To start, the staff is very knowledgable and skilled in their craft. Whenever I have questions they always answer in a timely manner. The grounds are well maintained on a daily basis. There is always someone buffing or mopping the floors. The environment is clean, pleasant and safe.

I went to St. John Neumann Ctr for Rehab & Healthcare. My first impression was that it was OK. It's a little more bare bones, but it was clean. It's a Catholic hospital, and my brother was raised in that religion, so I considered it initially. It seemed OK, but I had a big argument with them. I toured this facility on the same day that I toured the other two places and they said they immediately could move my brother in even without all the documentation that the other places seemed to want. And I said, "No, I'm looking. I'm considering my options." It was the beginning of my search. Anyway, two days later, I got a message from my brother's present residence that he was packed up to go to this place, St. John Neumann. And that had happened without any permission from me, and so I felt that was unethical of them. I called them and they said, "Oh, well, we thought maybe you wouldn't mind." But I thought that was a crazy thing. I'm the guardian of my brother, and so I have a grudge against them. I think the director of admissions there is not to be trusted.

My friend's father entered St John Neuman with a 1st degree bed sore. It quickly deteriorated to the point that he had to be sent to the hospital for debridement! Upon his return the bed sore continued to worsen and he was discharged to his son's home with a 4 degree bed sore! There was no home care set up, no hospital bed ordered and the family was left to care for their loved one with out any support! My friend's father is now in ICU suffering from septicemia which most likely was the result of this wound. Please think twice before placing your loved one in this facility.

My mother was there for a total of 19 hours. She was taken there from Holy Redeemer Hospital. When we entered the room she was laying in a bed with no sheets, no bed/guard rails, and NO AC. The nurse mentioned it had been an ongoing issue for months. The room was absolutely filthy and no one seemed to know her condition/situation. I felt absolutely awful and scared to leave that night. I returned at 8am the following morning with a fan and the woman told me I wasn't able to see her because she was on a COVID floor. I replied, "I was here last night for 2 hours and my father and I were escorted thru these same floors/wings. You mean to tell me you walked my father and I on these wings that are blocked off for people with COVID?" Not to mention my mother who has dementia and a broken femur is currently on a COVID floor? No one said a word about this when we were there the night before!! I was obviously infuriated and scared for my mother. They then sent out two managers and they could not answer any questions as to why: 1. My elderly/sick mother was brought to a COVID unit instead of the Dementia unit. 2. Why they exposed all 3 of us to COVID! 3. Why they would even accept patients and put them in rooms with no AC in the middle of July. They said they didn't know about the AC situation but that was clearly a lie because the nurse already told us it's been going on for months. As I read some of the reviews its obviously been an issue for months. At that point, they lost all credibility/respect from me. 4. Why the room was so dirty and disgusting. They both gave conflicting answers to the above questions but it didn't even matter at that point as they were clearly not truthful. All they did was blame the night shift and wouldn't take any responsibility. I called my own ambulance and got her out of there. I'm not blind to the fact that you don't get the same love/care as your loved ones would receive at home but this place was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and no one knew what was going on with my mother. Hopefully this review finds senior management and they work on their facility/admissions/communication policies. I'm 44 years old and never wrote a bad review about anyone so please read this and know that you DON'T WANT YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!

My mother was there for a total of 15 hours for rehab. She was taken in the evening and we met the ambulance there. She laid in bed for 90 mins before anyone came to acknowledge that she arrived. While my husband & I waited for staff to arrive we noticed how absolutely filthy the room was. We had to clean off a brown substance from the rail of her bed that we assume was feces. The end of her bed was covered in a sticky substance. The floor had 2 dead roaches and a peach colored pill. This was a room that had been “cleaned” for her arrival. There was no working AC in mid June and the room was stifling. We cleaned the room knowing that we would be getting her out to there ASAP. We left at 11PM and went back at 8AM and she hadn’t been given any of her medications for CHF, diabetes, asthma or pain from 2 broken arms due to a fall. After 15 hours no meds we called an ambulance and had her taken back to the hospital. Her oxygen level was in the 80s and they admitted her. She also sat overnight soiled and now has a UTI. This all happened in 15 hours I can’t imagine what would have happened had she been there longer. Do NOT take your loved ones there. It’s not about being short staffed, this is systemic ineptitude and laziness. How anyone can care for people in absolute filth is disgusting. We have photos of how bad her room was. St. John Neumann is looking down from heaven ashamed this place bears his name.

