I'm at The Waterford at Plano. If you don't want what is on the menu for a particular meal, you can order something different. We have a button we push if we need help, and the aides come pretty quick. It's a good place for your mom or your dad. The staff is very good. One lady calls it her calling to get to work here. There's a lot of people from other countries coming here and they all learned England English. They're just very good. They'll help you shower. Whatever we need, they provide. They clean once a week. The man that sweeps and mops has been here 20 years. For every meal, you have a tablecloth, napkin, silverware on the table, and glasses. They have juices, iced tea, milk, coffee, whatever you want at every meal. They have scrambled eggs every morning. There are other things that you can order for breakfast and there's a wide variety for lunch and dinner. They have a lot of activities. They have painting and bingo. We get a weekly menu for the food and we get a monthly menu for the activities. During afternoon at 1:00, there's something called Left Center Right Game. A lot of people walk. They play Wheel of Fortune. We have music, entertainers, singers, and a violinist. Some play UNO, some play dominoes. I just think it meets the value. Everything that you learn to do for yourself that you don't need help with, the price goes down some.

I'm at The Waterford at Plano. Everything is excellent. The food is good. I got a beautiful room. There are activities. There's no reason to not give them a five. The staff is great. My caregiver is always on time and takes care of everything that I need. The dining room people work hard and give you good service. I don't have any complaints. The food has improved greatly recently. It's always been OK, but now it's really getting good. Maintenance and housekeeping are excellent. I have nothing to complain about. I like bingo. We had a bingo store where you can spend your bingo money. They have word games and trivia. There's entertainment every other Friday. It's all covered pretty well. Value for money is comparable. The prices are high everywhere.

I'm at The Waterford at Plano. The amenities are great, and the meals are excellent. They have laundry facilities, trash pickup, covered parking, a good activity director. Cleanliness is spotless and they give great attention to your needs. They have three meals a day. It's an excellent facility. The staff is always accommodating and always available. Housekeeping is excellent. They have all sorts of games that people can play. They're very good about things that are timely. They had activities for us when we had the eclipse, provided us with glasses and refreshments. It was a delightful thing. They're having the election on the 5th and some of us are not able to stand in line, so we would like to do it by mail. They offered to help us, gave us the time and went down, fill out a report, gave it to them, and they delivered it to the government office and we'll be able to vote by mail. That was a plus because elderly people are not able to always get all that information and all, but they did it for us. They're very sensitive to things like that. Value for money is excellent. Before I came here, I have been looking at other communities, but this is by far the best and the price was excellent, so I took it. I've been here a year now.

My father was at Waterford at Plano for over two years when it was time to step up his care from independent living to a more assisted living. The team at Waterford were so helpful and worked with us to make the transition for my dad as easy as possible. I have and would again recommend Waterford to anyone looking for community for their loved one.

The Waterford at Plano was nice, but it was an older community, and it was also in the old part of Plano. It was going to be a good 25 minutes for me to get from my home over to my dad, and that was one of the reasons I did not choose it. It was an old building. The apartments were older and smaller. It just wasn't for my dad or me. The staff were very nice.

I'm here at The Waterford at Plano. The staff is terrific and the facilities are good. They follow up. They're intelligent. They are sensitive to people's needs. They're efficient. The dining room staff is doing very well. The food is not high cuisine by a long shot, but it's perfectly satisfactory. The building is topnotch. The rehabilitation is absolutely great. I'm pretty satisfied. I have no real complaint. They have standup comedians come. People come in and play the guitar. For the religious people, they have a person from a Baptist church coming in. They have a library. They have counseling services. In the independent living, they got people come in and do the laundry and stuff like that. I'm in a very good situation here. They have a transportation system. They can get you back and forth to doctors and stuff. It's not perfect, but the basic services are good. I'm getting more for my money than I expected to get.

