I live at Garden Estates of Corpus Christi. It's a convenient location to go shopping. We have bus service to doctors and appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So three days a week we can go to the doctors or dentists, whatever medical appointments. Monday and Friday are Walmart and the grocery store with a chain. It's a Texas chain, H-E-B. So we have access to that with the bus. It has a lift. Currently, the lift is broken, but the bus has a lift and can hold 12 passengers. So that's very good. We can get out and about. They come to Garden Estates, nurse practitioners, and/or doctors to see patients who cannot get out. So we have that service here in Corpus Christi, which is good. The food is atrocious. The food has been an issue for the last five years. It's not nutritious for senior diets. It's not healthy. The activity director has activities going on every day. The facility is fine. We have housekeeping services. There's a salon for men and women, haircuts, nails. They have a full service. Well, it's one lady, but she has a pretty good full-service salon. And my kids all said, well good, because it had more of a family feeling to it, and the other ones are more like business.

My mother is here. I like the fact that they can care for her because I can't be there all the time. They do her medications, they feed her and the food is, from what I've seen, it is pretty good. They have plenty of activities there for them to do. Great staff. So far, so good. The dining hall is nice and very clean. The place is nice and clean. They have bingo and volleyball, they do puzzles, they play chess, and they got a pool table. They got all kinds of activities. She's been receiving great care so far.

My father currently lives here The staff is very, very friendly. They're great with communication. They have updated rooms that are very roomy. They have a great garden area and a courtyard for outside relaxing time. They have games like bingo, workout activities, happy hour on Thursdays, musical guitarists that come in to perform, and stuff like that. They seemed to have a good variety of activities.

My mother has been here for a month now. It was a little rough at first but because of the staff there, I would say that it has been excellent. Andy and Brandon really bent over backward to make things work for us. The facility is very good, but she's complained a little bit about the food. We get information about the activities, but she can't join in. There's a room where I've seen the residents playing bingo, watching movies, and having parties with music -- there's always something going on. We were talking to the residents, and they said it was good that they have a lot of activities for them. They all seemed happy with them.

It has multiple floors. The empty room we saw was clean and nice. They were having the food catered in at the time because they had a problem in their kitchen. I saw a couple of residents sleeping in chairs in the entryway, but I didn't see any activities going on. I went to both their independent and assisted living facilities. They had a pool table and a hangout room. The person who assisted me was great.

My mom is very happy with her accommodations at Garden Estates. Her one bedroom apartment on the second floor meets all of her needs. There is always something going on to participate in; exercise classes, bingo, special presentations, guest entertainment, games, etc. The staff is very friendly and genuinely care about all the residents.

Happy as can be, my mom really needed a place where she can be around people and live her life. This is such a wonderful place staff is caring, and help her with anything she needs.

I toured here. I liked the way they served their meals, and I liked the location. It looked nice, and the rooms were nice. It looked like it could provide what we wanted. The staff was fine. We had a meal there, and the food was good. We enjoyed the meal. We liked the way they served things.

It is wonderful. I could not compliment them enough. Mom is living in a very clean apartment with new paint and carpet. She gets attention from the staff and is very happy. They make sure she gets to meals and activities. We love it.

The staff seemed very helpful and very caring. It was very clean, and the rooms were very nice. I liked the layout and spaciousness of the rooms. We didn’t get to see too much of the place, but it appeared to be very nice.

I really liked them. The people were friendly. The whole atmosphere was inviting. The layout was easy to navigate, and every room that I visited was nice. When I get older, I would like to use that facility. It was nice. I liked that it was close. There was a place of fellowship, and I liked the idea that my parents would be able to have church there or be taken to their church. They would take them for doctors' visits, too. My brother-in-law's mother was there, and she liked it. That's where I would like my parents to go.

I liked them, and I really liked the representative Tanya because she was very helpful and knowledgeable. It's just that even though they accepted pets, you had to physically walk them out to a pet area, and my sister was still on a wheelchair and she was on a walker, and she has 2 little dogs; we just thought it would be too difficult for her to get up in the middle of the night to go to take them out.

It was excellent from what I observed from the staff and the tour. Everything was on point. The food was good, the common room was very cozy and friendly, and the activities room seem to offer a wide variety of stuff. I tried the food, and it was good.

It was close by to my home. They had activities in the dining hall such as games and music. They provide transportation for doctors' appointments. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.

