Hillside Assisted Living wasn't appropriate for my friend, but they were very caring and they seemed to be really interested in keeping the residents active and doing different things with them. They would go out and do some community things. They had a therapy dog there that I totally fell in love with. They had a nice game room and they did have a smoking area, which was something we were looking for, but it was at a safe distance and they had like a shelter for them. The administrator walked through everything. The nurse was there and she walked through what needs my friend would have. They spoke with a doctor and they had really good communications with the doctor about what care she would need. They're very friendly. There were just some steps there and she goes out. If there hadn't been steps, she probably would have been OK, but they had safety ramps there for people. It was a little bit smaller facility. They were definitely very active at trying to get to her and discuss and help place her. The place was clean and taken care of. They were guest oriented.

I am writing to let everyone know what an awesome, family home Hillside Assisted Living is! I have volunteered there for quite a while and was so impressed with it, that I knew that my parents would live there someday. The staff is highly competent, as well as caring. I was invited to have lunch and brought my parents with me. The cook was obviously top-notch, as the food was delicious! I have visited other homes that are run by corporations and they are all about business. There is no family feel to these large places. My parents were definitely impressed with Hillside. Stay tuned! I will get on here and give more details as I have information to share! We are currently rating this home as 5 stars!

The staff was extremely incompetent and did not care for my Grandmother properly. She went without her hearing aid for several weeks and it was never replaced. While the facilities were clean and respectable, the nursing staff as well as the receptionists were extremely unfriendly. When she became severely ill, they did not inform us right away that she was not only ill but had also fallen and injured her him yet again. Again, it appeared to be a nice clean place on the surface, but was not ultimately nice at all. The food was not very good, nor did they give the residents any other options to what they ate. I will say there was one nurse who was actually very respectful to my Grandmother as well as my family. But I also think that she may have been acting nice and then mistreating my Grandmother behind our back. I would not recommend this facility at any cost.
