I was able to tour The Chelsea At Brookfield, it was excellent, and my mom loved it there, but it was just too expensive. For assisted living we're looking at $13,000 a month minimum to start, and it could be more than that. Everyone was very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. I liked that they have different levels of care. I was able to speak to some residents that were there, and they loved it. Within the community, they have a very good reputation, and the residents were happy. They have a good variety of activities. The different levels of care could really tailor your living arrangement to what is needed, and as your needs change, they had the staff in the facilities to see that you can stay within the same community. You may have a different unit or different location, but you're still part of the same community, just a different apartment or different house. I didn't try the food, but we looked at the menu and the menu looked very good. A couple of the residents there that we spoke with really liked them and they had no complaints about the food. Everything was very clean, they have doctors on staff or ones that come in who were rated highly, and they a podiatrist that comes in, so you don't have to go off site because the doctors would come in to see you, which makes it so much easier.

My mother is at The Chelsea At Brookfield. We chose it because it was a beautiful place, like a resort. It's very nice. She gets assistance with bathing. Her medication is given to her, so she doesn't have to worry about her own schedule. The staff is very helpful. I don't see everything that they do, but my mother likes it there. She doesn't get involved in them, but they have all kinds of activities. They have people come in and entertain. They have games. They have happy hour, and they have a theater. The facility is very clean and homey. They don't take any kind of Medicaid, so I'm running out of money really fast. They take people out on excursions and shopping trips. They have a mini bus to take them out like to lunch. It's good for anybody who can afford to live there.

We visited The Chelsea at Brookfield a year ago, so everything was under COVID regulations. We only got to visit the rooms and dining room, but no one was being taken out to the dining room or going in activities because of COVID. The place was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were lovely. The staff members were very friendly. Overall, it seemed to be a very comfortable environment. The girl who gave us the tour was very helpful. She followed up with me occasionally to see if we were interested in any of the accommodations for my mother.

“I can’t trust myself to live alone anymore. You need to find a new place for me.” Those words, spoken from my mom’s hospital bed, threw my brother and me into a whirlwind of activity. We had a rapidly approaching deadline since mom would be discharged to rehab where she would stay for a week. We had two weeks to find someplace Mom could move into. My brother and I made a great team. He was focused on the “big picture” – people, community, activity, friendliness, etc. I was focused on details – affordability, proximity to her church, friends, and the medical network she’d been using for decades. Our search ended when we visited The Chelsea at Brookfield. My brother’s checklist was almost immediately satisfied. We were greeted with the kind of warmth most people reserve for close family. Residents were out-and-about – enjoying a sunny day on the front porch, mingling with each other in the public indoor areas, or chatting with staff. The activities calendar was clearly posted on the bulletin board and gave us confidence there would be plenty of things for Mom to enjoy. My checklist was also met. The budget could handle the costs. The location is minutes away from Mom’s church and the friends who could provide her a ride to get there. It sits solidly in the St. Luke’s medical network area -- with a clinic just around the corner, if the need was urgent. I admit, I felt like a bad daughter for not taking Mom into my own home. But that changed in an instant one day when Mom and I were out for our weekly lunch date. As we returned and approached The Chelsea, Mom said, “It looks like I’m home.” Home. Not “a home” or “the home.” In one word, Mom summed up life at The Chelsea – Home.

My mother is moving into The Chelsea at Brookfield. It's more like a family home instead of a medical facility. They're very friendly. They make you feel like you're comfortable and at home. She has her own suite. They make sure that they're involved in activities. They even have a cocktail hour every day where they can have a little bit of beer and wine, so it's more like a home environment. There are some activities my mom isn't going to be able to partake in because she's blind, but they have crafts. You can garden outside if you want to in the backyard. They have a library, and they have people that come to sing to the group, which is something my mom will enjoy. Things are opening up more now. They'll have more things to do, more people coming in, and making it comfortable for people. I haven't had too much to do with the staff yet. I've talked to the administrator, the person at the front desk, and one of the other people. They're just very friendly and very welcoming. They want you to feel comfortable. It's just very open. Mom will have a suite and it has a refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, a kitchenette basically, and a fairly large closet. She can furnish it with her own furnishings to make it feel more at home than a hospital setting. I did not try the food out, but I know that they have a lot of different options for each meal. Once we saw The Chelsea at Brookfield, we knew that this was the place that we wanted to go.

The Chelsea At Brookfield is a beautiful facility. They do a lot of activities. The rooms were fairly spacious, and the staff was extremely nice. Unfortunately, it was out of our budget range. There were a couple of different room styles that you could choose from. Most had little kitchenettes without a stove, but there's a microwave and a refrigerator. There's definitely enough room for a bed, a little dine-at table and a chest of drawers. The bathroom facility was very nice with its walk-in shower. It's a very nice setup. They have exercise classes, board games and trips. It's really a top notch place. We immediately met with the dietitian who went over what my mother could eat right there on the spot.

The Chelsea at Brookfield is a very nice place. It's within 10 minutes from my sister; which was one of the main reasons why we picked it. My mother is happy there, and our experience has been excellent. The people are very caring, and comforting. I would recommend them.

My parents are at Chelsea At Brookfield. It is very nice. It is not too far from where my parents lived. I'm very happy with it. Their service is very good. They have a registered nurse that is on 24 hours a day. They have activities too. The food that I had there was very good. The room is a nice size room. It has a little kitchenette and a complete bath.

I went to The Chelsea. If money wasn't a consideration, I would have my mother in this place. It is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were beautiful. The public areas were beautiful. The dining room was beautiful. It was unbelievable! However, once I knew it was out of our price range, it was also off my list.

We visited The Chelsea. I thought it was very nice. The rooms were nice. You could have a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom. You could have assisted living. The community had meals. They had community activities. They not only keep it within their community, but they opened it up to the outside community. They had a service to different towns around there. I only had positive things to say about the staff. I visited it 3 or 4 years ago. It was close to a hospital.

My mother is at Chelsea at Brookfield. The reasons we chose this place were, number one, its location and proximity to myself and other family members, the staff was wonderful, and the facility was nice. She has a roommate, so she is in a double room. They have a refrigerator, a microwave and some counter space. So there are two bedrooms and a common-shared area for the two women. It is very nice. My mother said the food is OK. The dining room is a nice setup; it looks like a little restaurant. They have two dinner and lunch settings every day. They don't allow visitors into the dining room though. I think the place is very clean. My mother likes the country setting of it and she is much happier.

The activities are well organized and keep residents busy. The building is very well maintained and has a nice atmosphere. Downsides are food (many residents complain about the food) and high staff turnover.

I thought it was very nice inside and the faultily was amazing. But I had a problem with how many NA were there watching the residents in the assistant living. What I had a problem with even though i know it is a assistant living that they need more support. I know there is a lot of residents there , but they need more aids. Other than that the place seems so welcoming and a wonderful place for the residents. They seem to have good staff and wonderful caring people there