I have placed my husband in St John Neumann Ctr For Rehab & Healthcare, and he's in memory care. I was familiar with it because my grandmother had been in there in the skilled nursing portion. They're taking good care of him. He's safer than he was at home. The admissions person was extremely helpful. The one thing that really made me feel good is that she listened to me when I was telling her my issues. That made all the difference in the world; that somebody cared that much. That was definitely a plus. When I was dealing with her, I was also dealing with my attorney because we were looking into Medicaid at that point. When my attorneys talked with them, they were very pleased with how they responded. The very first day we went through, I was introduced to the head nurse who gave me her home cell phone number. I was really impressed that she would give me her home cell phone. I just felt that they were very caring. Although sometimes when you walk through there, it doesn't appear so because you have people moaning and whining and wandering; but I know they take good care of my husband, making sure he showered, and he's taken care of. Sometimes when I went I couldn't find him, but they know exactly where he is because he wanders throughout the floor. There are different seating rooms with TVs and stuff. I was there this afternoon. I walked in, and he wasn't in the big room where I normally see him. I went to his room, and he wasn't there. On my way out somebody said, "Your husband is over here." They knew where he was. I think they keep a really good eye on the people there. They do the best they can because every patient in there has a different issue. It has to be stressful, but I'm very pleased with the place. I feel comfortable leaving my husband there. I did go one day for lunch and I was a little concerned because what was on his plate was rice. a vegetable, and a chicken leg. He's not good with a knife and a fork to be able to do that, so I cut it up for him. I mentioned it to the staff, and she changed his chart that his meat needed to be chopped up. They're very responsive. The food looks substantial. It's a nice plate of vegetables, rice, potatoes, and a meat. Then there's juice, pudding, and milk. It's a nice sized meal. It's an older building, so there are spots where it looks like it could use a new coat of paint. Every day when I walk in there, there's somebody mopping the hallways and buffing the floors. There are people walking around trying to keep things as neat as they can. They just need a little updating. They have bingo. I was there one day when they played Name That Tune. I know they're playing bingo on Thursday, so they probably have two or three activities a week. I'm pretty sure they have more in the other unit. There are not as much in the memory care unit. He also has a hospice facility coming in, and I know they're taking him to bingo (which is actually right down the hallway). It surprised me it was cheaper than I was originally quoted because he's in a room with two other gentlemen. The room rate is lower. Compared to other places that I looked at, it's cheaper.

Absolute garbage. Filthy environment, food for residents is barely edible w little to no concern of dietary restrictions, and mostly inattentive and neglectful staff who should not being working in a caretaking field. Also, limited activities w no help from staff. A very deceiving place as it presents beautiful upon entrance, but morbid and depressing where residents stay.

i was a patent for rehab August thru October 2021. words i associate with this horrible place - neglect, filthy rooms, no compassion, food barely edible (one step above garbage). there were no activities that i saw. the aides, nurses the managers ignored the patients. i rarely saw a dr. & if he did show up, he was outta there in 3 minutes. i never had a worse experience in my life. my roommate was a diabetic whose sugar was never tested & insulin forgotten until her daughter raised heck. im still waiting for my permanent covid vaccination card after 6 weeks, to be mailed to me (after many msgs i left there) cos no one answers their phone. id NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

The staff rarely answers the phone and, when they do, they often hang up or lie to you. And the phone message that you receive while you are on hold is a blatant lie. SJN does not retain nurses for decades and it does not retain aides even for days. (There is constant staff turnover.) In addition, and the tone is set from the top, the administrative staff is not only unkind but arrogant. So, unless you want the worst possible outcome for your loved one and you want to drive yourself crazy in the process, you do not want to send your loved one to St. John Neumann, either for short-term or long-term care. Believe me, they know nothing about either rehabilitation or healthcare.

Both of my parents needed care at the same time. My father needs dementia care and my mother rehab. The staff, including the admission directors, social workers, CNA, receptionists were so kind and accommodating. The decision was difficult but they made it easier by listening to my families needs and helping every step of the way. I was unable to take a tour because of COVID but the director took pictures of an empty room. It was clean and cozy. Still early but more to come on activities. The food isn't the best.

Do not put your loved one in this place. They are understaffed and the staff working are inept. My brother is in this place and has bedsores. They don't answer the phone when you call and if they do answer there is a good chance they will hang up on you. I have been waiting for a call back for several days. The State should look into this institution. With Covid it's hard to tell what is going on. I don't trust them. The State needs to investigate this place.

