I visited this facility

My wife & I have visited this facility 3 times & each time we come away more satisfied that we have made the right decision to move here from our nearby house. They continue rennovating & improving the general layout, so each visit is a new experience. They were willing to accomadate my requirements as far as location of a 2BR apartment, so management seems very interested in satisfying new resident requirements. As we grow older, the availability of their assisted living facilities helped to make Wesley attractive enough to leave a deposit.

Provider Response

Thank you for getting to know us and for giving us a five-star review. We do encourage our future residents to visit as many times as they would like to ensure that all of their questions are answered. We want your new apartment and lifestyle to be everything you planned and hoped for. We also offer downsizing and moving services to make your transition to our neighborhood as smooth as possible!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister's husband was at Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown, so she got to meet a lot of people. They had plenty of activities, and so she thought that would be a good place to think about. Everything was beautiful. They have just done some renovations, and they have just put in so many different amenities for the residents, who are living in an apartment and can take care of themselves. The cafeteria where the meals were served was immaculate. It was well taken care of. The food was delicious. It was bright and cheerful, and everybody there was just delightful. One of the things they put in was a bar, and it was gorgeous. On the top floor, there is a walk that is completely meant for the people who don't want to get on a treadmill. It is lovely because one side is all glass so they can look out and see the trees, the birds, and everything. They have a swimming pool there. They have a lift or a chair of some sort where the elderly could sit on it and then it would take them into the water rather than jumping in or anything else. They don't want them to get hurt. They have rooms there for private birthdays or anniversaries or whatever. At night when my sister's husband was still alive (and I would go with them), they played Pinnacle. There were 8 or 10 tables of pinnacle going on so that you could socialize and mix with the people there. There is a chapel there. They took the residents whoever was interested to go to concerts or plays, whatever the town and the communities offered for the public. Anyone who wanted to go could go. They have a room there where volunteers can come in and play music. It was just delightful. Every time I was out there, there were people, and a lot was going on. With regard to the staff, no matter who you ran into, they would say, 'Do you need something? What can I get for you?' And they were incredibly kind and compassionate. It was a beautiful place. And when I ate there, the food was excellent, too.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for your five-star review of our Doylestown community! Our staff works hard to provide the amenities and services that make senior living comfortable and engaging. Sharing your experience visiting your brother-in-law at our community truly helps others as they search for the right fit for their loved one!

I visited this facility

I visited Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown. They have restaurants of different levels where you can be formally dressed and there's casual dining, which appeals to a lot of people. There are plenty of dining choices, though I don't know about the quality of food. They did not have an outdoor campus. They had one of the upper floors devoted to walking around the perimeter and activities. The fitness center was there. I happen to be a pianist and I saw several pianos in the place. It's one I could adapt to, but I would miss the outdoor availability. The woman who took us around very efficiently showed us everything. She was very good.

Provider Response

Hello and thanks for your five-star review of your visit to Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown! We are glad that you appreciate the many dining options we offer. We prepare our food fresh every day in our own kitchens using the highest quality ingredients available. We do have a robust activity calendar, outdoor bocce ball court, shuffleboard, and a penthouse level with library, game room, gym, exercise room, pool, and scenic terrace. We are located in the heart of Doylestown Borough, so there is shopping and dining within walking distance. The museums, castles, and other charms of Doylestown are truly our outdoor campus! We hope you will visit again and consider making beautiful music with us!

I visited this facility

We got a tour of Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown and looked at the facility. It fits some of the criteria that we were looking for, but not some others. We ruled it out because of the type of available apartments. Otherwise, the amenities, the facility itself, there was nothing wrong with it. It just didn't fit our desired list of things we wanted in an apartment. The tour itself was fine, it was very thorough. The person who gave us the tour was very friendly and knowledgeable. We did not have any meals or food there. At the time, they still had some COVID 19 restrictions. The apartments were kind of standard everywhere, they were equipped with kitchens that have appliances. It was kind of the standard microwave oven, stove, and washer-dryer.

I visited this facility

Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown was a great place. It seemed like they had everything that my parents needed. We visited independent living and assisted living. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very welcoming. They had a salon, a big library, a pool, and a rooftop deck, which I thought was awesome. They had a restaurant area that had a pizza oven and you could get all sorts of sandwiches and hamburgers. They had a movie theater watching area that we thought was pretty nice. They had a lot of things that were very nice there. When we were touring, there was a group of employees having lunch in an area where they do arts and crafts and stuff. Everybody was super nice, friendly, and welcoming. We were interfering in their lunch, but they were super nice. They explained a couple of things to us and answered questions.

