My sister has moved into Caraday of Corpus Christi Assisted Living. It seemed to be affordable for her income. She gets three meals a day. She has activities every day. Housekeeping, laundry, and her utilities are included. The staff members we met were totally friendly. They want her to be comfortable at all times. When she came there, the head cook came down and wanted to know if she had any allergies and if it was her birthday, she said, "What's your favorite cake?" The girl from the laundry room came down and discussed stuff with her and the housekeeping person. We were invited for lunch one day and the food was very good and very nutritional. They have an option for some people who don't want to eat in the dining area. They can order tacos or something that's not on the menu. Everything is always posted for them to see. The menu is always two days in advance. The activities are posted for the month. They are kept informed all the time. I'm impressed with the activities. Every day is required that they get up and do exercises. At 10:00, they start with exercises. I talked to her just recently, and she said she's been socially interacting with people, and doing some of the activities. Friday night, they have a happy hour and during their happy hour, they even serve liquor if they want. From 10:00 to 4:00, they've got very good choices. They stimulate their brains, so that's good. They have a garden area where they can sit out. Financially, it's very good. I was impressed. If something goes wrong, they call you immediately and advise you what your choices are. They have assisted living. They don't have a memory loss wing. The other side is a rehab that's affiliated with them. It's well-located and a lot of people use the facility. I called a of couple facilities, and the reason I liked this place was it's at ground level. They only take up to 50 people in that area. I liked it because it was small and they could interact more easily. The staff is not overstaffed or understaffed for the attention they need to give to the residents. The residents can come and go. They like to give a little independence to them. Even the maintenance guy was good about helping get her TV set up. They all work as a team there. They either cover each other or they work as a team. It's not like, "That's my job only." It's a family-oriented kind of situation.

My dad moved in at Caraday of Corpus Christi for about a week now. Overall, it's very welcoming and very clean. We felt very safe there with the services and the overall care that he would need and require. They were able to work with me on the pricing and the services he's going to be getting, so all of that made a huge difference. The staff is very professional and very knowledgeable. They put the patients first. His room is very nice, very clean, very updated, and very spacious. We were able to make his room his own. I didn't try the food yet, but my dad said that all the menu options are really good. He said that he doesn't have to ask for any substitutions because they are all very good meals. As far as the amenities, they have a lot of activities and a lot of socialization.
