I visited my uncle and was very impressed with the care he is receiving. The staff are so caring and the food looks amazing. The activity program is top notch. I spoke with the ladies in the front office and they were so helpful and gave me the information I needed about getting VA benefits started. Absolutely love this community!!!

We toured several assisted-living facilities. We compared cleanliness, cost, amenities, and facility layout. We also observed residents' demeanor, and their interaction with each other and the staff. For safety, med management, peer-to-peer socialization, and Peace Of Mind, we chose The Waterford at Corpus Christi. Our experience with Waterford thus far has been positive. They are responsive, professional, and friendly. There is much paperwork involved but Aurora and Francis were both knowledgeable and superb in assisting us with every aspect of our mom's "home away from home", if you will. Ben is also very helpful. Her room is nice, cozy, and comfortable. Mom enjoys the variety of food options offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What's not to like?!...meals prepared for you, laundry and cleaning taken care of, daily trash removal, activities, trips, nice indoor and outdoor sitting areas, on-site hair salon, and more! I gave the food 4 stars only because non-dairy alternatives are not available (like plant-based milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt). Many of the staff have worked there for over 10 years, which to me speaks volumes! Kudos to Francis, the Wellness Director. Her diligence stopped a home health care provider adding incorrect meds to mom's care plan. Our family is so grateful that she is "by the book" and that Waterford has protocols in place to prevent that from happening. If anything occurs to change this 5-star review, I will update the rating. We hope this information assists others in making such an important decision.

I toured The Waterford at Corpus Christi. They were friendly and approachable, but they didn't have a kitchenette. They have a few activities but not too many. It was very limited for my mom. And they're more for assisted living. I like their food, but they didn't have all the stuff we needed. I need more amenities. The person who toured us was very nice, very helpful, and very informative. They have a few outdoor spaces but not too many. They have a hospital right next to them, so that's good. That was a plus. They have an outdoor courtyard, too.

My ex-husband is living in The Waterford at Corpus Christi. The staff has been amazing. They've been extremely accommodating. If there's an issue, they call immediately. If we need them to help us with anything, they are right there to do it. They have actually taken him to get his lab work done when we couldn't make it over to get it done in a timely manner. The management is extremely accommodating in anything you ask for. The lady that dispenses the medications is very knowledgeable. She will talk to the family members and ask questions about a particular medication that she thinks might be questionable. Like his blood pressure was extremely low and they had him on a blood pressure medication. She said, "I'm not sure that this is a good idea. You might wanna talk to the doctor about that sooner rather than later." And so we did immediately, and they took him off of that because his blood pressure was like 60 over 40. So the people there have been wonderful. The food is delicious. Anything from hamburgers and pizzas, to pot roast, and pork chops. Just anything that you would put on your dining room table. Spaghetti. They have poker games, bingo, and board games. The residents actually can win. Instead of winning money at bingo or any of those games, they win points that they spend in the store to buy their toiletry needs, and so forth, so that they can get there, like if they need diapers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, or something like that. So it's kind of cute, and they stand in line to go spend their points at the store. They take them for a ride once a week. They put them all in a bus and take them for a ride. If they want to go out, they take them to the beach, or they'll take them to a park, or just take them driving down Ocean Drive, just a pretty drive to get them out for a little while. The value for the money is excellent.

I went to The Waterford at Corpus Christi. The staff was what I liked the best and the least was the food. The staff was very helpful and kind. The food was of very small portions and tasteless. It's on a tier and my mother would have to be able to get out of her room and down the stairs in 13 minutes, which is OK now, but maybe not in two or three years, maybe not even a year, and I don't want her to have to move again. They have a salon, a courtyard, a gym, and a church service. It was very nice.

My mom lives here. She's been here 11 years. They're just caring people and very concerned about all the residents. We've never had any complaints about any of the staff or the nurses or aides. She's been real comfortable here. The food is good. It's an older establishment, but it's always clean and neat. They offer arts, but she's not able to do much. She's in a wheelchair and not very mobile. She's 97, but they have a good amount of activities. Right now, the ones that can are out eating lunch, they do exercise, they play bingo, and they have bible studies. My mom does reading to the class once a week. They have a wonderful activity director.

