These include one-on-one and group counseling for those dealing with depression, PTSD and bereavement. The Center can also refer vets affected by military sexual trauma and substance abuse, as well as those who may need medical services provided by the VA Orlando Health Care System.
Community Legal Services(800) 405-1417Community Legal Services is a well-established not-for-profit law firm committed to ensuring society's more vulnerable members, such as seniors on low incomes, get access to quality legal advice and support. There's no cost for the firm's services, which cover many aspects of civil law, including issues of receiving government benefits, power of attorney, refusal of health coverage due to age and reverse mortgage foreclosures. The firm can also help with issues unrelated to age, such as consumer debt, identity theft and food assistance.
Easterseals Equipment Loan Closet(877) 255-4568Easterseals is a nonprofit operating statewide that manages a medical equipment loan closet from its Daytona Beach office. The program supports seniors on low incomes who would struggle to pay for durable medical equipment, such as a wheelchair, rollator walker with a seat or a folding walker. Other equipment for use indoors is also available, although subject to donations from benefactors. Loans can be for short and long terms and are free of charge, although the organization asks for a donation to support the program.