I moved my father to The Waterford at Plano 2 months ago. His one-bedroom apartment is lovely, very clean, spacious, and equipped with everything he needs. The food at The Waterford is consistently excellent with a wide variety on the monthly menu . I eat with my father 4-5 times a week and I am always impressed with the food. This community is very welcoming and supportive. The staff and residents are extremely friendly and enjoyable to be around. The facility is very clean, well-maintained, and beautiful. We love The Waterford at Plano and highly recommend it to any family.

My father became part of the Waterford at Plano community more than two years ago. He was first a resident in the Independent Living section, and just this year he has transitioned to Assisted Living side of the community. Waterford at Plano, and especially the kind and caring staff and leadership, have been very good to us. They have been instrumental in helping my dad stay as healthy and independent as possible. He has become more active, developing friends, playing dominos, attending special activities, and having good conversations with other residents. The facility itself is a great place to live, it has a variety of different apartment types and sizes and it is maintained very well. When my dad's dementia recently got worse, the leadership at Waterford made his transition to a higher level of care as comfortable for him as possible and provided additional memory care services to assist us. We are so grateful and would recommend Waterford at Plano without reservation as a great place to live.

I live at The Waterford at Plano. I like it here. It's not perfect every day, but as a whole, it's very comfortable to me. I like the people that are in charge of it right now. They try very hard to resolve problems and help if you need help. They've improved the food a lot. We've got a new chef, and we get a salad bar, we get fruit every day on the salad bar, and I get plenty of food for me. They put in new doors and they put blinds where it needed to have blinds. When I need something fixed, they usually come fix it. Today, we went out to a restaurant, and the food was really good. It was nice to get out. They have bingo and card games, and we have a musician today. We have different kinds of music that comes in. Every other Friday, we have happy hours. Value for your money is fine because I'm in a two-bedroom, so I don't have upkeep like I did on the house anymore. For me, it is worth your money.

Rooms are large and easy to maneuver in. Large doorways accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. Wide hallways and elevators for easy passing of other residents and guests. Bathrooms also allow for easy access. Dining room had enough room to move around in. The meal choices follow the Grove plan and are always appealing as well as alternative options for your dining pleasure. Climate control provides ease of comfort for each individual needs. Cable TV is included with the rent. Large outside area for walks and dining under the trees and attractive landscaping. Filtered water stations provide extra clean water for drinking. The staff is attentive and caring, ready to help solve any problems you may have. Transportation is provided to outside excursions, shopping and doctor visits. Small pets are welcomed.

My father in law moved in about 2 months ago. He loves it ! The management staff have been wonderful and they were so helpful. They provided us some recommended movers and that worked out great ! The food is fantastic considering it is a facility. But it has been wonderful. The whole staff for their dining is so friendly and helpful. It is also one of the cleanest facilities we looked at. They are always cleaning and keeping everything looking so nice. They have lots of fun things to do including music, and activities. I think we made a great decision and my father in law loves it. So glad we made the move. Thank you to Peggy (sales) and Tori (executive director for making our move so much easier. They are great.

The Waterford at Plano was cheaper than almost any place around that has the same type of facility. There are places up here, but they're more expensive. I live in Fairview and I wanted something a little closer, but my son is close to The Waterford at Plano so that works out well. The apartments were small. It was a one-bedroom. They have a one-bedroom that was larger, but I haven't seen that one yet. I'm going to go see it on Monday. The apartment that I went to had somebody that was living there and it was pretty crowded. She had a TV, tray tables, and a couple of places out in the middle of that. So, it just seemed very crowded, but that's where I'm going to go and see another one on Monday. The lady who gave the tour was great. She was. You can tell that she's excited about the place and that she likes it there. The dining area was nice and cozy. They had a salad bar which I thought was nice. It is an older building and you have to take that into consideration, but it was clean and that's the main thing. It looked like it was well-maintained. The lady was patient. She showed me where there was a therapist there during the day, showed me the fitness room, and talked to me about the other activities that they have.

