I visited this facility

The Rose at Cedar Hill was not a large facility. I think they've got only 93 or so and I am looking for something like that. It looked like it was fairly good. I think the complex has been there for three or four years, but it looks well-kept. It's very clean. As far as the facility outside, like the grounds and everything, it was very clean. They gave me enough information and I asked questions as far as putting me on the waiting list and they assisted me and helped out on that. They had certain times during the week when they had movies and other activities going on, and they've got it posted in a calendar where you'd be able to see them.

I visited this facility

I didn't particularly like The Rose at Cedar Hill. I liked the basic setup, but I didn't find the grounds appealing at all. I know it's an older community. The tree roots and things are growing up out of the ground. I would like to have a yard, green grass growing and flowers and all. The apartments themselves were nice and it was all on one level, which I liked, but once you left the main entrance of the property where the business office and all that was, I didn't particularly care for the grounds at all. I'm not sure about the whole facility, but the ones that I looked at didn't have grass. They had those white rocks covering some of the root branches of the trees that had grown up out of the ground. There wasn't any soil on it. You couldn't grow anything there. They had an area for you to do your laundry. They didn't have a washer and dryer in the apartment. That was a drawback for me because I don't like using public facilities to wash my clothes. I'd rather have my own washer and dryer. Other than that, they just seemed like just basic apartment units. They were OK, but it didn't appeal to me that much. The staff was very nice, very cordial, and helpful. It's independent living. You take care of your own needs per se. They have little areas where they get together and visit, play games, and socialize, but they do not supply any food. They're older than the other place we looked at, but it's well-kept. There were some amenities there that needed improvement.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I live in Primrose Cedar Hill. The grounds are terrible. There is no grass. There are rocks everywhere, weeds, leaves, and plastic bags. They come and cut the grass and that is it, then they are gone. It is a total mess. I am picky and I do not like the way it looks. It does not have any curb appeal. People are moving in and out of here like you would not believe. There is nothing that I really like here. There are a lot of independent homes here, which is nice because you do not live close by to somebody. The yards are dirty and there are leaves everywhere. They do not rake out the leaves and there are plastic bags all over the place. People keep their trash on the doorstep. We are close to an empty lot and there are snakes in the back. We do not get food or meal service. We do not even have a truck to take us to the store. There are no activities. I think it is a waste of money. The electricity in my bathroom goes off and on. The electricity in another area does not work and I had to take the vent in my kitchen off and beg them to give me a new vent.

I visited this facility

I liked the looks of the floor plans that they gave me at Primrose Cedar Hill. I only met one staff member, but she was very nice. They had a swimming pool, an exercise room, and reading facilities. There really wasn't anything they didn't have that I would be interested in. They were well-equipped. I liked the layout of the apartments, and it was very accessible from the parking area.
