We chose Wickshire Senior Living Port Orange for my aunt and uncle. It's much cheaper than the others. They've been there for two weeks now. It's a very easy move-in, and they have very accommodating staff. They have very spacious apartments compared to other assisted living. The food is good, too. They have the same activities as others. They have a sangria night, which my aunt and uncle like. The staff members are very friendly and helpful.

My sister has moved into Wickshire Port Orange. She was evaluated in one day, and she got to move in the next day. It was super important for us to find a facility for her. Her room just has a bedroom and a bath. It's a studio because that was the only one that was available. When we were doing the paperwork, they brought us over some food. My sister is enjoying the food, and she says it's very tasty. It's not like a gourmet meal, but it's a good tasting meal. She has many options. She has Parkinson's. She has to have certain foods, and there are some that she can't have, so they accommodate her. They have a couple of happy hours and entertainment for them. They have an art studio. They have musicians come in every week. Once a month, they have dogs that come in. They have line dancing. They have a lot of extra fun events for the people that live there to enjoy. They have a shuttle service to take her to her doctors and PT. Someone comes in and cleans her room once a week. She doesn't need help getting in the shower, but if you need it, they provide that level of service. They also do her laundry. We had a little issue with her medicines. Getting her medicines in a timely manner was an issue. Also giving her the right medication had been an issue. She has almost been there a month, so it's taken them about a month to get everything straight on the medication side.

The Wickshire Port Orange is completely thumbs down for me. I was not impressed with the facility in any way, at all. The lady who was supposed to take us on a tour had a personal matter to take care of and I understand that, however, the person standing in for her was very unprofessional. She came into the room and was snapping and chewing gum. I didn't need to see that. She then said, "So I'm really not supposed to be doing this but okay. So any questions?" When we were walking around, she said nothing, and my brother and I were just kind of looking at each other. Then we were asking questions and it was like, "So do you have activities here for residents?" and she answered, "We do" and then dead silence. She did not even say what they were and I did not care for that at all. I heard a staff member speak in a very condescending tone to a resident too. That was not physical violence, but I was not impressed with the tone at all. I wouldn't put anybody there, personally. We could not get in and out fast enough. It was the assisted living that we saw and the rooms were a little bit smaller than the others we've seen. Their price was much cheaper though. I was just not impressed with it, not even a little bit. A lot of people were in the cafeteria that they have. I didn't see what they were being served though and I didn't ask any residents about their thoughts on that but the area was clean and pretty spacious. They served the food to those who live there but it was not on the same level as the other facilities that we had seen, not even in the same ballpark. The only reason that we visited Wickshire was that my father was being discharged from the hospital and he could not go home and live on his own. We were kind of pressed, but we weren't going to put him somewhere where he was not going to be cared for properly. It would have been a better pricing for us, but I wouldn't put anyone there.

I toured Atria Port Orange. They're pretty comparable to all the others that I toured. It's hard to get a grasp on how everything operates when you're just there for a little bit and take a tour of the building. The woman that I spoke to was very informative. I saw the facility, but then we didn't move my mom at that point. They have all the usual things, a nice dining area, and I remember that they had a scheduled entertainment for the residents, so I know there was something that came every week for entertainment; of course this is pre-COVID when I was there. I didn't savor any kind of meal or anything like that, so I just took a tour of the building. I saw one room for assisted living, it was very nice. It's an older building, but it seems to me like they were doing their best to keep things up, like I know that the apartments that I looked at had just been personally painted, and they had put down new carpeting; those type of things. It was well maintained.

My aunt moved to Wickshire Port Orange the 9th of this month. I did both in-person visit and virtual tour. I checked reviews on it while it was under a different name, and reviews were all good. I gave my aunt the final option of 3 locations, and she picked this one based on floor lay out, amenities, and staff. The rooms are beautiful; they're spacious, her furniture and stuff everything went well. The staff is outstanding; the higher staff has been outstanding. I was looking for a place for my aunt for some physical assistance, ability to recover, be taken cared of, be fed, laundry, and all things like that done. And they offered me the best options. Because of Covid, there's not a lot of activities occurring. There's stuff that is occurring that the community is doing in-house. So much stuff has been put on hold because of Covid.