The Waterford at Plano had everything and more of what we were looking for. They have physical therapy, a podiatrist visiting, and a hair salon. Our tour experience was great. The sales director was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Mom will be going into a one-bedroom, but we're on a waiting list for a studio apartment. They have a library, a puzzle room, and laundry facilities. Everyone was very friendly, very nice, and very personable. I got to speak with some of the residents there and saw their apartments and they were so nice. We didn't sample a meal, but I liked the fact that if my mother did not like what was being served, there was an alternative menu such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and grilled cheese, which she'd eat.

My mother currently lives at Waterford. Since she has been there (almost 2 years) management has turned over multiple times. They have also raised her rent more than $350. The residents are not nice - very much like middle school with the popular kids, saving seats in the too small dining room, won't let people sit at tables and the staff does nothing about it. There has been constant turnover of cooking and serving staff. Turnover of van drivers. The residents have the ability to get food to take back to their apartments - my mother has been told they ran out of food and was handed a cold hamburger and nothing else for her dinner more than once. She isn't allowed to get coffee for breakfast. They have done remodeling which is nice except that the residents decide who gets to use what. There is no outdoor space that is nice to sit at. One resident tried to tell me where I could and couldn't park. If it wasn't so difficult for her to move we would have already left.

We got to visit The Waterford at Plano, but my mother did not like that one. After about a minute and a half of the walk-through with the director, my mom wanted to leave. She just didn't get a good feeling. We saw the dining room, it looked old and it was nothing compared to the other place we saw. The staff that gave the tour was courteous, nice, and outgoing.

The Waterford at Plano was OK. It was a little sparse, and it didn't feel very warm. Beyond that, it seemed clean, the facilities seemed OK, and the people seemed nice. They had the restaurant. The room we saw was just a small room with a patio, a bathroom, a walk-in shower, and a little kitchenette. The staff was friendly.

The Waterford at Plano had a friendly staff. They showed me their dining room, barbershop, library, and their common area. It's currently under renovation right now. So, when I got there, all of the furniture was pushed out of the way, because they were putting down new flooring. Other than that, it was a clean place.

We toured The Waterford at Plano for my friend. It's very pretty but it didn't offer the amenities. It only offered one meal a day and everything was separate. We toured for independent living but with the ability that if there's an emergency there was a button. They told us there was but when we got there, there wasn't. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. I believe there were quite a few activities there as well. It appeared to be very clean and kept up. They could offer more services.

My mom is at The Waterford at Plano and I like the atmosphere of the place. It's very clean and warm. The one-bedroom apartment is very nice, very big, and I like the way they're made. The showers are easily accessible and everybody has those little doors to their apartments decorated and show their own personalities. They encourage the seniors to get out and do things too. I also really like the fact that someone checks on my mother every day. She's 91 and whenever something needs to be fixed, they're just right there immediately. The closet space is very important for my mom as she likes to dress, especially when going to church, so it's just nice. She got her sofa and chair delivered yesterday and she went with us to pick up her stuff and decorate it there. She's really happy. The staff is very attentive, very polite, and they've all just been nice people. I have not seen any personal activities that they have been doing, but there's always something going on every day, like there's a young man coming in to play music for them, they do a lot of walking, they go out for somebody's birthday, they go out every week or something like go to Wal-Mart, go on outings, and what have you. She's got invites on the door since she's been there, so from the activities that they've offered her, they try to keep her pretty busy.

I think we're going to go with The Waterford at Plano. We went in person and talked to them last Monday. I thought it was very nice. The apartments were empty -- you have to furnish them -- but the place seemed very nice to me. It's not a large place, which is good, but there were people around. All the rooms smelled good, everything looked clean, and everyone seemed nice and caring. We're hoping that's the case. It didn't smell artificial or anything, it just smelled clean. I saw all the places where they can play games and have activities, the places they ate, and the TV rooms. I think I toured the whole facility. We were looking at a studio for my aunt, and I think that's what we're going to go with.