We visited The Waterford at Corpus Christi. It had a living area where you can sit, and the dining room was right there as you walked in. So anybody coming in for tours or whatever, the dining room is not separate and close. I didn't like that. Then they took us up to the room. I was expecting a one-bedroom with kitchenette, but it was a little room with no kitchenette. This place had nothing, and it was even more expensive than the other place (about $300 more). It looked like a big closet that I walked into. It was like one big room. To one side is where you're going to put the bed, and then the living room. You could tell that the bedroom was very little and very small. You could have claustrophobia just trying to live in that little place. I asked them if they had ones with kitchenette, and she said no this is it. She said they had only 47 rooms. It's a very small place. They have the room where you have your activities. They offered mass and communion if you're Catholic. One of the Fathers would come and give mass on Saturday. They didn't seem to have as many activities as the other place. As soon as I walked in and I saw the dining area, I thought maybe the rooms are going to be something spectacular, but that was even worse. The staff were very nice.

Making the transition for my Dad from our home to an assisted living community was a scary venture for my husband and I. But, when we first went in to tour, the residents and staff made us feel so much more comfortable. Here we are, 5 years later and so happy we made this choice. My Dad has many friends, he loves the different activities and goings on. There have even been times I have called and he tells me he has to call back, he ‘s headed to play cards! My Dad’s apartment is spacious, and a housekeeper comes in weekly to help tidy things up. The courtyard is a perfect place for my brothers and sisters to visit and practice social distancing. My Dad loves that breakfast is tailored to him. Scrambled eggs one day, sunny side up the next… lol If someone is on the fence about looking into assisted living at the Waterford, I say: Take the leap- your loved ones will thank you for it.

We went to The Waterford at Corpus Christi in person. The staff was very friendly and very nice. The room was nice. It was an open floor plan, and the cafeteria was right there in front of the office. It was nice; it's expensive though. I think the studio room was $2,400 and the one-bedroom was like $3,400. The room probably had just been renovated or painted, and it looked really nice. They actually showed us a model that already had furniture, so it looked really nice. They follow the protocol. They took our temperature and everything. It was a nice facility, and the layout was good. It was an open concept where the front office, the lobby, and the kitchen were all combined. It looked pretty clean to me.

My mother-in-law is at The Waterford at Corpus Christi right now. It's wonderful. We just couldn't afford the price. She's been there for seven years now, and she's happy there. The staff is wonderful. Everybody is wonderful. It's just the price, plus the fact that they don't have memory care. They're purely assisted living. She has a studio, so it has a bedroom area and then a living-room area, and it's all open. I liked the food. It wasn't as good as home because most of these people can't have salt or a lot of seasoning, but it was tasty. The food is very good there. They play bingo, they do karaoke, and whenever they can, they'll take them out again. They used to take them out for lunch. The staff is wonderful, very caring, and loving. They love her a lot, and they take care of her. She knows how to get to the cafeteria and stuff from her room because she's been doing it for seven years, but as far as convenience, I think the other place is more convenient with its straight halls. The Waterford is a two-story, and they have an around-the-corner kind of thing. It is wonderful for someone who doesn't have late-stage dementia. I'd live there if I needed to go in an assisted living. The value for the money is very good.

We visited The Waterford at Corpus Christi and it was at the bottom of our list of facilities for my mom. I didn't care for it at all, the place was outdated, and the apartments weren't good at all. We looked in two different apartments and they needed updating. I think the whole place looked old, and it didn't look like much had been done. We noticed that the furniture was worn and old too. It just looked like it was not well-kept. I wouldn't live in the apartments there. The staff who accommodated us was very nice and answered our questions. It was just one person that we had contact with. They need to redo the place, it needs a good makeover.

This facility is amazing. The staff are extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable and helpful. More importantly, they are kind, caring and really seem to care for the well being of their residents. They could not be more friendly and willing to do whatever is necessary to meet each residents' individual needs.

From the moment I called to inquire information regarding my dad, I knew this would be the perfect place for him. I was amazed by the way they are so involved with all the residents. They were very helpful, not only by providing me with info, but also guided and assisted me through the entire process. My dad is going to be in great hands. I know it.

