I am living at the Villas of Mission Bend, which is a 55+ apartment complex in Plano. We chose it because of availability, and it was more like a regular apartment complex than most of the places that I looked at and it was a good location for me. They have an elevator so I don't have to use the stairs. There's not a bunch of little kids living here and I can have my pets. I am a smoker and I don't have to go off property to smoke. I can smoke on my balcony which makes it nice. They have potlucks. Last night, they had a tenant appreciation dinner where we didn't have to do anything. They served up dinner, and it was very nice. The people here are very nice. It's a small complex. I'm very close to where my daughter lives and I'm close to doctors. It's an independent living place, so I fix my own meals. There is a pool and there are healthcare people that come and do free eye and blood pressure check-ups. There's a beautiful clubhouse with a beautiful kitchen and there's fresh coffee every single day for anybody who wants to come in and have coffee. They have social hour every other week. For me, it's perfect.

My mother placed an application with Villas of Mission Bend. They're income adjusted, and she can't afford the other places. The staff was very helpful, the room was pretty standard, they have a pool, and a gym. It's right near a hospital. They have a balcony or patio depending on which floor.
