This place is like a cruise on land. There's so many activities and programs and the food is pretty good compared to most places. The staff seem genuinely happy to be there which is great for my Dad! It's the little things that they pay attention to that makes a huge difference.

Avalon Park was fantastic. The staff there was great and very friendly. All the residents seemed to be very happy with where they were at. It was a great tour experience. Maintenance was good. I didn't see any issues with that at all. It's very clean. Lisa was awesome. She did a great job giving me the information that I was looking for, showing me around, and letting me know what type of activities they offer there.

I've been to Avalon Park twice, and both times, the tour was very comprehensive. Lisa who does the tours is very friendly. All the people there were very friendly. There were lots of activities going on. It just had a nice, homey feeling. The rooms were average. They're nice. There is one drawback that had me concerned and that is the bathroom does not connect to the bedroom. You have to leave the bedroom to go to the bathroom, but otherwise, they're nicely appointed, the hallways and decor. It's just an average dining area. I have not had an opportunity to try their food. I hope to do that before I make my final decision, but they serve two meals a day, breakfast and dinner. They said they had an exercise room and a craft room. They had a full schedule of activities. It was a five-page printout they gave me of the activities for the week, ranging from exercises, walking groups, trips to the mall, trips to a special play, and all kinds of things going on. I have put my deposit down there, which is refundable.

Avalon Park was new. It hadn't been open even for a year when I went. It was very welcoming. The residents were out of their rooms and anxious to say hi. It was just overall very friendly and very clean. I just felt it would meet every need that I had. I could take my dog and that was important to me. The rooms had everything that I would need, too. It had a full kitchen with a dishwasher. It had a walk-in shower, a nice-sized bedroom, and a living room. The only thing I wish it would have had was more room for a table. There was room for a table, but it was a narrow table with two chairs. Still, I enjoyed it. It would have my own washer and dryer in there as well. Everybody was super friendly and made me feel very welcomed. They introduced me to the chef and I ran into the owner of Avalon Park, letting me know that he would be involved. He makes many visits to it to make sure everything is running as it should and that the residents are happy. The food smelled delicious.

My mother is in independent living at Avalon Park with assisted living additions, like things that she needs help with, but it's not a full-on assisted living place. It's a brand new community and she likes it. They do a lot of activities and there's a lot of personal care. We're really happy with it. Her room is nice. It has its own small kitchen with all the appliances and a big enough living room for her. She has her own separate bedroom and a large bathroom for wheelchair accessibility. They keep it very clean. They come into her room once a month to clean for her. They even have replaced carpeting that they weren't happy with and painted whenever they needed to. It's only two years old, so they're constantly upgrading. The dining room is nice. They have servers that come to their table and bring them their food. They try to make good meals for the people, but some people are just picky and they're not going to like whatever, but I think it's exceptional. Their staff is good. They're like family now. Sometimes the food might be a little spicy and some elderly people really can't handle that. They're always keeping them busy. Pricing is comparable to all other independent living.

We have just moved into Avalon Park. All the people are friendly. They have very good food. The staff is excellent. It's going to take time to know all the neighbors, but all the residents here are very friendly also. All the staff are great. We've met three of the staff, the waitresses and the kitchen staff. Everybody is very friendly and does their job. Their meals are excellent. They have numerous activities. It's just too many to mention. Every day there's loads of activities, so you can pick and choose or do them all. The value for the money is also excellent.
