasn't comfortable with that. I think it was too big of a facility for her."

"Right now, we're in Lake Ashton. My husband loves to play golf, so that's perfect for him. The staff members are excellent. Everybody is just super, super nice. However, I don't care for the dining room because it's all like barbecue food. Our home has over 2000 living areas. It has a two-car garage plus a golf cart garage, so it's a corner lot. It's nice and high. I have hurricane shutters all the way around and a generator, so don't need to worry about hurricanes. They serve food at two places. One is in the main clubhouse and there's a big dining area and that's where they serve food also. It's a lot of barbeques, and I'm not a big fan of barbeque but my husband likes it. We have a homeowner's association that has a community of people that go through the neighborhood and make sure they would water the lawn, and make sure their shrub trees were trimmed. This is a very nice subdivision. It's wonderful, and they're very cooperative, too. They go out of their way to take care of everybody. They have a lot of entertainment. They run movies constantly. They have a movie theater. They do a good job. They have bocce ball, tennis court, and dog park. It just goes on and on and on. Everything you could ever want is here. You would have to be exhausted if you did it for a week."

"We toured Orange Manor West. I like how clean it is, and it's very well taken care of. The roads are smooth, and everything is beautiful. The staff I met was very nice. All of them are modular homes. It was all wonderful. The only thing I don't like is that sometimes the fee for the land is so high. The atmosphere was very friendly."

"It was beautiful. The people there were very interested in why we were there. They talked to us. The residents and the staff were very friendly and very informative. Everybody seemed to love everything about it. The apartments were beautiful. We saw the dining area, the living area, and all the common areas. We saw 2 different rooms. I saw the kitchen, but we didn't go into the kitchen. They had a beautiful courtyard where it's 100% safe for the residents to be out there because they can't get out."

"I visited The Meetinghouse at Bartow last year. It's for low-income people, and it's been there for a while now. It's a nice place, and people like to live there. I never really met anyone except the person in charge of the apartments, but he was really nice. It's an independent place to live for seniors. It's nice, it's clean, and the people are very nice. It's in a location where it's easy to go places, and I like it; it's a nice location."

"I toured both the assisted living and memory care sections of Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace. I met the manager, and I know that he was looking out for the best for his residents, but I just didn't like the way he presented himself. I also think that they have more restrictions. The staff was wonderful. The place was nice, and the upkeep was good. It just didn't feel right for me."

"Solivita was very nice, and I would really select it if it wasn't so far away. They took us everywhere, gave us a wonderful dinner, and we had a wonderful time. I would recommend if you live near there. The food was wonderful, it was a lovely dinner, and they were very pleasant and very helpful. They didn't have a pool when we were there, but they were going to build one."

"We toured Florida Presbyterian Homes. It's a CCRC where you buy into it. Instead of being on a single campus, they own individual homes and they also have apartment buildings. They were built in a four-city block area. So, you have to travel a little bit more. You would have to drive either a golf cart or some form of transportation to go to the restaurant. Their pricing was honestly much better than other places. It's in a beautiful location with well-kept yards and homes. The one thing that I liked that I haven't seen at the others is they have a chapel, and they have an on-site minister. They provide a regular church service on a regular Sunday basis. The staff that I met was very nice and very personable."

"I'm going back to Merrill Gardens at ChampionsGate tomorrow. It's a beautiful place. Everybody there really cared. I had therapy there. They were all wonderful and just everybody was friendly and nice. The food was delicious. I couldn't say anything bad about Merrill Gardens. I have a little dog, so now we're going to be on the bottom floor, and I will have a gated screen, a little tiny lanai, and French doors, and he gets to run out on the court without a leash because it's all fenced. The pool is right across."

"I visited Mas Verde Mobile Home Estates. It was too expensive. It's basically modular homes, and there are some trailers in there. It was a very nice community. It was very well kept, and I was trying to get away from having to mow my garden and do stuff like that. They didn't do that there, and they charge more. They have a pool, and they have a place where you can go eat if you don't like to cook. You could go in and have a meal in the dining room. They have an exercise room, and the pool. The dining room was empty. It's just a bunch of chairs. They have a kitchen. I don't know how they work, and I don't know if you have to tell them ahead of time, so they know how much to cook. They were kind of expensive. The staff members were very nice and helpful. They gave me lots of information and paperwork and stuff, and they mailed paperwork. The apartment was in very nice condition. It had been remodeled. It was a two-bedroom, living room, dining room. They had a carport and an outside laundry room. It's not a gym, but they have workout equipment. People can go in there, and they can ride their bikes. Their animals have to be kept on chains if they have them. You can have pets, but you have to keep them under control. You had to go down to get license tags; you have to get this for your household. You have to get stickers, they used to give you license plates. They looked very nice. It was very clean."

"We had a good tour at Osprey Manor. We met some of the residents there and they seemed very engaged and happy. The rooms were clean. The lobby area was clean. They had an elevator, and they had a lot of amenities to offer. We really liked the way that the meals were handled, how it felt almost like a restaurant rather than like cafeteria-style. Most of the residents choose to just order their dinner and pick it up and take it back to their rooms rather than dining in in the evenings. The staff was very helpful while we were there. However, they didn't get back to us and kind of left us hanging. I felt like they were really pushing us towards the studio apartment because that's what they had open. They did their job, they just didn't go above and beyond."

"I like the fact that Beacon Terrace has residents who are related to me and are elderly. It has a nice area. It’s very current and modern. They have activities, like shuffleboard and things like that. They have the ability to have outside assistance, too. "