It was very formal. The staff was very knowledgeable, and the rooms were nice, but they were upstairs, and I was looking for something on the first floor. There are spacious rooms that are about 5 ft., and you can turn around in a wheelchair. They had a calendar full of activities. There was gambling, bingo, and a movie night or something like that. I saw their dining rooms, and they had one for people in the independent living and another one for those in assisted living.

I really like them, but my mom is not ready yet to move to a facility. It looks really clean and it didn’t smell. The staff as well as the residents were friendly. The residents were recommending the place to us and they were telling us that they are comfortable there. They have little apartments with a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a little kitchen. The room was so close to the lobby that my mother would not have to walk to the long hall if we have moved her in there.

It was very nice. The food was good. The staff was very nice, very helpful and very friendly. Environment was good. It was a possibility for my father but it was not what we need for my mother because they didn't have a locked unit for her. She has to be in a secured environment.

Recently we toured Garden Estates as possible assisted living site for my step-mother who recently had surgery for a broken knee. We were overwhelmed by the excellent facilities and staff. A room was completely refreshed and refurnished and selected in the perfect location for access to the dining area and very attractive activity rooms. My wife and I are very optimistic about the future care and social life for this long time resident of Corpus Christi. My mother-in-law's reaction was very positive and led to an easy transition from her home of 46 years. She hopes to recover from her knee surgery and be able to return home, but we feel very comfortable that she will be able to adjust to and enjoy Garden Estates as her new home for as long as is necessary. We deeply appreciated the attention to details and thorough review of the facilities and care givers provided by Gae, the Director of Sales and Marketing!

My 89 year old mother has always been very independent but her safety is now a concern. She can no longer drive and she needs help with meals, light housekeeping and medication. Therefore, my sisters and I have been searching for a suitable retirement community where she will be supported and, more importantly, happy and safe. We found Garden Estates online and made an appointment with Gae to visit the complex and, wow! What a fabulous facility! It is beautiful, bright, and clean! Residents are active, smiling and seemingly very happy! In fact, residents approached me to say how happy they are, how great the food is, and they raved about the wonderful facilities. And Gae? She is outstanding! She is very knowledgeable, patient, supportive, very warm and absolutely wonderful. We visited a number of facilities and, while we have not yet made a decision about where Mom eventually will live, Garden Estates is at the very top of the list. The only drawback to our situation is that Garden Estates is farther away than we would like for Mom to be.

I also visited here, and I liked them as well. The staff was excellent and upbeat. The director was wonderful. What I liked about it was that it had assisted living and nursing in the same building. They were just across from each other. I would highly recommend it.

My mother already knew some people that live here that's why we chose this one. It has many wings so when we saw this one wing, that's fairly new, we like it. It's brighter, cheerier, and more decorated, whereas the other wings looked a little drab. A lot of facilities smell like urine but this one doesn't have any kind of odor to it. Mainly I think it's the staff that we were convinced with that would take good care of my mother. The staff seems to be very caring. They're great. When my mother had a lab appointment with her cardiologist and there was a problem with her insurance, they called me asking about her insurance. I don't think many facilities would do that, but they really care. I was very pleased with them. Also my mom is pleased with everything there. Her room is a big one-bedroom with a bathroom and it is just exactly what she needs. In order for her to get to the dining room, she has to go down three long hallways, so that she is getting more exercise now than she did at her apartment, so it's been good for her. Their food is warm and nutritious. She gets more food than she needs there. For activities, they have some things she enjoys. They have a game call money bingo and they have entertainment that would come in. Before Christmas, they had choirs that came in from different churches. The only thing we don't like is that they don't have any pastors come in with the Lutheran religion. What I like best about this facility is just the security and knowing that she's in a safe place and she is being cared for there. She's just in good hands.

I would recommend them. This is an excellent facility. The facility is clean. They have transportation, activities, shopping trips, etc. They even have a hairdresser on property. Mom is a current resident there and their care is excellent. It is a very nice facility. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

I'm moving here. I chose this facility because I like the arrangement of the building. I like the first floor. The apartments were large. The staff was very nice. I like the location, its lovely. They have different activities like outings. They have some people come in to entertain the residents. They have non-denominational church services. I ate there and the food was very good. They do serve three meals a day.

It was nice. The staff was very helpful; she called me numerous times to see how things were going even though we weren't using their services. I thought their prices were very fair, they were way less than anywhere else in the country, and the place was clean.
