My mother has moved into Sancerre at Orange City. The overall impression when the first time I walked in the door is the reason why I chose them. I would describe her room as luxury living. They have a personal chef that goes above and beyond, and my mother can order whatever she wants. There are events all the time, and there are arts and crafts. This month, they will have a Valentine's special. They have monthly birthday celebrations. In the activity center, there is something every day, and they also have special events. The staff members are above and beyond kind whether they're leaving at the end of an eight-hour day, and you see them in the parking lot, they are very kind, or if they are just coming on. And they always treat my mother basically like a queen, and we do have cameras and watch them.

I'm living in an assisted living place called Sancerre at Orange City. They bring me my medicine, and I requested it in packages so that I actually open the packages and give myself the medicines. I've got the lowest level of care. The facilities are very nice. The staff are well-trained and very personable and interested in my welfare. I don't participate in a lot of activities, although they're available and I could. They have a lot of activities here. They go out to a restaurant about once a week. They have trips, and they have a bus that goes to Walmart and Publix twice a week. There are a lot of things here that I consider since I have no transportation. I have no complaints. I hold a Ph.D., and I've been in some pretty high-level situations, and this is one of the best I've ever been in myself. I can't imagine anything that I don't have here that I've got a gripe about. The staff are excellent. They're very professional and personable. They look after me. The food is fine. They offer a lot of activities. They've got a very good director of that, and I've heard no complaints. I'm very pleased here; I have no complaints at all.

After looking all over Volusia County for the best facility for a loved one, I finally came across Sancerre at Orange City. From the first greeting, I knew I had found the right place. The facility is spotless, top-notch, the rooms are spacious, and the staff is amazing and friendly. The activities are engaging, and the residents are happy to be there! I must add that the food is fantastic and they have a private chef. Overall, this place is 5 STARS. A big shout-out to everyone that makes this place so special! You are on top of your game!

Unfriendly, rude to residence, rooms are often out of toilet paper. They do not clean residence rooms often enough… dirty, sticky floors. The one time a staff member was nice… she was giving a tour of the facility. She stopped by all friendly… said hello. I see her often and those were the only words she has spoken to me. I have spoken to many visitors and they share the same concerns.

Sancerre at Orange City is a new facility. It's clean, and the rooms are spacious. The one advantage there is if the patient needs more assistance, or if they get to a point where their needs are beyond assisted living, they do have a nursing home side to it. They can move the patient to memory care or vice versa, depending on how well they're doing. The only thing is they are a little bit pricier, like they kind of charge you separately that the price goes up as things decline. They give you ample opportunity to find a place once you run out of funds, but you have to find another place to go. That's the downside, and you couldn't qualify for Medicaid there. The memory care facility had some interesting tools for people with dementia. They had little board game things or little knickknacks that can help to exercise your mind. For people who may not be able to get out of a wheelchair or do things, they can sit while doing the activity. You can tell they've done some research and things on helping people with Alzheimer's and dementia there. It looked like a nice facility, it's just something we couldn't afford. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The layout of the building was pretty nice as a brand-new facility, and there was a lot of lighting.
