I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

You will not be able to speak to anyone in charge, no matter how many messages you leave. (up to 15 as of this morning) .They claim to have single rooms, but my mom has a roommate (with just a curtain in between). They have one nurse for all the patients on the wing and only two CNAs.

I like Jenner's Pond. I like the accommodation and the feeling that you got there. I went there a couple of times, and it was a very nice place. They had good programs. The staff were very helpful in telling you about the place. They gave me a schedule of what they were having, and I went through a couple of things, and they were very good. They're informative. They had parking, and they had grounds where you could go for walks. In terms of upkeep, they took care of it, but it was certainly not as modern as some of the other ones.

I visited this facility

Jenner's Pond was lovely and I had friends there, but it was too far for my family. The apartment was very nice. The staff was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and answered all my questions. The food was excellent. They have trips, people coming in to give lectures, an art show once a year, and a book sale once a year. There was everything that you could possibly want.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was placed in Jenner's pond for rehab after surgery. It came well recommended by the hospital social service workers. The building was clean and well-kept. While the staff did provide basic physical medical care, there was very little warm or positive interaction with my father. They seemed ambivalent at best. My father became so depressed there he lost 25 pounds in two weeks and was severely dehydrated. The nurses blamed my father for not eating. His appetite was not great, but the more important issue was that he was often too weak to feed himself. The staff apparently could not be bothered to help feed him and didn't seem to care if ate or not. There was no care plan developed for him. I saw other patients in wheelchairs sleeping in the halls like forgotten dogs. It was sad looking. It became obvious that they did not want my father there when the nursing supervisor repeatedly told us how sick my father was (he wasn't when he arrived), and seemed hopeful to have him readmitted to a hospital. he seemed ready to die. Our family's suspicions of poor treatment was validated when we moved him to another facility and he blossomed under their care and warmth. He is now ready to come home next week! If you place someone you love there, make sure they only need the most minimum of care.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother was a resident, and she seemed to like the activities at JP. She has since passed, and that has brought up my issue with the facility. The idea was after my mother passed, they would resell the apartment, and give back most of the initial purchase price to the estate. It has been over TWO YEARS and we have still not gotten the just over $ 200K . The contract seems to be airtight, in that it is up to them when to sell it and for how much. We have tried to have them ask less, or we would offer a 'sales bonus', but his is not their process. We are going into our third year of probating the estate waiting and waiting and waiting.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I had my rehab at Jenner's Pond, and it was good. It was clean. The staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating. They had a private dining room and you were served your choice of food. The food was good. They had social entertainment like games and people came in to sing and perform. The physical therapy was good and I was able to walk again. However, I thought they needed a larger physical therapy room.

Everything is very nice at Jenner's Pond – the place, location and the staff. They were also very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. There's every imaginable activity like wood work trainings, computers, card clubs, puzzles and library. It's just very expensive. If I could afford it, I'd consider moving in the future.

I thought Jenner's Pond was very nice. The only drawback is that it's extremely isolated. They have several living arrangements including cottages for independent living. I thought the assisted living and the health care units were extremely tiny although the public rooms they have available for the residents were very beautiful.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Overall, the quality of the care provided was excellent. Staff were very welcoming to families and very friendly and familiar to residents. The residents were also provided with a well filled activities schedule, though admittedly, there were many repeat events. At one point my grandfather had to be confined to a special section of the assisted living facility because he was trying to escape, more or less. The way in which residents were treated with regards to the door, given that they really did need to be secured in order to ensure their safety, was respectable. Staff joked lightly about the subject with the residents, and did everything in their effort to make it seem as if they were not being held against their will. There came a point where my grandfather could no longer eat solid foods, and at that point it was imperative that he receive a special diet of pureed foods. This facility was able to accommodate him, indeed, going above and beyond to add some culinary zest to the puree. When he got to the point where he could not manage his own hygiene, the nurses managed to make him presentable, and respected his dignity in the process. The ambiance varied drastically from building to building. In the final building where he received the highest levels of care, I found it quite uncomfortable. Indeed, it was very obvious that this was the sort of place that people would never leave from alive. Despite efforts to provide a sun exposure through a skylight, in this particular area it was not sufficient. You could also tell that the staff were suffering from malaise in this particular building as well. Perhaps it cannot be avoided in such a place. I do feel very fortunate that the ambiance was my only complaint. He was well treated and cared for when we could not be there for him.

I visited this facility

It was a lovely place. Always very bright and cheery. The staff could not have been better. All the facilities were always very clean and orderly. Everything was new, none of the facilities or amenities were old or worn down, like you find in many other assisted living/nursing homes. Jenner's Pond staff really strives to mantain a pleasant and safe environment for its' residents. If there was ever a problem they were always there willing and ready to do whatever it took to make the family happy, fix the problem and make sure it would never happen again.
