I went to Maywood Manor. I thought that they were very customer friendly. I did get a tour and I just feel that they definitely followed up with me. So, there is nothing negative that I have to say about them. I would encourage improvement in the memory section, because I knew that they had a memory section for women, but they did not have it for men. Everything else was good. They have a TV room, they have a salon, they have a sign-in section, an outdoor section for those that want to sit outside and gather, and they had nice landscaping. She also talked about activities, you know, an activity person that comes in to try to go over or even be willing to listen to any other options of activities that incoming residents or current residents may have.

What I like about Maywood Manor is that it was an independent facility and you can have your own apartment. As far as I can tell, the facility is fine, but the rooms are small and had to be shared. They were pretty short-staffed too. The place seemed run down and it hasn’t been refurbished for a long time -- I think it needs a makeover.

We happened to be in the area and decided to visit Maywood Manor assisted living facility while searching for a place for our aunt to live in the area. The outside area was very nicely maintained. The foyer was fresh and bright with very nice decorations and furniture. All of the indoor rooms had plenty of fresh air and light. Each room was beautifully decorated and furnished. The colors throughout the building were well thought out. The many outings and activities included local sight seeing, festivals, fairs, music, guest speakers, seminars, celebrations, fitness programs, religious gatherings, games and parties. The list of activities at this facility was extensive and included everything that other people who live in the community can enjoy. The residents may take exercise classes such as yoga and aerobics, or use the weight training and other equipment. They may also enjoy the outer walkways around the building and courtyard. The residents are encouraged to enjoy physical activity as much as possible by the staff. The food we saw looked nutritious, delicious and smelled really good. The dining rooms included both casual and formal options. Their menus offer a variety of healthy food options. The snacks also looked interesting and healthy with a nice mix of nutritious options. We also liked that they encourage drinking plenty of fluids for healthy hydration each day. The private rooms all had a great deal of natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture. Each featured plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings that were personalized. All of the seniors looked very well cared for and seemed quite content living within this environment - where they had plenty of freedom, in a safe and sensible place.
