Christ's Home Retirement Community Shepherds Crossing was very nice. The facilities and the people were nice. It's convenient to assisted living locations. The place was great. The nurses were great. They're very helpful. Food was not bad, too. For skilled nursing, the room was fine. It's what you would expect. The atmosphere inside was very comfortable.

May not be prepared to handled blind residents A family member of mine went for rehab. His lack of vision combined with medication he took from the hospital caused him to become confused and he ended up in another patient's room. The nurses claimed he "assaulted" the other patient and two nurses (at the time he was in a very weakened state and had trouble rolling over in the hospital w/o assistance) and kicked him out permanently. When his VA vision caseworker followed up regarding his orientation, Christ Home claimed they had no record of his blindness. His discharging doctor stated that his blindness was listed on the second line of the paperwork. Disappointing to see a blind veteran treated this way.

Christ's Home Retirement Community Shepherds Crossing was a nice community, but the price was a little high. I tried the food at the bistro which is not their extensive dining area. We looked at the cottages and they also have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments. The 1-bedroom was nice but small. The staff there was very nice.

Christ Home is a new facility, which is only about 3 years old. It's beautiful, and the people were extraordinarily nice. It's pretty small, and it's very nice for somebody that requires one-person transfer for everything.

Shepherd’s Crossing is very close to where I live right now. I know other people that live there very happily. The staff was very fine, and I like the fact that I can have my own home with a two-bedroom which is quite lovely.

Christ's Home has a very nice layout. They have cottages, apartments, and they are in the process of adding more. The 2-bedroom apartments; they're spacious and very nice. They were building a new medical facility. They have assisted living and full healthcare. The problem is they don't lease. I think if they lease it would be better. They're asking you to buy upfront and that's the drawback. The staff was very good and answered all questions.