Provider Response

Hi Susan, Thank you for taking the time to share your great experience at Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown! We value our resident and family member feedback and appreciate your confidence in our community and staff.

I visited this facility

Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown has a huge buy-in, and that doesn't make any sense for somebody who is 90 years old to pay like $90,000. The lady that gave me a tour is definitely a sales lady, she was pushy, and I felt very pressured. The tour was very nice. However, the assisted living is all on the second and third floors, which is kinda locked in like there's not many windows, and you can't go outside, so it didn't feel very nice. The apartments were very nice, big, and roomy, but I didn't see much staff, and I was more interested in how my dad would be cared for instead of a nice, big room that he can just be locked away in. Cleanliness was OK, it looked neat, but it looked a little older. They had a lot of renovations, but they were more for the common areas, like the big cafeteria downstairs. They made a comment that my dad could go there and enjoy those things only if he could get himself there. However, he is not at the level where he can walk himself around, and he might not go into assisted living. He is rehabbing right now and he needs a lot of help, so that is not a good option for him, and it doesn't feel as comfortable.

Provider Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your tour at Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown. Everyone's wish list is different, and we have many residents and family members who are highly satisfied with our layouts and options. We're sorry to hear that our community may not be the right fit for your family. For clarification, we have an entrance fee for our Independent Living and Personal Care apartments, but it amortizes over time, and could be partially refundable to the resident or their estate should the care level change. We offer a no entrance fee option for individuals entering the community at a Personal Care level as well, should they prefer not to pay the Entrance Fee. Please feel free to contact us should anything change, we'd be happy to provide an additional tour or more information.

I visited this facility

We visited Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown. My mother liked the activities. It was kind of hard because Covid was just really starting, plus they're going through renovation at the time that we saw it, but she liked it. She liked the restaurant. It had a bar and a pool. She loved the apartment. The lady who gave the tour was very nice. She told us a little bit about the community, but we live here Doylestown, so we really know a lot about it. My mom loved that they had a little library up top. They had classes for the pool like stretching. They also had a great walking track up at the top level.

Provider Response

Hi Christine! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown. Our renovations are now complete, with a brand new Bistro and Pub, a new entrance and fireplace lounge, updated lounges and much more! Our Enhanced Living team and all of our employees have gone above and beyond to keep residents engage, happy and healthy during this challenging past year, but now that vaccinations are well underway in the community, we're very much looking forward to getting back to even more of a normal. We hope you come back to visit us soon, we'd love to see you and your mom again and show you all the WEL Doylestown has to offer!

I visited this facility

I have only visited this facility as a possible residence for an elderly parent. The main floor is currently undergoing a major renovation project, so there is disarray and noise, but it will be lovely when complete. Sharon Margulies gave us a very thorough tour and, having worked there for many years, answered all questions knowledgeably and professionally. Apartments are comfortable and the options of more advanced care on-site is advantageous. Many acquaintances have placed loved ones at Wesley Enhanced Living and it merits consideration.

Provider Response

We appreciate your understanding of our appearance during the renovation project, and hope that you choose Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown so that you are able to benefit from the final product! If you'd like additional information, have further questions, would like to visit us for another tour, or enjoy lunch or dinner at the community, please reach out to Sharon, who would be happy to help. Thank you for your feedback and for considering placing your parent in our care. We look forward to hearing from you again soon.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown is a fantastic experience. My in-laws are very happy there. The people are very nice, professional, and were able to work with us very quickly. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The head of nursing gave us a very nice tour on a Sunday, whereas at other places they wouldn't even talk to us until Monday, and we needed to move very quickly. One of the residents said that it's like living on a cruise ship but on land, which is a really nice compliment. I like the atmosphere and that it doesn't smell or stink. The apartments and studios are laid out really well. My in-laws love the food.

Provider Response

Thank you for the complimentary review of Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown. We're always happy to hear that our residents and their families are pleased with our care and services. If there is anything else that we can to do assist with your in-laws transition into the community, please don't hesitate to ask!

