I was very impressed with Wesley House Assisted Living. It's a beautiful place. However, they could not take my loved one because it was very expensive. Also, my loved one takes liquid morphine and she has control of it herself, but they said they couldn't have liquid morphine at the facility. So that cut them out from the get-go. However, if someone had the funds and didn't take liquid morphine, I would highly recommend it. And the community room was very nice. It's kind of like a big living room area. The rooms were small, but other than that, it was very good. And the staff who gave the tour did good. She was very nice.

Wesley House Assisted Living was a very nice and family-owned place. The people were very kind. Some of the guests were older, but they had been there a long time, and they knew each person. They had activities. What I liked is they had rooms that had screened-in porches, so that people could sit in their own little porch area and look at birds, plant plants, or do anything they wanted to do if they had those kinds of interests. It was a little more out of town, so that was nice, too. They had studios and one-bedrooms. They were very basic but very sufficient. One really good thing about them was that they gave their guests a buzzer that if they needed help with anything, they encouraged them to call for help, so the people, as they advanced in memory loss, would already have a habit of how to get help when they needed it. If the people who are there have dementia but have established patterns and know their routines, then they can stay there as long as they want. It's not all locked doors and everything, but they can stay there unless they start to wander off the property and in danger themselves. They have a theater, a library, a courtyard, activities, rides to town, and rides to doctor's appointments.

Wesley House was a fairly new and clean place. It looked like it was well taken care of. The rooms were comfortable for what they were. The residents seemed happy. It appeared that some had assigned tasks, which was good. The staff was helpful too. I was impressed with them. They would talk to the residents as we went through.
