We've secured a place down at Georgetown Living Alzheimer's Residences. We needed a little flexible time about getting my friend lined up, moved in, and scheduled and Georgetown Living was kind enough to give us some variance there. It's excellent. The rooms are very good. The whole structure and setup are very good, and we have two friends whose spouses are out there, so we were fairly familiar with it. We were just lucky that they had a vacancy coming up that we were able to get. We chose the first level for memory care. The director gave us the tour. He's an excellent gentleman, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. We saw the food and it looked pretty good, but we didn't have time to do that. We saw some of the arts and crafts things that they did. We saw Halloween decorations and that sort of thing. It was Saturday and there was an excellent football game and some of the gentlemen were watching it. The grounds were outstanding. They had a nice garden area in the courtyards of both buildings. The surrounding area is farm-like, and they have some excellent animals, a couple of longhorn cattle, a donkey, and a sheep, and plenty for folks to look at. It's a very first-class, well-run place. The food looked fine and smelled good.

About Georgetown Living Alzheimer's Residences in Georgetown, Texas
We are experts in dementia care; caring for those with Alzheimers Disease truly is our passion. From day one, our family strove to create a community that tirelessly catered to every aspect of Alzheimers care.
Georgetown Living started with the notion of creating a truly unique assisted living experience specifically tailored for those with Alzheimers Disease. A continual theme of unique and personal care is carried throughout each facet of our residences in Georgetown, including creating peace of mind for the families of our residents. Our Assisted Living Facilities sit on 15 acres of countryside in Georgetown, Texas and are family owned and operated. The limited number of residents and the highest staffing ratio in the region allows for maximum social interaction, as well as ensuring that resident care is our primary focus.

Therefore, every detail of Georgetown Living is intended to reduce the mental stress caused by the disease. Whether they come from private homes or other facilities, it is our goal to ensure they not only improve but also thrive with us. This includes proper medication management, well-balanced expertly prepared meals (including our desserts!), and constant social interaction. The result of our efforts is a distinctive home, peerless in a sea of facilities.

I toured Georgetown Living Alzheimer's Residences. When you pull up to the driveway, they have these big, huge longhorns on their property. They have 15 acres of land and it's a very nice place. They took us amongst the population. I ended up sitting with one lady and an old man (a colonel), and ended up giving him a hug. So, I liked that place. The amount of money was OK, but I think it was just a little too structured for my uncle. He's going to need a little bit more leeway and a little more homey place. It seemed like a really well run family business. It's very clean. The memory care is a locked facility. They have basically a couple of different wings and then each wing is set up with caregivers and then there's a nurse. They serve home cooked meals and provide activities. The rooms were a little smaller, but they were set up better. You have a wing and then down through the center of it you have the kitchen, a living room, an activity area, and then all of the rooms are facing the center area. So, it felt like they would have a little bit more supervision over the people. However, when I called back yesterday, their staff answered the phone a little rudely, and I never got a call back so that I could ask them a couple more questions.

My husband is in Georgetown Living. They've been wonderful and very caring. They do as many activities with them as they can. They have an exercise program. They're very communicative and let me know what's going on. It's very clean and well-maintained. He's getting the care that he needs for the money that we pay.

Georgetown Living Alzheimer's Residences was an excellent place. Nicole showed me around and gave me a lot of good information. It was a very nice place. They had gardens, and the rooms were just kind of in a courtyard setting. Most of them seem to have that same design, which is excellent. It gives the residents an opportunity to be outside in a safe environment and be involved in the gardens (or whatever was interesting at the time). I really enjoyed my visit there. They had some groups working together, and the staff was very involved with them. It just seemed like a happy setting. The dining area was well organized, well arranged, and it also serves family style meals, which I think is really good if you have company when you eat.

My mother was 98 years old with vascular dementia when we had to move her from my brother's home. My mother stayed there for two years until she died at almost age 101. We could not have been happier with the choice we made. The rooms are laid out perfectly with respect to the common areas so that the staff can keep track of everyone as the go in and out of their rooms. The staff was extremely competent, caring, and dedicated. Every time I visited my mother, I was 100% confident she was being treated well. If you are considering this kind of place, I recommend you visit them. The top people are especially impressive in their dedication to their residents.

My wife has been a resident in Georgetown Living since June of 2017. Before placing her I visited 6 different facilities in the Georgetown area. I picked Georgetown Living because I was impressed with the staff - at all levels, and found the smaller intimate setting to be preferable to a larger more institutional environment. I made the right decision. It is not simply that it is clean, neat and well organized - that you expect. But the personal care and concern shown by the staff to each resident is amazing. Front line staff are critical to success, and this staff is remarkable. It's not just training - it is also disposition. Each staff member knows each resident; each takes care to spend whatever time it takes to assist - with eye contact, a gentle touch, and no sense of rush to do something else. And each of them knows what is going on in each resident's life. A wonderful environment for a loved one.

Georgetown Living was a very nice facility. It had a more homey atmosphere than any of the big facilities. The staff was very cordial. I liked what I saw, but my wife needed a larger facility.

I went to visit the Georgetown Living facility, and I was very impressed by how they take care of their residents at their center. Although all the residents there are unfortunately suffering through Alzheimer's disease, they were generally in a good mood when I visited there, and many of them had smiles on their faces and seemed to enjoy the conversations I had with them. Georgetown Living is a small facility, which means that each of the residents gets personalized care and the people who work there spend a lot of one on one time with the people who live there, creating a very pleasant environment to be around. You can tell that the employees of the facility enjoy working there, and care deeply about the residents. They go the extra mile with the residents and know the names of their close family members who visit weekly, and know a lot about them as people, and not just as people they have to take care of. I enjoyed my visit at Georgetown Living, and I don't have a bad thing to say about it.