I have been so welcomed at The Waterford Corpus Christi. My aunt is like a family member already. The first 14 days, she was in quarantined. So they kept everybody safe. They had to keep her in her room. But the girls were so good, they were constantly checking on her. They bathe her, they took her food to her, and her medicine. The goal was treat her like a princess. I said, “Hey, don’t get used to it. You’re gonna have to eventually leave the room. So she was finally out of quarantine. She was so excited when she called me about a couple of days ago. She says, “Oh, they finally took me to the dining area. It’s so beautiful! Oh, I am enjoying myself so much. The girls are so nice.” The staff there is awesome. Everybody, from the bottom all the way to the top. They've been so helpful. They’ve answered all our questions. The first couple of weeks, we had to keep checking on her, how she was doing. It was gonna be a big change for her. It was a big decision we had to make, but thank God for her case worker, Connie. It was like a blessing from heaven. Everything fell into place. It was between the girls there at the Waterford, and Connie over here, and us over here on the outside. I cannot say anything bad about this facility, cause it’s so beautiful. And it’s just down the street from where we live, and my daughters, too. We still keep tabs with her, we can walk thru the window and see her. We’re still keeping that safe distance from them. We understand. We gotta give them their privacy, and stuff like that. We have to abide by their rules. But she’s doing awesome, and now, we finally got her a phone in her room a couple of weeks ago. I get to communicate with her every day or twice a day. She’ll call me cause she’s so excited because she went to go play bingo. And she went with the girls, because somebody came to visit them, like the pastor or deacon or something. Of course they’re outside, and they’re inside. But still she likes that; their communication. The girls always have activities for them around the clock. She’s not in her room anymore, bored or anything. They’re taking her out, and she loves it. Everything happened so fast. Mary took me to the grand tour of the whole facility, and stuff. I was able to bring her the pictures, so she could see it, how beautiful it was, the windows that she could see outside. She’s one happy camper. When she cried, she was happy. And we were so happy for her, too. I told Mary, I said a couple of years from now you’re gonna have to save me a room, cause I’m coming moving in, girl. I said that’s a nice place to move into. I’m happy. We’re so much looking forward to the day that we can actually go see her physically. But for right now, phone is okay, windows are fine as long as we can see her.

The Waterford at Corpus Christi is very clean. All the people are very friendly and helpful. They really made my dad feel like he's part of a family. He feels welcome. From what he tells me, the food is fantastic. If he wants a little bit more, they'll never say he can't have more. They're always there for him. He has a little suite with a bed and a little restroom, a little refrigerator, and a microwave. It's very nice for just a person because he doesn't need a lot of furniture or anything like that. He doesn't participate in many of the activities, but they have social hour on Fridays where people interact and dance. They have a library, an exercise room, a computer room, and outside facilities. The staff is super nice. They give me an update on my dad. He likes the food. The only time that he didn't care for it was when they had chicken and dumplings, but they have choices. You can get a sandwich, or a burger, and things like that. It's very clean and kept up. For what they offer, the price is good.

Loved this community!!! The staff were very friendly and the place just seemed very welcoming. The director met with me and took me on a tour of the building. It was nice to have a tour that was not like a sales pitch, she listened, offered lots of resources and help for my mom! I was very impressed and moved my mom in the same month!! Since she has been there, I have been at ease knowing that she is getting the care she needs. Momma Mary is one of the best care providers I have ever met!! Thank you for everything!!

They were not expecting us at The Waterford at Corpus Christi when we got there although we made an appointment. Nobody followed up with us even though we left all of our information there, and the maintenance man and one of the aides gave us a preview of the place. It’s a small facility. The common area is very bright and welcoming, but the hallways and the rooms where the residents live were sort of densy. There were no activities going on. It’s in a great neighborhood in Corpus Christi. It’s right by the hospital, and there are restaurants nearby. Out of the 3 places that we went, they had the largest rooms, but the place was old and needed updating.

I liked the Waterford at Corpus Christi. It seemed to be nice, clean, and well set up, but it wasn’t right for my mother because she has limited access and can’t get around well. Unless it was a ground-floor apartment, it wasn’t good for her. Everything was fine and looked good. The dining room was nice, and there was also something like a party room or a visitors' dining room.
