Mom is at McDermott 55. It is just about two years old, so they have all new amenities and a beautiful kitchen with stainless steel appliances. They got hardwood floors and it's very spacious. The staff is very kind, too. They have a calendar of events every month. They have an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, an exercise facility, and two bench areas where you can do some walking or sitting.

I'm moving into McDermott 55. I really like the management. They were very helpful, very friendly, and very welcoming. The common rooms are beautiful. What I like the least is that the building that I'll be moving into is older and not quite as nice as the new other buildings, but it's all that I can afford. However, it's larger than a lot of the places that I looked at that were newer. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating. They worked with us negotiating some changes in the fees and they made me feel comfortable that they would follow through with what they promised. There is no food service. But the cleanliness is good. The apartment that I'm personally going to be living in needs more cleaning, and they have promised to do that. The location of the building is very close to a lot of stores and close to the main highways. It felt safe. It also felt like the people who work there care about the people who live there. The size and the layout of the rooms are very good. Overall, I'm pleased with it. A lot of the bedrooms in some of the fancier buildings are small, but these bedrooms are quite large.

I am at McDermott Crossing and it is a 55+ independent place. It's OK as far as maintenance and everything. There's been some issues. Someone ran into the building and the bricks are all out. I think their maintenance is low, I think they don't have enough people, I think the staff is low. The bus comes and takes us to Walmart, which is right across the street, we can get rides to the doctor, they have activities, but with COVID-19 the activities had been cancelled, and they just started back, like bingo. I don't do bingo, so I don't go. The place is beautiful, it's gorgeous, and I have a view across Plano, the bathroom is big, the kitchen is big, it's wheelchair accessible, so I have a big, big walk-in shower, and a washer and dryer.