I went to The Waterford at Plano. It was OK. I didn't have any real problems with it. It was just hard to find, and the parking area was a little unusual. You're supposed to go around to the right, but with this one, you go around to the left to get to a parking space. The facility was OK, but it is still a facility where you feel like it's not an apartment, but more of a motel or a hotel with the long hallways. I saw their independent living and I wasn't interested in others. They have assisted living and another area for memory health, and I really don't want to be in a location like that. It's kinda depressing to me if you're there with all those people around you all the time. It's just my personality. Otherwise, if somebody needs that kind of care, you can put somebody in there and they can graduate to the next level as they age, which would help because you're in the same place all the time. Their staff was friendly and helpful. It was just a lot further out there.

The tour at The Waterford at Plano basically showed us the living quarters, the eating quarters, and the social quarters. It was very nice and very acceptable the way they're doing it. But right now, due to the quarantine, they were not meeting together because they had to keep their distance, but the staff member showed me where things would be once everything is back up; it's very nice. The staff member was very nice, she answered all of my questions and concerns, and helped us a lot. The room was like a studio. They had different rooms and she showed me a couple of rooms. Their amenities are not open right now due to the coronavirus. The layout of the place looked good.

Everybody at The Waterford at Plano was really nice. There was nothing negative about the place, just a little farther away from where were live. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice, and the rooms were nice as well. The room we saw was about 400 to 450 square feet maybe. The dining room looked good, and they described the events they have for the residents. It's a very nice community and everyone was very pleasant.

The Waterford at Plano is nice and clean. I stayed for lunch and I liked the activities and apartments that they had. I would go there if I had to. The thing that impressed me the most was the nurse. I asked if they use the Hoyer lift, and they said that they believe in aging in place. So If I need a Hoyer lift, they won't kick me out. They would let me stay and bring a Hoyer lift in. They also have a roll-in shower. Their dining area had pretty chandeliers and the food was good. I observed the people getting ready for a church service and they were also setting up for a birthday party. The person who gave me the tour even came to my house and drove me over there, which was nice. They had a wonderful physical therapy department with all the equipment you could imagine.

The Waterford at Plano was a good one, but we had to wait 30 or 40 minutes because the person wasn't around. The facility was nice, laid out nice, away from the main traffic or driving, so you got a nice, quiet community. The dining room was nice, a little bit smallish, but she said they do it in waves, so that's understandable. They have some buses that take them to the store, or the bank. The room was a little bit smaller, if you wanted to upgrade, that was where your money was going to go into. But the basic one was still nice, they had a lot of extra closet spaces, and you could go and change the wall color, or the floor carpet if you wanted to.

I loved The Waterford at Plano. The residents were really involved and happy. It was dinnertime, and they came to us and introduced themselves. We got to tour an apartment, and I got to see the menu. I would stay there. It was really great. The director of the facility was awesome. Even though we couldn't work it out with the independent living there, he still followed up with us. I was very impressed with that place. I highly recommend them. They had crafts, outings, movie nights, they had their own salon, a library, and people that come in and do different functions. The dining area looked like a restaurant. It's a very beautiful place. Everyone had their own apartments.

My mother moved into the Waterford at Plano. The staff is very personable and very accommodating. The floor plans are very reasonably priced, and theyre spacious enough. The location is perfect for me since its accessible on a major highway, and its convenient in as far as grocery stores, Target, restaurants, and doctors offices. They did have a Halloween gathering the other night, she did go down for that, all the meals are included in the dining hall, and she is in physical therapy 3x a week. They have cookies in the afternoon on certain days, but she hasnt been able to participate, and they also had a newcomer meet and greet while she was in physical therapy. They need to update the common areas since the carpets are quite old and need to be repaired.