This place is extremely DIRTY . There is old Nice traps with dead mice on it from Months back .old broken furniture feces stays on toilet for 3 to four days broken furniture and beds. Horrible horrible horror. I was a visiting nurse and would visit some patients there. And the and some Of the health aides are unprofessional. They talk on There Cell phones about problems at home and even argue load conversations of personal business. I felt so sad these people had to stay in such filth.

I transferred my mother over to St. John Neumann Center. It is a very nice, clean place. There, the nurses do their jobs, they have good food and a lot of activities for the patients, and the grounds are well kept. It is really nice. They bring in people who sing music, have big parties for Christmas and Thanksgiving, and do arts and crafts.

Nursing and laundry were horrific. This facility completely lacks communication between departments. Nursing staff is very neglectful of residents who cannot speak up for themselves. Also witnessed verbal abuse.

St. John Neumann Center's staff was great and did everything they could. I'd recommend them only if their loved ones are very old. They just need some type of dementia or Alzheimer's unit. The staff really did try.

My father was sent here from Frankford Hospital after a fall for Physical therapy. After 5 Day we demanded to have him removed. Went in able to take care of himself and left not knowing how to do anything! Got him to the hospital and was told if we had left him there one more night we would of lost him? I am so saddened that this happens more than we know. Thank God we trusted our instincts and seen that this was not normal like they tried to tell us! But for all the people that are in there with no family members to watch over them my heart breaks.

My aunt is at Saint John Neumann Nursing Home. She is staying in a shared room. They have a nice big dining room. Outside, they have a nice enclosed courtyard where they can sit. They have mass every day at 11:00 o'clock. Everyone is very nice.

My grandmother was in and out of hospitals several times a year over the course of the last few years. One of the doctors recommended that we should enroll her in a nursing home for a little bit of time where she would get round-the-clock care. Since St. John Neumanns was very close to my mother and all of her sisters, the decision was very easy to make where to enroll her. There were several ladies from the area that we knew that worked there and always said that St. John Neumann's was a great nursing home and that my grandmother would be looked after well. Since my grandmother did not know english well, one of her daughters were always with her through the visiting hours. The staff was very great in accommodating my mother or her sisters whenever they stayed. The staff was very friendly. In the two months that my grandmother lived there, my family members and I have never had any complaints about the staff. Her medicine was always brought to her in a timely fashion. The dietary aids and recreational aids were always amazing to be around. Even though my grandmother did not know English, a lot of the aids that worked there knew my grandmother's native language. This made her stay there a lot more comfortable. There was a peace of mind with my family even when we were not there with her because there were so many people in the staff that could communicate with her. My grandmother even enjoyed her time with the physical therapist that was assigned to her. Overall, her stay at St. John Neumann's was made very comfortable because of the great accommodations and great staff there.

I frequently visit Saint John Neumans nursing home as my great grandmother and her companion are residents. We initially had to place her there after she had a stroke 95, up until then she lived by herself with her male companion who she's been living with for 50 years now. After the nursing home accepted all their paperwork they were in on the non-alzheimers wing. We got into a mild argument with the facility after they would not allow them to share a room because they are not married (Catholic run place). Although we tried everything we could they refused to let them stay in the same room. Overall the facility is very nice, and very clean. They have recently had to move over to the Alzheimer's wing as her companion is showing clear signs of the disease. This wing is not as nice as the other one, but thats understandable as it is more like a hospital then the other side. Overall iv been very pleased with the place even if its not a perfect place. Its still pretty good though.

I am very pleased with St. John Neumann Nursing Home. The staff are always pleasant and very willing to help with any questions, concerns, or needs for my Grandmother. Being that she has Alzheimer's we were very wary about choosing a nursing home because we needed to make sure she was being taken care of well and not being abused. She wouldn't be able to tell us if there was something wrong so we needed to fully trust the facility. St. John Neumann and its staff has our full trust. We received many recommendations for them over the years prior to us placing our Grandmother there. The facility, and my Grandmother's room are always kept very clean and in good order. My Grandmother seems to be very happy there as they offer different amenities such as a game room, a dining room, a salon, holiday-themed parties, and various other activities. They also have flexible visiting hours during certain situations. I highly recommend them as a nursing home care provider for anyone who is interested.

This is a very large one floor building, it can be confusing to navigate. But the staff is over all friendly and will help you find what or who your looking for. Residents are rarely in their room, with a large chapel in the main lobby and activity rooms on each wing resident have plenty to do. The staff can be over welled from time to time, but they do the best they can to be there for each and every resident.
