They're very caring. They have physical therapy and occupational therapy. They have a salon for men and women, they have an activity room for the residents, and they have lounges set up with big-screen TVs. I toured Oakwood Residence. I liked that they are willing to serve you food in the room if you need it. They did a lot of care. They included a lot of possible care, like helping you bathe or helping you get dressed. That was included in the price. I didn't try the food. The dining area was nice, it seemed like there were choices, and the staff seemed very nice.

Oakwood Residence was the cheapest one I found compared to other places. But they couldn't take me because of my money, and because I weigh 450 pounds. They said that if I fell, they wouldn't be able to get me back up again. The atmosphere of the place was nice, but the bathrooms in the rooms look like they were too small. I use a walker, and I don't know how I'd be able to get in there. The rooms were nice, and I would have to go in with another person. They had all kinds of things and activities like bingo, and they go places. I was able to meet the one person that runs the place and she was very helpful. The facility itself was very clean, I just think the rooms could be a little bigger.

I didn't really like Oakwood Residence. They only had a microwave and a little refrigerator, so you can't cook your own food. They had doctors and nurses on board. I saw the doctor's office right there, but it wasn't worth it. It had an odor to it too, it wasn't as clean as the other ones. The employees and everyone there were very nice and very helpful. The rooms were very small, everything was in one room. It's a nice area though, the crime rate is very good around there.

My aunt is in Oakwood Residence. I had a good experience with them. They were helpful. Any questions I had, they answered me. Any time I called, they called me right back. I have no complaints. My aunt seems to like it. She has been in the assisted living part for almost two weeks now, but we're not allowed to go into the rooms. They sent me pictures, and I could see it was a very nice large room with a nice closet, a bed, a nice comfy chair, and the bathroom is nice. She said the food is good. You get a menu and you pick what you want. You have two or three choices, and you have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I can also bring her snacks, and she has a little refrigerator in her room. She has no complaints about the food. I love the service. The staff has been very nice. This one staff even sits with her and talks to her. If I email them, they email me right back. I've only been to the main door. I haven't seen the rest of it. When she went in, she was quarantined for 14 days. From the brochure, there seemed to be a lot of activities, but she hasn't started with them yet. For Thanksgiving, they gave everybody a big dinner. They had a big table set up with all kinds of food. For the money, it was very good. I've looked at a lot of assisted living places, and I thought it was reasonable.

We have chosen Oakwood Residence for my relative. It is the best and it's reasonable in her price range. She would have a single room there. The bathroom is split among two people. We would take care of the laundry and anything she would need. The staff member who accommodated me was very nice. The room was more like a hotel room. I didn't see a beauty salon. However, they have an activity room. They have a piano there and they have entertainment. I saw people playing bingo and that's all.

We visited Oakwood Residence. The room shown to us was pretty small. Some of the staff were okay, some were not. The dining area was under construction at that time. They had lounge rooms where they can play and do activities. They showed us the hallways, the cafeteria where they eat, and a room where they can relax and watch TV.

We saw Oakwood Residence. It was the least expensive cost wise, it was nice, but not as nice as the other two we saw, but the manager was fantastic, very helpful, and informative. That's what we were considering for my mother, and it was 5 minutes from my office which was very advantageous. It was not new, but it was acceptable, and they had a lot of stuff to keep people active and get them out of their rooms.

I'm interested in Oakwood Residence, but it's costly. The rooms look like they belong in a five-star hotel. The activities were great and include live entertainment. Everything about the place was really nice. I just wish it was more accessible for people of lower income.

The food at Oakwood Residence is standard for an assisted living place. It is like catering-style food. I like the size of his room and of the bathroom, and it is very clean. I like the size of it because it is best for my dad; it is just a great fit for him. The hallways are very wide. They will have no problems getting into their rooms. They may have a little trouble getting into the bathroom because if they needed assistance, the person who’s assisting them would have to be already in the bathroom because the wheelchair would be blocking the doorway too much to allow another person to get in there. I feel that if the wheelchair was just outside the door, it would be better. But they try to put the wheelchair all the way into the bathroom where you wouldn’t be able to fit all the way in there. They have a calendar, and they have several activities throughout the day, so I feel like they try to keep them active. You are not being billed separately like a lacarte. It is not based on their level of care, which I like. I am very happy.

I visited Oakwood Residence. My problem with that one was that I had macular degeneration, and they had an awful lot of wood paneling; that was not good for my eyes. The person who toured me around was the one in-charge of Oakwood, and he was very informative. They served us lunch. I had tour of the room, and the hallways had paneling. When I walked in, it was dark, and with my eyesight, I need more light. However, the people were wonderful. They were friendly. The food was good. They did everything they could to make us feel welcome.

I visited Oakwood Residence for my sister. It was very nice and clean. The people were nice. I like the area; it was clean and nice. However, my sister was not qualified. The rooms were beautiful. They were remodeled. It was a beautiful place. Their dining room was very nice. They had nice table clothes. It looked like a restaurant. I would recommend Oakwood. The people seemed happy, and the facility was very nice.
