My wife had a stay due to illness at the Otterbein Skilled Nursing Facility wing at their Lebanon, Ohio complex. The treatment she received from the nurses, aides, therapists and all the staff were amazing. They were also very accommodating to me while I stayed with her. They not only took great care and time to work with her daily needs and rehabilitation but also explained to me what they were doing, why she needed it and how it will help get better and also taught me how to continue her rehabilitation when she went home.

Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community is excellent. We went to various places. We saw standalone places, we saw places that were kind of like apartment situations, and we saw the activity centers and that sort of thing. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. They have about everything you need to have from houses and two-bedrooms all the way to nursing home setting. I saw one of the restaurants, a game room, the area where they play outside, and their little lake or pool or whatever. They're very nice. The food was excellent. I had lunch there.

We toured Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. It's user-friendly. It's just going to be more comfortable for me. The people are extremely nice and extremely helpful. It's a group of buildings. I'll have my own front door that walks outside instead of opening my front door and being in a hallway. We met some people as we were walking through looking at the place, and they were very friendly and immediately started talking to me, and gave me some tips on people to call and ask questions from.

My mother lived in Matthew's Hall Otterbein and recieved compassionate memory and end of life care. I am grateful to all the staff who cared for her. They were loving, kind and always went above and beyond. There attention to detail was amazing. When they noticed physical and emotional changes in my mom, they quickly moved to meet her needs and always called to inform me and gain my input. They treated my Mom like their own mother and for that I am grateful.

I like the Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. I was impressed with it when I went out there. They've got a woodshop in the building, so I'm impressed by that. I liked what I saw as far as the availability of various things. It's less expensive than the rest of the structure, so the cost was a little less. I like the atmosphere. The cleanliness is top-notch. It's a nice place. They have a variety of amenities. They have a place to stay and a place to eat. The food tasted good.

Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community was great. I wanted to go there right away. It's huge. It's amazing. They have a lot of people, so it's pretty hard to get in. They are building more houses or villas. Everybody was very nice and it seemed like all the residents were happy. I looked at the condos, and I was gonna get one of those. I could not afford the houses. They had apartments, too, but I didn't want one. They had crafts, water exercise, walking, and exercising. They were having meal testing that day, and we got to partake in that, so that was fun. The food was excellent. The facility was very nice.

Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community was beautiful. It was well kept and they were located in a really nice area. It was probably worth it if we could afford it because it was very, very nice. The staff that we talked to was very nice and very caring. There were tons of things to do there for people our age. We saw some residents playing cards, while others were making crafts. We saw a guy in the woodworking shop. He was making birdhouses and all kinds of stuff, and they were beautiful. They had a really nicely equipped exercise room and a swimming pool. They showed us the two-bedroom apartment, but it was a little small for us.

I'm moving into Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. I need to get a lot of exercise. I've been working with a therapist, and at Otterbein, they have an indoor pool, and they have a YMCA. There are several different buildings, but I'm in the main one where everything is in that building. They have a huge, beautiful dining room. They let us eat dinner there, and it was delicious. The room is gorgeous. It has like nine windows in it, so I can get a nice breeze in there. I'm on the third floor. They have two theaters with seats that recline, they have pool tables, and they play games. There's just so much to do there. My daughter and I went, we looked at it and we knew it was a place for me. The person who gave the tour was Marybeth and she was amazing. She was a sweetheart. One of our main reasons is that, from independent living, they also have assisted living in the same area. You might have to move to another apartment, but I don't have to find another place to live. And then they also have memory care. They paid for our dinner for us to eat in the dining room with all the residents. There were people in the exercise room, there were people playing volleyball in the pool, and then there were people walking around the halls getting exercise that way. Plus, they have a generator, so if the electricity goes out, you still will be able to get to your room. The facility is also beautiful.

My sister-in-law was staying at Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. I like the availability of the staff. The staff was attentive to my sister-in-law when she was there for three weeks. The facility is clean, comforting, and inviting. They have restaurants, a hairdresser, and little stores on site. It was more like the feeling of an indoor village versus just a nursing home or assisted living property. They had things to encompass everything that you need, whatever the stage of your need is.