My mother is living at Waterford at Plano. It was convenient for me, so I go visit her daily. They had a move-in special, so that was part of the draw. They have a Sunday school member who conducts the Methodist Church over there, and has for a long time. It wasnt the cheapest, but it was affordable. Its clean most of the time, but the weekday staff is better than the weekend staff. They have activities and a beauty shop, manicure and pedicures, a game room, a general facility that they share with independent living, and a nice, little courtyard.

I thought The Waterford would be comfortable for my mother. The food in the independent living facility was pretty good, however, I was told that the food in the assisted living part was horrible. They have a small library and a hair salon. They don't attend to my mother, she has an infection that needs to be treated twice a day, seven days a week, but they only attend to it on the day that they help her shower. I've had differences with the medical help. I've seen the Bingo, it's really good, there's an arts and crafts area, and it looked like the people who attended, enjoyed it.

The Waterford at Plano didn't have the things I wanted, like a dog park and garage, and it was pretty close to the highway. The staff was very nice. I went just after lunch on a weekend, so I didn't see much happening. They had assisted living there.

The Waterford at Plano was my favorite facility. The facility was very welcoming and nice. I think they are going to do some updating to the rooms. The dining area was very nice. It seemed like everybody was at home and enjoying themselves. Alison, who showed me around, explained that the larger meal is at lunch because that’s easier and better for the seniors. They had a salad bar where you can go and pick out whatever you want, which was nice. They found out that their residents were getting injured doing heavy exercise, so they decided to close that exercise room and turn it into a theater room. They have another room where you can do exercises, but it doesn’t have an elliptical or that kind of exercise equipment. She showed me a room for my dad that wasn’t quite ready and another room that had already been updated and was very nice. Alison reserved a room for my dad, and my dad has decided to move in with his stepdaughter. You can start out with independent living, and then if you need to be move to assisted living, it is in the same facility. It would be an easy transition to not have to pack up and move to a different facility.

I resided in The Waterford at Plano. I thought it was very nice and very clean. It had frequent entertainment. The food service was not real fast, but the quality of the food was very good. I particularly enjoyed the salad bar for lunch, and it was well stocked. My room was very nice. It had been upgraded, and I had marble countertops. The only problem I had with my room was the shower would fall. Other than that, I thought it was a very nice place.

I thought the Waterford was very home-like and had very nice people. I didn’t care for the general neighborhood, but once you’re in the place, it was perfectly fine. The cooking and service for the food was not quite as polished as the other places I went to, but it was remarkably inexpensive. On the whole, I rather liked it. It was clean, and I liked the colors that they used.

We chose The Waterford as it was very active, and there’s a lot of younger seniors -- which is what we wanted for my mom -- but it was just a very caring facility, and I liked it a lot. I like the atmosphere, and the rooms were very nice.

I liked the layout of The Waterford at Plano. Everything was kind of centralized and navigation was not a problem. The dining area was clean, and I can navigate in there pretty well. The place was well maintained and arranged nicely. They had a really nice courtyard.

My mother is at The Waterford at Plano. It's a very nice facility. The common areas are all very well maintained. The dining area is very nice, and my mother believes the food is very good. The management is very responsive to resident requests. Location and grounds are very nice. It's an independent living facility that also has an assisted living facility attached to it.

The Waterford was very nice and just right for my mother-in-law. There’s a barber and beauty shop. They had activities and had a singer come in, which was a good activity. We looked at the dining area, but they weren’t dining at that time. I would recommend it.

I did not like The Waterford at all. Their dining room was OK, except there was a fixed menu, so you don’t have choices. We had lunch there, and the food was terrible, worse than hospital food. I did not like the fact that they did not have washers and dryers in the apartments. The apartments were very nice to look at but small in square footage. They were OK, but I did not care for them that much. The Waterford was at the bottom of my list.