Atria Port Orange is a phenomenal place. My mother gets excellent care, everybody is concerned about her, they communicate all the time with us, and I can't speak highly enough about them. The staff is great, very helpful, caring, loving, they get everything done that needs to be done, and they're very professional. She has a big room. They do games with them that help them to use their upper body strength, they do yoga every day, they exercise, and they take them outside when the weather is nice, but they're locked up due to the virus; normally they would go on trips.

My mother is doing very well at Atria Port Orange. Everything is good. The compassion, respect, and interaction with the residents is far beyond anything I saw anywhere else. Her room is clean, always neat, and tidy. It has a very positive feel to it all the way around. They provide very appropriate activities. Her total demeanor has changed. She's not cranky, she's gotten her sense of humor back, and she's happy. It's a locked down facility, but you don't get that feeling at all once you're inside.

It's is a big place and it had a lot of people everywhere, but it looked a bit hectic. We saw people go in and out the door freely and that scared me a little bit. They had elevators, but there were also steps. The rooms however were bigger and nicer than the ones from the previous community we visited. They looked like they had a lot of activities going on, and the calendar appeared to be full. They feed in shifts. They also had nice seating areas inside. We went there on a weekend so we weren't able to talk to the administrative people. The staff treated us very well and the ones in charge seemed pro-active.

Staff was always in an office or standing around, very little contact with residents except to get them to meals on time. I never saw one of the activities listed on the calendar take place.

We chose this community for my father-in-law. The rooms are great. They don't really have many activities going on and only sometimes play music during the day. The staff is OK, but they change staff every time I go in there. I am also totally annoyed at the fact that they just change medications without consulting me.

The marketing director was lovely. She was knowledgeable about the assisted living business. You can tell she had been in it for years. She did a great job of showing me the facility. It was like living in a big hotel. It had 2 stories. I did not like it. It was way too big. It was overwhelming. The rooms were beautiful. There was not anything wrong with it. It was just not going to fit my mother's personality. She is a very reserved and quiet lady.

They toured me around and invited me to lunch. I did not eat there, but they gave me packets of information. It was a very nice facility. They had studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and shared apartments.

I like the location, but it was more nursing home in appearance. The food was horrible. They knew my dad was a diabetic, and his food choice for the vegetable was corn, and then they gave him potato, which was not appropriate. The rooms were much smaller and much more institutional.

I visited this community, and that's the one I was most impressed with. The staff were very pleasing, very knowledgeable, and caring people. They exemplified the care in what they do. It's very clean and homey, and the people were very attentive. It's modern, very pleasing, didn't smell, and the floors were clean.

I was very pleased. It was lovely. The people were all well dressed and well spoken. The apartments were very spacious. It was sort of a combination of bedroom, living room, bathroom, and kitchen.

The one thing that I liked about this community is the staff that I talked with. They seemed caring and seemed to find a way that they could personally get to know the resident before they went to live there. It seemed like there were things to do, and I was pleased with that.

This community was good. It was an equally positive experience as at the other facility we visited. The personnel were very helpful. The rooms were good and adequate, but they weren't as updated as I would prefer. This community offered clubs, crafts, and things like that in-house, which were good. There seemed to be a high participation rate. They also would take residents to different places. Our one objection for this community was that it did not have the highest level of care that we desired or needed at that time. We were looking for an assisted living, but we would like to know that there were competent medical personnel, etc. on duty. No real complaints. It is just, I was looking for a little bit higher level of care, that's all.

It was very welcoming, except for the lady who's behind the desk. The receptionist was a little grumpy. They could have somebody more friendly up front. But everybody else was really nice. It's a beautiful place. The rooms are wonderful. The dining room is really pretty and like a restaurant. I didn't taste the food, but the menu sounds really good. If you don't like something, they'll try to make you something else.

Mom is here. I love it and she loves it. She has a nice large apartment. The staff is very friendly and everybody is super good. I have no complains. I am definitely recommending them to others. She already has a couple of her friends move there.

I was impressed with this community. Although I didn't like the lay out because they just had rooms, the staff seemed fine. I liked what I saw and how happy the people looked.

The rooms were more of a studio type apartment, which was nicely done. Everyone was very nice to me during my visit.

It is really a nice facility. They're all very nice and clean. The staff is very cordial and very helpful. They took me on a nice tour. The rooms look beautiful. However, when I inquired, they have no availability at that time.