I moved into Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. The premises are very appealing. It is extremely well-maintained. There are several activities appropriate for me, and they are outstanding. You are made aware of them through a channel on the TV, so you know what's going on that day or in the future. They have off-site activities, where you would travel in a van they provide. They also have activities on-site. They have a YMCA on the premises. They have a theater and a barbershop. They also have a very nice indoor pool. You wouldn't have to leave if you didn't want to. There are a lot of younger seniors living here, so it doesn't look like a nursing home. Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community has three different types of rooms. There are apartments that you can rent, as well as the patio homes. They have single family homes that you can also rent. You can get a higher level of care in any one of those three types of units. They have a 4-unit building with 4 patio homes. It's very roomy and well-maintained. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The location is a country setting. It's spread out over 1200 acres that have access to a golf course. The food here is very good. They have two restaurant-style facilities on the premises. They have a main dining area and a cafe. You can order food and have it delivered to you, if you're in one of the remote locations other than the main complex. You have the option to go with a monthly food allowance and pay for that independently, or you can buy individual meals. You only pay for what you actually use.

The reason we chose Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community is that they have many activities such as a woodworking shop, a model railroad shop, a very large sewing area, and a cafe in addition to a regular meal setting. We liked the homes. They were two- and three-bedrooms. They were set out on a very well-landscaped area. It's very nice inside, very well laid out, with lots of room for furniture and storage. They have small homes or cottages that are standalone. They also have duplexes where they have four connecting homes, too, but we're looking at an independent house. As needs change, you can move to an apartment. Anna was very helpful. She set up tours of three homes for us. She provided us with all the information and a tour of all their facilities and basically gave us prices for the different style homes and apartments. They have several plans of payments and she reviewed all those with us, too. They have a garden area outside and theaters. They have a YMCA branch there with all their exercise equipment, swimming pool, and hot tub. They have guest facilities where families that come to visit can stay. They have different meal plans.

Otterbein Lebanon was very nice and huge. They have a large variety of places from apartments to smaller cottages to larger ones. They have a very nice main building in the front of the community. It has a pool and it has all sorts of activities. They had a nice dining room and a coffee shop. It's very nicely laid out. I have no fault with it. It's just not quite an area we'd like to be in. We'd like to be closer to where we live now. It's about half an hour away, but we had heard such good things about it that we thought we'd look at it. They have a lot of art activities, things you do with your hands, a library, lots of different clubs, recreational clubs, book clubs, and things for every interest. I think they had things for men doing shop-type work. They have a little bit of everything. They have a beauty shop. We ate in the cafe, but I don't know about the formal dining room. The staff was very nice, very helpful, very accommodating, and very informative. They have some very good brochures to help you understand what they have and what you have to do. There's plenty to look at to go over to try to make a decision. They said we could come back and they would arrange for us to tour one of the types of homes that we would want if we chose to. They also have religious services and activities. They're Methodist based, and they have a priest that comes in for people who are Catholic. They have all levels, independent, assisted, and nursing.

Otterbein Lebanon is about five or six miles from where my husband is. It's out in the country. It's very nice and it's got all the facilities right there, so you don't have to go anywhere. But still, if your spouse is not with you, then it's kind of far away. I like it and everything, but it's just too far away for me. I've been on a tour, and I've also been out there to see a friend. She was in independent living, and she was there temporarily. Her family was moving, so they put her in there until they got moved and got settled, and then she moved in with them. She was there probably for about nine months. Everything is open, so you can go from the office to the restaurant, and different things, but if you're wanting to go to like the apartments or to the assisted living or something like that, you have to go outside and go to other different community. It's so big, and I found it difficult to go to different areas. My friend liked the activities. She said it broke up a boring day as she put it, and she was very high on them. She said that she went there because her friends were there.

My mother will be moving into Otterbein Lebanon. The tour was great. I have lived in Lebanon my entire life and I did not know that Otterbein had what it has. I liked all they had to offer for the seniors to do. They won't be just sitting in a house by themselves unless they want to do that. There's a lot for them to do there. It's very nicely laid out and well taken care of. The staff was very informative. He didn't leave anything out. It was very clean. I actually saw a couple of maintenance guys out doing their thing.

Everything at Otterbein Lebanon was nice; I didn't find anything that I did not like there. I didn't get to meet too many of the staff, but they greeted me, and the lady who did the tour was very knowledgeable and not too pushy. It was a good experience.

