My husband is now at The Phoenix at Lake Joy. There's a couple of things they have no control over. For instance, the way the building was constructed and the setup of the rooms. I would have designed it differently, but that's not their fault. We had a rocky start. But in all fairness to everybody, this was new for me, and my husband was new to them. When he went into memory care, he had a hard time, and he was more confused. But they worked with me, and I worked with them. We teamed up together. They've all gotten to know my husband. They've learned a few things; I've learned a few things. As of today, he's doing really well. We got medication straightened out and they were helpful with that. They listen to me and I listen to them. Overall, I'm pretty much pleased with them. There was nobody that wasn't willing to talk to me about anything, and I liked that. From the person who is, the boss, all the way down to the CNAs and the people that work the hall, everybody was open and everybody listened. I think my husband is doing better because they listen to me about some of his glitches. We've learned together that the best thing to do, unless he's in harm's way or somebody else is, just say, "Okay, no problem," and move on and then come back later. And that strategy has been working very well. The staff members on the floor that I deal with face to face every day are truly dedicated. They've done their job as best they can. They allow me to use sitters because my husband was having such a hard time. I put some sitters with my husband to help him transition, because he was used to having me with him all the time. I was not expecting their staff to be able to sit in the room and be with him because they had other people. They were very open to that and allowed that, and so I kept sitters in there until I was comfortable that he had transitioned enough that he wasn't putting them or anybody else at risk. The facility is within four minutes of my home, and so I can be there. I also like the fact that I have 24/7 access. I probably get there at 6:30 after my husband has had dinner, and I spend at least two or three hours with him in the evening. I can stay as late as I want. I usually leave around 10:00 at the latest, and if I wanted to, I could spend the night.

My father was at the Phoenix at Lake Joy. It was a very nice place. It's very clean and very beautiful. The staff was absolutely wonderful. My mother was there too, and she was there for several months before she ended up going into hospice, and they were very caring and very kind to her. I didn't try their food, but before my father had heart failure, which put him into hospice, he raved about the food. He was like, "The food here is awesome." So he was really pleased with it. The community was wonderful. My father was in a room that was designed for two people, which would have made it rather small, but he ended up having the room himself. The cost was just a little bit more, not a tremendous increase to have the room to himself, so I just chose that he had the entire room. He had like a little bedroom area and a little living room area, so it was very nice. They had a lot of activities. They had church services on Sunday. They had games going on all the time. There was a lot going on for people there. I could hear laughter and I could hear singing when they had church services, so I know they had a lot going on. I thought the value the for the money was exceptional.

My wife is on a waiting list at The Phoenix at Lake Joy. It's a memory home. The most I like about it is the wide open entryways and wide open hallways. You could use a motorized wheelchair if you wanted to, and people could get by either way. I loved that. It was all nice hardwood floors. It was very nicely done. The rooms were excellent. The people were excellent. I enjoyed everything they said about what they would do for my wife if I put her there. They went to extreme detail to show me everything and tell me everything that was supposed to be done. They have to interview her to see where she's at and see what they can do for her based on that. They can do everything from game things to puzzles to having her memory stay where it's supposed to be. They do extra care at night. They do every-hour checks, and that's what I liked the most. They have a patio, a playground, and a beauty parlor, which is great because you can just schedule it and they'll come to your room or you can go to their room. They have wide open TVs, wide open game rooms, and they have a movie theater with huge cushioned seats to sit in. I thought that was excellent. They sat me down for over an hour personally talking to me and none of the others did that. These people went above and beyond telling me what they were going to do and how they were going to do it, this is what happens, this is where it goes. They displayed everything for me. Michelle gave me pamphlets for things to help me with the pricing of the room and who could help me with the pricing. She gave me everything I needed to have, so it was great. They showed me what the menus are but it's based upon what the person likes. The facility was great. It was clean and nice, everything worked, and it was wonderful.

The memory care community of The Phoenix at Lake Joy was beautiful. The rooms were pretty large and it was a very, very nice facility. The lady that gave the tour was fine. The only thing we didn't like was that they didn't have any availability. I think she said it would be in September or October. The dining area was very nice and adequate. The outdoor spaces were also very nice, very adequate, and very secure. It's a newer facility so it was well-kept, well-maintained, and very clean.

I have just moved my parents into The Phoenix at Lake Joy. I like the way they have the place set up and the way they run the day-to-day operations. It's very clean. No smells. It's a nice facility. My parents live there together in a single one-bedroom apartment. I hadn't met many of the staff as far as the administrators and the nurses, but everybody seems to be fine. I haven't tried their food, but my parents said they like it. The dining area is set up like a regular restaurant. It's semi-formal. They have their own table, and the chef prepares the meals. They have a movie theater. It is just like a cruise ship. As far as I can tell, they have outings, they have bingo, they have reading times, they have a quilting room, and they have like a bar. They have a veteran's section, too. However, it's a lot of money.

