I couldn't be happier with Country Manor Estates. When I went there to visit the place and spoke to the lady that runs it, I was just convinced. It's a home and it didn't look like an institution. It's in the country, so it's very relaxing, and it's not overcrowded so my mom can get more individual time. They were also willing to work with what my mom can afford. The meals are home-cooked and they sit and eat together at one big table like a big family. The have activities for the residents like coloring, and a pastor comes on Sundays to have church services with them.

We have gone to visit Country Manor Estates. It's a personal-care home in Macon. I thought it was pretty good. It very much had a country feel, and they're out in the country. They're very low key and not fancy at all. It's clean and nice, but not in any way dressy, fancy, or anything. It's like you're living with a family. The lady who ran it was very nice; we liked her a lot. It felt really comfortable being with her. I think my mother-in-law would like it. I just don't know if she'll go, but if she went there, she would probably enjoy it. We were impressed with that place. The rooms were nice. There was one that was really nice; I would probably pick that one if we were to go there. We liked the rooms; they were comfortable looking. I didn't look at all of them, though. I just looked at the ones that were available. Again, they're very "country." The bed has kind of a quilt spread on it, so they don't look really dressy or fancy. It's just like being in your grandma's home, but it was nice. The decorations were not pretty, but they're more functional. It's like living in somebody's house. It's not pretty, but it's sturdy and nice, and it's very comfortable. They have a front porch that's really shady where they can sit. There's a garage where you can load in and out of your car or whatever. There's even a golf cart. Sometimes if the residents want to go around, they can take them on a golf cart. There probably is some kind of a back patio, too, in the backyard. I remember the front porch particularly had a porch swing on it. The dining is more like a kitchen with a big, long, country table. There is an area off to the side that's kind of like an extra dining room for when they have parties or anything like that. You would definitely not call it assisted living. It's more like a personal-care home, which is different for me. There's a smaller staff and not very many residents. There were only three or four residents there.

Country Manor Estates Personal Care Home is the answer to my prayers. My mother gets excellent care and I do not worry about her at all. Ms. Faye G. and her staff are wonderful! It is a "home" and not a facility. The elderly who live there are treated with kindness and respect. I highly recommend this to you or your family members.

I liked Country Manor Estate because it was a small facility with only 6 residents. It was basically the director's house that she had added rooms to, but I could tell that everybody had individual care. She doesn't take medicaid, but I can afford the rates. They do things as a group and they go to places. She saw to it that everybody had activities to do and I liked that a lot. They had meals on the table. She cooks fresh vegetables and they go to farmer's market and get food. They had a garden out back and they grow some of their own food. My only concern was that the lady who runs it, though she had two people to clean, but she does everything and she's in her late 60s. So, if anything happened to her, they going to be hanging and I am nervous that there was only one person responsible for the whole thing. There were a lot of things in the house that needed to be update, but that's a minor thing because when it came to the care, I thought she made a wonderful job.