Otterbein Lebanon was very clean and nice. We were looking at the independent living and at the patio homes. They were very nice and very clean. Price wise, it's very expensive though. The staff was every bit very helpful at getting us in there to see the homes and everything. He was very good. It was very easy for a person to get in and out of the facility. I walk with a walker, and it was very easy. It was laid out very nice.

I toured Otterbein Lebanon for my mom, and it was great. I liked that there were a lot of different options and they had a lot of different floor plans available. They also had tons of activities. The staff was great. The menu seemed good. They had lots of different crafts classes like painting and knitting, and they make gifts for homeless people. They also had a theater, a swimming pool, and a gym.

We chose Otterbein Lebanon for our parents because it's close to my sister and I, so it's convenient. It has more amenities than any other place, and they have all the different levels that they need, starting out in independent all the way up to assisted living and memory care. There's a place for every single level they might need. The staff is incredible. My parents had dinner there for the first time last night, and they said it was excellent. There's something going on every day, but they're restricted right now with COVID. You have to quarantine for a week. Compared to everybody else, their price is pretty comparable. They weren't the least expensive, but they also weren't the most expensive. They were perfect for what we were looking for.

Otterbein Lebanon is very nice. The staff is very nice. Everything is wonderful. The place itself is beautiful. I would recommend it. My mother's room is very nice, very clean, and very spacious. They did bridge and played games. They have a nice restaurant on campus. It was a great cost.

Once mom went into the secure unit we found out what a nightmare it was. They lost her glasses, her teeth, most of her clothes and it is filthy beyond words. The smell sticks on you after visiting. They do not communicate with the family at all, and when they do, not sure how much is true. They said they did activities and after visiting random times and days, they never appeared to do anything. If you love your family member this is not the place for them.

I went to Otterbein Lebanon, and apparently they did not even know I was scheduled for a visit, so I gave myself a tour. I walked around the facility, and I really liked it. However, they said I was handicapped, and not qualified. I saw the swimming pool, and they have a hot tub, a gym, and some weight-lifting equipment.

My dad will be moving into Otterbein Lebanon in the beginning of March. It was wonderful, I didnt have any complaints, and its a very nice facility. You can go from independent living, all the way to specialized care. The appearance and cleanliness was good. It was close to his family, and he liked having his own place, until he needs to go to assisted living. The have all kinds of clubs, billiards room, open restauarant, dining hall, a couple of giant pools, train room, and woodworking shop. Outside they have a lake, shuffle board, Bocci ball, and dog run. It was 10 minutes from us.

Otterbein Lebanon is very nice. It's a great place with all kinds of neat things in there. They have a nice restaurant and everything is good. The food was OK and they have activities. They have a really nice rec center, a pool, weight room, and game rooms. It just costs too much. The salesman I met was pretty cool.

My mother has been in Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices for 14 years now. They have anything you could possibly want except assisted living. They only have 38 assisted living rooms for over 1,000 people. She had a 2-bedroom, 2 bath house, and she now is in a 2-bedroom, 2 bath apartment. You could have houses all the way up to four bedrooms and a den, and you can have houses all the way down to 1-bedroom, 1-bath, and a living room. It doesn't have a whole lot of assisted living. They're trying to do aging in place, but they're having trouble hiring enough staff and I have to have somebody who's going to be there when they're supposed to. They have independent living, and an absolutely exceptional memory care and nursing home. The assisted living is about to be built over the next three years. You have choices for food. If you're independent, you can cook your own. The dining room is open and you can buy a meal plan or you can go in one meal at a time. They have a cafeteria, a bistro that is brand new, and they just opened a new theater. I can't say anything bad about them except that I need an assisted living apartment, not an assisted living room. They work hard out there. The staff members are the best part of the whole place.

My husband has been there 2-1/2 years. The food is sub-par. He has talked to the head of the kitchen multiple times to no avail. The nurse on duty agreed that his EGGS were unrecognizable! Recently he pushed the button for a drink at 8:30 and got no response until TEN THIRTY!! Since he is paralyzed from the waist down, he could do nothing but wait. Weekends are dreadfully understaffed. TWO AIDES FOR SIXTY PEOPLE?? I'm currently trying to find another home!!