The facilities and the grounds at The Phoenix at Lake Joy are well-cared for. The sitting area at the entrance is very nice and eye pleasing. The apartments are great. Some of the staff don't do well with others, but in general, they are good. They have several activities and my wife particularly likes bingo. They also have puzzles, movies, and exercises as a group on certain days. The food is always good. The dining area is all well kept and the staff there are very courteous and helpful in assisting those residents who needed help.

The Phoenix at Lake Joy looked beautiful from the outside. They offered a lot of amenities, but they were a little pricier. They were in the middle of cleaning while I was there, and the deodorizer that they used was just strong to me. They had a large gathering of people at a roundtable having their lunch and everyone seemed happy enough. The rooms that they showed me were well- decorated and nice. The staff who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable and helpful. I saw a courtyard, a salon, and a small theater. It was located near restaurants, a pharmacy, Walmart, and it was across the street from a hair salon.

I like the people at The Phoenix at Lake Joy. They were all really knowledgeable about the field, and it made me feel like they knew what they were doing. They had a bunch of different room options based on what you needed, so that was great. So, I feel like in the long term it would be the best solution. We can change Mom's room based on different situations that come up. The rooms that I saw were nice, they had a good layout, and everything was accessible and well-kept. They're working on redoing all the maintenance before my mom moves in. Their dining area was nice, very open, and welcoming, and they had quite a little bit of activities.

My mom moved into The Phoenix at Lake Joy. It was excellent. My mom is thriving and making friends. The staff is wonderful and very caring. The facility is very clean. The food is excellent. Everything is positive. They have a lot of activities. They have bingo, craft, happy hour, movie time, and a lot of social activities. It's a beautiful facility. The staff members are fantastic. They go out of their way to make sure my mom feels comfortable. My mom said the food was really good. Her apartment is large and beautifully designed. She has a queen size bed in there. It's a little bit more expensive than where my mom came from, but the value is much more worth it. They have different levels of care in assisted living, so you kind of pay accordingly. It means that someone who might need a little bit more assistance doesn't have to go to a nursing home.

I toured The Phoenix at Lake Joy for my mother. It was great, but it was a little out of our price range. I liked it. It was very friendly, and that's what I'm looking for. They were very involved with the seniors, and that's really all I'm looking for. The place was clean, and they had an outdoor living space for the people. It was wide open, and it was friendly. We went there while they were eating, and they were enjoying it. They were laughing. They were sitting down and getting up and talking to each other; it was good. I was really happy. The staff is great. The seniors were walking up to them and hugging them. That meant that they were very involved, and they were happy with them; they accepted it.

I like that The Phoenix at Lake Joy had a variety of opportunities to interact with others. They had a lot of different, attractive venues within their facility that would tend to pull in people. I like the patio, I like that they have a playground for grandchildren, and I love that they had a theater-style movie-viewing room. The staff was great. It felt more homey. Everybody we passed spoke to us and smiled. They have very friendly and attentive staff, as far as I could tell. It's very clean.

The Facility is Beautiful! Management is very easy to get in touch with and understanding when it comes to the residents and family needs. Staff really seem to care about the needs of all of the residents. The activity Director and her team have really come up with really neat ideas for the residents during these trying times, that the residents really have enjoyed. The rooms are really nice . The are not small , where the residents have plenty of room to decorate and make it as comfortable as as they want.

My mother has been a memory care resident for nearly three years. She is well loved and cared for at The Phoenix at Lake Joy. She loves all the activities and the staff. My sister and I consider the staff part of our extended family. I am very thankful for the care my mother receives at Lake Joy!

I have been very happy with the care my mother receives at this facility. She seems well cared for and happy. Her room is spacious and has a private bathroom. I get regular emails with updates from the director. If I call or text, my questions are answered promptly. I appreciate the effort the staff makes to upload pictures on social media.

Great physical facility, but care given to residents is very poor. Huge disconnect between administrative staff and those who actually do the work. Only staff member that does a good job is the activities director. Very secretive organization as far as communication to resident and family members.

We chose Lake Joy for my mother-in-law. I was very impressed. The people working there are very friendly and answer all your questions. The place is clean, there is no odor, and it's very nice. Her room is very spacious. The lunch we had was good, but it takes a long time to get it. They come to everybody's table and ask them what they want, but it's 40 to 45 minutes before you even see a plate come to the table. The food is great and if you have the time to wait, there's no problem. The waiting time could use some improvement. They ought to have a table for those who have appointments coming up in the morning and need breakfast right away. They had a wine night, and she has a paint session coming up, they have a hairdresser on-site, and she just walks in there, gets an appointment and it goes right onto her bill. It's perfect. The staff is very attentive.

Lake Joy was brand new, the rooms were nice-sized, and the people I interacted with seemed very friendly, but they were expensive. It's a good central location to pretty much everything in Warner Robins, like doctors and theaters.