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this place. First and foremost I really don't know what I would have done with the caring and loving support of the Director- Ali, she went far and above what you would ever expect from anyone. She genuinely cares! She gave me direction information for my parent to be successful living independently, such as Senior Helpers and Baylor House calls. (who were also just as wonderful) Even though my parents time there was short due to many medical issues, I am happy that they had such a warm loving and caring place to be for awhile. Everyone there is wonderful they don't just "work" there they really do care about their residents. It's a clean comfortable homey environment great activities great dining/meals. You really wouldn't have to worry about your loved ones here. I highly recommend it!

My mom really likes the Waterford; she’s been there for three years now. We were trying to find something that might be a little less expensive because things have changed financially for our family, but that never happened because it’s a really good place, so that’s why we’re staying there. Another reason is because my mom has made so many friends there that it was like, “Okay, at this point, is it really worth moving her?" Everything’s good. The staff is really caring; if there’s any issue at all, you just call, and they take care of it right away. The food is basic, nothing fancy. The facility is very nice.

My dad is at The Waterford at Plano. It is independent, and then they have also assisted, so it was more of a bridge instead of just straight independent living, and that's kind of where he is at now. The facility is really nice. It is very homey, very clean, and very pretty. The people are really good. They offer food. They have a dining room with three meals a day. They also offer housekeeping and all that as well.

I visited The Waterford at Plano, and the staff was friendly. What I just didn’t like was the assisted living area; it just didn’t look right to me. The apartments were nice, but I didn’t like the carpet.

I visited The Waterford. I enjoyed talking to the young lady, but I couldn't remember what her title was. She was very friendly, and she took her time. My mother actually changed her mind and decided not to move here. Had she done so, that's where I would like for her to go. I saw one empty room that somebody had moved out of. They were renovating it, and it was a good size. The dining room was nice and cozy. I thought it was safe and secured enough. They had a big and inviting front room area. Overall, it just seemed like a nice place. Generally, what I liked about it was that it was a smaller community. One thing that she mentioned to me that kind of ticked my interest was that a lot of the staff had been there for years, and she mentioned how they worked together as a team. I thought that was nice to hear.

We stopped in to check out The Waterford at Plano as we were in the Plano vicinity looking at assisted living options for our aunt. We needed to come earlier than planned, and the staff was friendly and accommodating about that. The grounds were spacious and well kept with plenty of nice seating and areas for the residents to enjoy. We could see how it would be easy to have gatherings there with friends and family. Our aunt would particularly like the garden area, where many of the residents enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. The main rooms were nicely decorated and the residents seemed quite happy with the variety of activities offered, which gets added to as new opportunities arise. The library was well stocked - and we were told that many of the residents are avid readers, like our aunt. The food we saw looked and smelled appetizing. They make every effort to accommodate as many tastes and dietary needs as possible. The snacks offered looked healthy and delicious; the staff encouraged everyone to eat well. Our aunt would really like their menu options, which seemed to have a lot of variety. The activities looked interesting, from local entertainment, to cultural happenings in the region. Residents are encouraged to participate in everything -- from outdoor outings to in-house events. The residents all looked well cared for and happy; we could see our aunt enjoying living here.

When you walk in to the main entrance of The Waterford you feel you have arrived in Charleston. This sparkling clean facility is for both Independent and Assisted Living. I was looking for an upper-end assisted living facility for my 90 year old father. My dad is mobile and can feed himself but is legally blind, hard of hearing and has some dementia. I wanted him to get stimulation, attention, and personal care. I was assured all of this would happen when I talked with the administrative staff and wrote the deposit and check. My husband and I took turns visiting dad at different meal times and were disappointed that the food did not look as appealing as the sample meal was on our visit. We also found my father sitting alone in his room with nothing at all to do twice. Finally, after 5 days my father told me that he didn't think he had been getting his medicine. I immediately checked and he was correct. I took my father home that evening. This may be a fine facility for independent living but I cannot recommend this for assisted living.