Otterbein seemed well-organized with a genuine concern for the people and had a variety of activities that seemed well-planned. I think it's recommended by the Alzheimer's Association. They have adult residences for older people, but they also have adult day care and all of that is very attractive to me. They have a reputation for being well-run, they have an involved director and lots of activities. It was very good. I have a lot of trust in the Otterbein organization. They have group activities and individual activities. They can go outside, there are games and can rest when they need to rest.

Otterbein is run by a Christian organization, and it is a very beautiful and gracious place. I have an aunt who is living out there right now. It is a very family-oriented place. I am 75 years old, I was born and raised around here, and this place has been there as long as I have been here. When it first started, it was an orphanage, and they still have the original building. They had many acres out there; they had a farm raising beef cattle, and that was how they supplemented their income. It has grown over the years into a senior citizen community, and it has just been part of my life -- all of my life. There is no problem as far as I know with the sanitation. They have different -- what they call -- holes that were donated in memory of several of the leading citizens in and around Warren county, and they also have an apartment building, they have single rooms -- just plain bedrooms -- and then duplex cottages that they rent out. Some of them are older, others are newer, and they are in the process of building even more now. And they are very reasonably priced.

My parents are at Otterbein. They live in a little duplex, and it has everything that they need. They have transportation available on campus because it is a huge place. They do have a clinic, and they have activities they can go to. On Fridays they have a concert in the park and live bands that play different types of music during the summer. They also have religious and arts activities. They have just been out there for a couple of weeks, but so far, we are pretty impressed.

Otterbein was a very large campus. It was very nice. They had the full range from independent bungalow to assisted living, and I believed they also had nursing homes. It was an all-in-one care, but it was a spread out facility on a very large property. The independent living was acres and acres, and then they had one large recreational building that had couple of different places to eat and coffee shops. They had another building for assisted living and yet another building for a nursing home. I loved the amenities. If my mom could have handled living on a big campus, that was going to be it. If you were able to go out and wanted a bigger property, then Otterbein it is. It had a pool, and it was state of the art. The apartments were very up-to-date and spacious. It was very nice.

I was able to stay in Otterbein. I have mostly good to say about it. I didn't have assisted living as a patient. I hate to keep sounding negative because I don't have negative feelings about it. I know they came and asked me to go around and play a game. I just wasn't feeling up to it so I didn't play. But the people that did, who were in the assisted living, they were all really nice and friendly. The food was OK -- well most of it. You had your choice of which one to eat. It was good. When I first got there, I was having hallucinations. They are trying to give me medicine that was not directly from my neurologist. I gave them a hard time and felt real bad about it. So I went back and apologized to him, but they are all real kind. The nurses that actually take care of you are real kind. I wasn't especially happy. but it was because of being sick and not having to do with Otterbein. I think they did the best job that they could have at the time.

The only place we really looked in to was Otterbein and that's where mom got her rehab. It was an absolutely wonderful place and I could not say enough good about it. It used to be built in the middle of nowhere, but now they had a race lane/casino which was not even 5 minutes away. There was also a lot of shopping and malls. But even though it had them around it, it was still like out in the Country. So, it was in a beautiful setting with lots of open spaces. Mom's room was in the old facility and the rooms there were very clean and neat, but were very small. In the new facility, they had a beautiful indoor swimming pool and beautiful dining rooms. The staff was wonderful. In fact, they had called her several times since she's been out of the facility just checking out to see how she was doing. We would go visit them on Monday and she's going to take a lot of teddy bears for the people there from her collection.

I was looking for an assisted living facility, but since my mom-in-law has deteriorated, she is right now at Otterbein Senior Lifestyle which is a nursing home. We chose this facility because first it was church related and second, my mother is there in there independent living area. On the campus, they have houses, they have patio homes, and they have smaller apartment that deals with the independent living. They have assisted living and full nursing care as well. She is in a private room. She has a private bath and nice big windows. In her room, she has her hospital bed, a large TV cabinet, and a large triple dresser, chairs. We brought all her stuff from home and it all fits beautifully. She has her own art work. It's a nice room, but the closet space is just too small. I've eaten there several times and the food is excellent. The first six months my mother-in-law was there, she was very angry, very abusive to her caretakers. She was hitting people, throwing things, using horrible language, but still they were very good to her. They were very patient and kind until realized that they are very kind to her and they are no longer having problems like that. She is taking some medication to help with her mood. They were wonderful.