First what is good about this facility. it is clean well cared for, it even smells "normal" I don't think the food is anything to rave about, but I think a lot of that has to do with the dietary restrictions placed on most residents. Now why I cannot recommend this facility to you. When I was there visiting my mother-in-law. The common area was filled with clearly very old people just sitting all watching one small TV. I believe there were at least 30 perhaps 50 patients on the floor and at most 4 visible staff members. My Mother-in-Law is quite ill and she told me the called for help one night (she was cold) no one ever came. There were small thefts (they called them things misplaced) in the week that she was there, and finally they did not seem to notice that she was getting sicker not better during her week of rehab. They informed us that she was not improving and she would have to leave on Friday. They provided no advice on what we should do next, and two days before she was suppose to leave my brother-in-law had to call 911 to have her returned to the hospital. I don't wish to supply to much more in the way of details but I think she might not have survived if my brother-in-law at not called for help. Of course I have no real way of knowing that, it is only how I feel. Still I would look elsewhere for services.

I visited this facility

I toured Wesley Enhanced Living, and it was very nice. We liked it, but we didn't feel like we could live there. The staff member was nice, spoke well, and answered our questions. However, it was too far from where we want to live. They have some hobby rooms, and people were enjoying different areas of the facility.

Provider Response

Hi Susan, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown isn't a good fit for you from a location perspective. Our Doylestown community offers comfort, convenience and a wide variety of programs that promote fun, engagement and socialization. If your needs or requirements ever change and you are able to reconsider, we'd love to hear back from you!

I visited this facility

Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown was a very good facility. They had a beautiful, big, open dining room. They had a calendar of activities on a daily basis. They had a workout facility on the 9th floor. It was very nice -- really state of the art. It would have fit my dad perfectly, but it was too big for him. It was 9 stories tall. He would have taken elevators and would have forgotten where to go. I think the scale of it would have overwhelmed him.

We liked Wesley Enhanced Living very much. The place is very nice and clean. The people are very friendly. They do have a lot of amenities as well like an indoor pool, an activity room, a walking track, and lots of activities too. They also had entertainment and a nice dining hall. It had just everything we would need.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I’ve been in the Heritage Towers for six years now. The cleanliness is average. The maintenance is very good. The working people are pretty young, but they give good service. They have a studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments. They have a full size bathroom and a kitchen. The room is pretty big and spacious. The food used to be better. We have a menu and you can pick from 5 or 6 different dishes. The dining facility is like a big restaurant that can sit from 2 to 6 people in a table. They have dance classes and exercises.

I found Heritage Towers since it's just close to where I live. When I visited the place, I really think that it was the best solution for mom. The place is great and it's easy to live there. She has her apartment there. The staff is nice and upbeat. There's always someone who could go to her apartment and help her take her medicine on time. The food is good. I really like the place for my mom.

I visited this facility

The facility itself is very nice. Clean, friendly staff, activities etc... My grandmother stayed their for several years after my grandfather passed away. She was in assisted living. After a period of time, representatives consistently wanted to move her to nursing care. This was not necessary and insulting as she was not an invalid. Her physical condition did deteriorate over time; however, if the staff had made a more concerted effort to get her involved with activities, I am sure she would have been in much better condition. She ended up becoming injured and was moved to nursing care, on what was supposed to be a short term basis. All her furniture and belongings remained in her apartment. At one point a staff member went into her's and other resident's apartments and stole their jewelry. She was arrested and I only partially blame the facility for this grievance. My grandmother was subjected to, what I can only describe as an uncomfortable experience. Her roommate, as their were no private rooms, suffered from dementia (or some other form mental issue) and would wake her up at night with random yelling. My grandmother was supposed to be receiving physical therapy and other recuperation to get her back to assisted living. However, it became clear the facility's management wanted her to remain in nursing, for what I can only assume was the increased cost. Rather than help make her well they consistently denied her the ability to improve, content to bleed her financially dry and stagnate physically. They would not let her do her own medication, even with my mother's assistance. They eventually gave her the wrong medication, inducing a severe diabetic reaction, which caused her to take a severe downturn. They eventually left my mother no other choice but to take her out of the facility and find a new place for her to live.I am sure the facility is great for active seniors who can take care of themselves and are completely self motivated to interact and participate in activities. However, their other support is abysmal, especially their policies on nursing. Rather than help a resident/patient get better they exposed her and my mother to undue mental and physical stress making things much worse.
