Everything at Walden III looks like it's really good. We just went with my friend and her husband there yesterday. It's close to us and it looks like everything is going to work out really good. They have a spacious and clean cottage apartment. They're going to be able to go to the main building and participate in all kinds of activities, which they're excited about. They can pick and choose their meals and do some of their own cooking, so it's very versatile. They have a game room. The staff is bending over backwards to be helpful.

About Walden III in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania
Walden III is an Assisted Living Residence opened in February 1987. Our intention is to provide a safe, attractive and affordable alternative to nursing homes for elderly residents who need some supervision and assistance but want neither the expense nor the environment of a nursing home setting. And since our inception all those years ago our guiding principles have always been the same; to create a warm, supportive and stimulating environment that fosters independence while providing assistance when and where it's needed.

I went to Walden III for a tour. From what I've seen, it seems like an excellent facility. Everything looked new and well-maintained. There didn't seem to be anything out of place. We spoke to one of the residents just by chance, and she had nothing but good things to say about it, including the food. She said that's what she was waiting for. She was waiting for dinner because she said the food was so good. It's an assisted living. I believe they even have memory care for people with Alzheimer's. There were two staff that I met with directly, and they were both very, very knowledgeable and seemed very caring. It was only about 45 minute to an hour tour, but they covered everything and answered all our questions.

Walden III is nice, privately owned, and small. There’s nothing but good reports from friends who have family there, and we like it because it’s close. The people that we dealt with were very nice and very caring. They painted and put new linoleum in the kitchen and dining area. There’s a ramp to get in and out, and a little deck at the back that's pretty flat and level.

Walden III has a homey feel to it. It’s not exceptionally large. All of the residents there seem to be getting good attention regarding their needs and the help they require. The staff has a good work attitude. They treat everyone very well. The rooms are carpeted, homey, of adequate size, and have private bathrooms. They have a whole variety of activities including movies, bingo, cards, and various kinds of movement activities. The entire facility is good.

My father was at Walden III before he passed away. The whole experience was really good. It’s a really nice place, and it's all one floor with no steps. It has a small, clustered dining area instead of a big cafeteria place. It's a really nice place. I also had my mother there. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I have eaten there myself, and it was good. They do have different activities for the residents. They have bingo, and they also have people come in to entertain the residents.

My mother-in-law currently resides in Walden III. This is a very nice and homey place. It is close to where we live. She has a room with her own TV. The staff seems very nice. They know everybody. They're very cooperative, attentive and friendly. They really do take care of my mother-in-law. They handle everything for her including medications, which is one of the big things for us! My mother-in-law couldn't handle her own meds and in the past, we had some couple of issues with it, so when she went there, we know that things will be better with the medication business. They also have activities for her. She would play bingo. She would join social gatherings and she is always there for coffee and cookies. She had back surgery before and since they know about her that, they'll even let her do certain amounts of Tai Chi exercise. It is really nice. She's gradually building up friendships and she is happier there. Overall, we're very pleased with this place.

I chose Walden III because of its cost and this facility in general is very nice. Its location also is close to where I live. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The people that live there seem all to be very nice and have positive things to say about this facility. It is a hard transition for my mother, but I think she is getting used to it. What I like best about this facility is what they give you for the cost. I thought it was very reasonable. Everything was pretty inclusive. I have also eaten there and the food was pretty basic, but considering what I pay and what's out there, I think it is well worth it.

Walden III is wonderful, I couldn't be happier with the facility. They allowed my mother to be treated for Alzheimer's for a flat fee. I would love for them to have a locked down facility and gated as anyone could wander off but the nurses always call me, they always check in on me and report anything good or bad that happens. They have a lot of in house activities like exercise and they celebrate birthdays. I already recommended Walden III to others.

Walden III is a very nice assisted living home. The staff is very friendly and compassionate, and they are very knowledgeable. My grandmother is a resident there, and they treat her with the utmost respect. If she needs anything they will do whatever they can to help her. The food is surprisingly good. They have two cats that reside there, and they do a lot to comfort the residents. There are a few sitting rooms with TV's and couches, and places to sit and play cards and other games. Most of the rooms are private rooms which is very nice as well. There is the option to go outside and feed the birds or squirrels, or just sit and relax. The facility is all on one floor, so the residents can easily meet and mingle. The area of town that it is located is nice. It's not too busy or too loud.

Walden III is one of the most charming little assisted living homes I've ever been in! Having a lot of older relatives that actually reside in assisted living, I have seen quite a few throughout the Pocono and Lehigh Valley region of PA, and this has got to be one of the cleanest and most "home-y" feeling. The staff is always pleasant and ready to assist with anything my Uncle might need. This is including, (but not limited to), laundry, cooking, medication administering, and assistance with all activities of daily living. You could do a lot worse than Walden III, especially in this day-and-age of health care facilities gouging the elderly price-wise. Yes, it costs to stay at Walden III, but I feel my Uncle is getting the care and attention he needs to essentially live on his own with a little bit of help. I totally recommend this establishment!
