My Mom was at Bader House for about a year and a half. I found the staff to be very caring and compassionate. It is a home-like setting. My Mom never even realized she was not able to leave the building. They had a few staffing issues through Covid, like everyone did, but I never felt like care was lacking. During her stay, she got to plant flowers, pet mini horses, see Santa, listen to live performances, play balloon volleyball, etc. She did not just sit in her room and watch tv. We were blessed to have this team of people on our journey with us.

I had an in-person tour of Bader House Georgetown. I like the convenience of the location to my home, which is one of the biggest factors. I thought the facility was very clean. The people seemed very friendly. They offer four meals a day. I like some of the outdoor areas that they have. They have a dining area specifically for people needing assistance with eating. My husband doesn't require that, but it's nice to know that it's there. The shared rooms are designed in such a way that I think my husband won't feel like his privacy is being invaded. I saw some people playing board games. The facility looked very well maintained.

We are so grateful for the compassionate care our mother received at this memory care facility over the course of several years. The weekday and weekend staff, from administration, activity directors, kitchen personnel, housekeeping, med techs, cna's, etc., daily helped meet Mom's needs while respecting and valuing her life, age, personal preferences and medical needs. It was a blessing to know that the residents had fun entertainment & activities to enjoy and participate in as well as friendly interactions with caregivers. We are extremely thankful for the smiles and hugs she was given and the kindness & encouragement she received amid daily life, as The Reserve provided watchcare over our sweet mother. Having our mom's confusion, quietness, body language, or facial expressions recognized and understood helped make this hard time of life easier. We appreciate the love and care that was bestowed on our loved one from the beginning of her stay at this facility to the end of her life.

It did not have that homey feeling. It wasn't right for my mom-in-law, but I guess it depends on the personality of the person. We only saw one or two members of the staff who were able to assist us during the tour. We did not see many residents, either. The doors were always closed. They had a calendar of activities for the residents. The dining area was a very nice, fancy-looking area that was very formal. The whole place was very clean.

My sister is now here. It is an extremely good, beautiful place. They were wonderful. She wasn’t thrilled but agreed to it. She has only been there for a week now and said, “This is a wonderful place, but I don’t want to live here communally.” She has a room with a view of the courtyard. They have many activities and crafts, but she would like to have a fitness center so she could ride a recumbent bike, which they do not have. They have many areas for small groups of people to sit and visit with family members. It is small with only about 40 residents, but they have the understanding of dementia.
