Scarlet Oaks has been completely renovated and it quiet beautiful inside. The mansion in which they hold events for residents is truly a gem with a beautiful story behind it. The staff members are warm and kind. They have birthday parties and hold bingo games. They have a beautiful gazebo off the AL and a park not far from the community. they also take residents out on trips to the store ect. Overall in comparison to many of other facilities its a great spot.

I had a family member stay her for 6 months in 2016. The care ok in the beginning, I expressed my concerns and changes were made immediately. I must say that there are caring staff working in this facility. I would use this facility again if needed.

Scarlet Oaks Retirement Commun was old and not a modern facility. My mother wasn't happy with the food. I didn't see any of the activities while I was there for a week. Their lunchroom is in the basement area. There's not much to do around there; there isn't an outdoor activity because it's a wooded area. She has a small room with a closet and a bathroom.

Scarlet Oaks was very old and needs renovation, but the people were very nice. The rooms were not good, but the location was beautiful.

If you really love your Family or friend please dont send them here It is dusty all over ,housekeeping very poor food is extremely poor ,all processed food servers do not seem to care if you need anything or not . neither does management . Staffing very poor many temporary you will wait an hour ++ when call light needed . Problems too numerous to count

TERRIBLE! DO NOT ADMIT ANYONE YOU LOVE! Understaffed, disrespectful aides and nurses; no dignity given to residents; dirty; depressing; horrible food; absolutely no pain management from facility doctors; has suffered many major skin tears due to ineptness and carelessness of aides. Had to send her to ER 8/18/2014 because skin tear was so bad it needed stitches. I could go on and on but you get the picture. I have been trying for 3 months to find a different facility but all the nice/good ones have long waiting lists. Her pain management doctor advised me to request Hospice care, which I plan to do today.

Look else where or have your loved one cared for at home. This place is depressing, not near enough caregivers, carenot good at all, kept his oxygen too low and told me the higher numbers meant nothing. One way ticket to out of this world. Entertainment was good on a Thursday before my loved one died there. Dr. Was heartless. This was in June 2012. Not even worth one star.

Scarlet Oaks Retirement Community impresses us the most. This one got a nice park next to it. It has what looked like a castle as part of the complex that you can use, e.g., have meetings, etc. We got to see a room and it was very nice and spacious. The lady who gave the tour did a good job showing us the place.

My dear mother lived there 18 month ago. She was there for only 4 months and she developed a large bed sore on her bottom. She lost weight and was unhappy there. They do not have enough help and several times they would just put her dinner tray on the bed side table and not assist her. She had a stroke and needed assistance. I called the director of nursing several times, but she would not return my call. My mom was neglected at scarlet oaks and I was able to find a better place for my mom to get therapy.
