The community at Garden Estates of Tyler is very friendly and they have lots of activities. It is impressive and the grounds are very well-maintained. My mom is in their independent living. For activities, they have bingo, painting, and blackjack. They work on puzzles and they have music too. The staff members are very friendly and caring people. Their dining area is very nice. They have 2 hours for each meal, and you can go get it and bring it back to your room if you want. The food also has a pretty good selection.

I was at Garden Estates of Tyler during meal time and I really liked that they had a sit down dining and not a cafeteria style. They had a couple of choices that they could choose from. They would get a menu and they would order from that menu. So, I liked that restaurant style rather than the buffet, but the variety didn't seem to be as big. It seemed like they had just had a rotation. The facility was more modern because they have just recently updated, gone through, painted, and modernized. So, in that sense, it was all polished up and very clean. It has a lot of windows, but it just didn't seem to have the natural light that the other facility I went to. There's an area that you walk in that has a beautiful grand staircase. It feels very formal and that makes it really, really pretty and just how everything is white and fresh. Everyone was wonderful. I met several of the staff, even the maintenance guy. I chose different times of the day to see how things were on the ones that I visited and got serious about, and the maintenance guy was there, and he gave me a tour. It's totally not his capacity, but everybody was just hands on and ready to show you around and be very helpful.

My mom will be moving into Garden Estates of Tyler. What really made her want to stay there was it had a cozy feel to it. They were just really caring, and she felt that this place was friendlier. The rooms are really nice. It's going to be a step down for her, so it was kind of shocking; but they had rooms that were set aside, like craft rooms, where she could do things, and she's very artistic. One of the things that really appealed to her was that they had other rooms where she could go do things, and so she didn't have to worry about her living quarters being too small for the things she wanted to do. She just liked everything about it. She got one of their larger suites. She got the two-bedroom place, and that's good because she wanted to have one where she had room for her painting, sewing, and everything. She also does things, and then she has one room that she could just use as her living room. It had a nice flow; you didn't get locked into any particular spot. Sometimes, when you go in a place and you go to the last room, you have to turn around to get back out. But the way this is set up, it had a nice open flow to it, so you never got trapped anywhere. The staff is really nice, helpful, and very efficient. She was really clear about everything. She made sure that we got all the information that we needed, and we weren't just dragging it on because we told her we have other places that we're going to look at. So, she just got right on that. We didn't necessarily see where they prepare the food, but we really didnt care about seeing that. We saw the main things. We didn't go into the assisted living section, except that we did walk through it, and they did explain it to us. The other thing that my mom really liked was that they mingled. They weren't locked out of any place; she could go into the assisted living area if she wanted and interact with people there. Nobody was isolated where they couldn't meet and be with other people. They are in the middle of doing some extensive remodeling and reconstruction. She was fine with that too. It's nice that they're updating everything; they're repainting and refurbishing it. It's really nice. Everywhere we went, the staff was great. All of them have focused really hard on making sure that they have good staff at this place, and she just felt at home.

Garden Estates of Tyler was multi-story and for that reason, I ruled it out. It was OK, but it wasn't fit for me. We went to the different floors, and they told me that I had to be able to evacuate in so many seconds in order to live on the second or third story and I wasn't sure I would be able to do that. You have to be mobile, and I use a walker. If you had to evacuate, the elevators won't work. The fire department requires that you be able to use the stairs and be able to go down in so many seconds. They had some rooms on the first floor too, but at the time they didn't have available the size of the room I wanted. They had good amenities and well-planned activities.

My sister and I care for our Dad who is almost 90 years old. He does very well, but doesn't need to be left alone and cannot get his own meals. We needed to take a little vacation and were looking for a place that provided respite care for a short time. We visited Garden Estates of Tyler. The staff was extra friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions. They gave us a tour and we met the nurse, director of the facility, and many other friendly staff. They were helpful and welcoming from the moment we walked in the building. Our Dad stayed for 3 days and says he gives this place an A+! He really enjoyed his stay and was very impressed with his room and the care he received. He told us we should have stayed longer on our little vacation so he could stay there a little longer. I would definitely recommend Garden Estates of Tyler to anyone looking for respite care for a loved one.

Garden Estates of Tyler was good, pleasant, and in a good location. Their independent living was too independent for my mother's needs. Their rooms were very attractive. Their facilities were spacious and seemed excellent to me. Their staff was friendly and helpful. Their activities seemed pretty good but limited.

Garden Estates of Tyler was very good. I liked it. I wish I could move in there. It seemed very family oriented. The apartment was large, and they had a library, a place for puzzles, activity room, and activities happening almost all the time. It's just very pretty and nice, and everybody was very friendly. The dining area was very nice. The tables were set very nicely with flowers on the table. It was very pretty. They have a private dining room that was very pretty with a large table and artwork if you want to do something special for your immediate family. It was very nice.

We looked at Garden Estates of Tyler. It is large, so they offer a lot more. It was very, very nice. They had several dining times. They actually got to order off of a menu. It was almost like being on cruise. The rooms/apartments were about the same size as what my mom has at the other facility. It is a newer building. It is a two-story building. It is very nice. I really like it. Garden Estates have puzzles everywhere for them to put together, and also they have bingo, so the activities were the same as with the other facility. But the thing I like about Garden Estates is that they would actually take them to places. They have a bus that would take them shopping and take them wherever they want to go. They really got them out, and the other facility doesn't do that. This is a really nice place. I would have moved my mother there because I thought it offered more.

The food at Garden Estates was little bit better quality food than the other facility I visited adn it was equipped for diabetics. There’s food three times a day, and they have transportation to take to doctors appointments. They have studio and 1 and 2 bedroom units. There are pharmacies all over the place and two very large hospitals.

I am very, very pleased with Garden Estates of Tyle for the quick and efficient and friendly help that they gave me when I was still searching for a facility in Tyler. I was very impressed with the staff member and the marketing director. The facility is very clean. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and respectful. They have daily activities and games. They also have weekly outings where they take a bus and go different places. They also celebrate for different holidays. They were very kind enough to provide a meal for the resident's friends and family if they came in, which was very much appreciated. Ever since my parents have moved in they have been very complimentary of the food. They have pretty good food.

I had a tour at Garden Estate and it was okay. It was clean. The rooms were nice. However, it seemed more like a nursing home than a retirement home to me though.
