My friend is staying at Pomeroy Living. I love going there. The people are just wonderful and so dedicated. I have never met a person there that I didn't really like. It's an incredible place. The dining area before the fire was really cool. It's just really been reopened now. The food is exceptional. The staff is just one of the happiest groups of people I've seen in a long time. They're very caring. My friend has some problems there, like he won't bathe regularly, and I love the way they handle it. The amenities are wonderful. There's a courtyard to walk into. A lot of games are being played. There are people that come there, like a sort of orchestra, and play music. My friend is very amenable to music, so he's very happy about that. The facility is relatively new. The interiors are beautifully done.

Wanted to share how compassionate and caring the nurses and aids were with my mother. Michelle and Erika treated my mom as if she was their own mother. They made her feel valued and cared for. They took the time to listen and befriend her during her short stay. Unfortumately my mother passed away unexpectedly, however Michelle and Erika stayed by her side and did everything possible to revive her. They prayed for her throughout as well as reached out with compassion and love to our family during this diffuclt time. They are God given caregivers and I so appreciated their efforts with my mom.

We moved my mom into Pomeroy Living - Rochester. She moved into assisted living last week and it's been very good, so far. It's small enough that they can take care of the patients. It's all one floor too which is what we were looking for. It's very clean, very nicely decorated and looks new. The staff, so far, has just been wonderful. She moved into a studio, but it's the biggest studio that we saw. There's a large bathroom and a dressing area, and then there's like a living room on one side and a bedroom on the other. There's a little kitchenette that has a sink, a counter and some cupboards, and a fridge. It has a lot of closet space and it's about the same size as many of the 1-bedrooms that we saw in different places. Because of Covid, we aren't allowed to eat with them or anything, but so far, my mother hasn't complained about the food. She seems happy that she doesn't have to cook and she's not complaining about the food at all so it must be okay. We are not allowed to eat where they're eating. There's no communal eating with outsiders because of COVID.

Do not send your loved ones to Pomeroy. Terrible care at a high price tag. They even charge a 3% processing fee for credit cards, and they didn't tell us about the fee until after they had charged it. Had we known about it we would have written a check. Nursing staff is nonexistent. When you push the nursing care button you can often expect a hour or more wait if they even show at all. All activities are shut down and the visiting hours are draconian. You have to make a reservation to visit the day before and you can only stay for 2 hours. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Pomeroy.

Pomeroy Living Rochester appears to be very nice. The staff is good. They've been very pleasant to me every time I call. For the most part, my mom is content there. She just doesn't like the size of the bed, but that's about the only complaint I've heard from her. She likes most of the food too.

Oakmont Rochester was a very high-quality building, but immediately I could see issues. There's only one price regardless of how much assistance you need, so my sister would have been paying just as much even though she didn't need any assistance. It's very clean, and the staff member who took me on the tour was OK. The place is large and fairly elegant in terms of the furniture and all, but it doesn't feel welcoming or warm. They have a sort of a game room where the residents play cards.

Horrible place. My dad was at Oakmont Rochester Assisted Living. Very unhappy with the care he received. They were not helpful when my dad was in hospice and did not work with the hospice caretakers effectively. My family and I had to oversee what they were doing.. As long as the person does not need much care it probably it is a decent facility.

The Oakmont Rochester community is very lovely and the staff is very nice. They have activities for the residents. My husband has a studio apartment which is ample for his needs. The size and cupboard space are enough. The food wasn't home cooking, but it's not that bad.

I understand the needs are great when it comes to what you can find in an assisted-living community. That said, there are a few things about Oakmont Rochester Assisted Living that stood out. For one thing, it was the cleanest, most up-to-date facility I have seen anywhere around the Detroit area. My mom lives in a very nice home, so getting him to move will be a hard sell. But this won't be as hard with this place. It feels like you are getting a lot for your money. Also, having gone through the day-to-day issues of the challenges facing seniors in assisted living, I know there are always concerns. But they did an excellent job of addressing my concerns and do seem very good at making sure things are taken care of.. I have seen bad communities;; this is, however, a very good, impressive community.

The memory care unit does NOT have enough staff to oversee the residents. My husband has fallen several times and has had to be hospitalized due to the lack of staff. They have an unbelievable turnover of staff due to the fact that the owners are notorious for underpaying. I would love to move my husband and will be looking into it as soon as possible.

Oakmonst Rochester has assisted living, memory care, and independent living. It was a beautiful, brand-new, and lovely facility. We met the director, and it was lovely. The dining room was small and brand new, so it was meticulously clean and very nice. They had a lovely theater area, salon, and chapel. It was clean, and they were doing some sessions with smaller group activities.

The staff is not friendly, it is assisted living but my dad hardly got any help. When he asked for help it seemed like it was a burden that he was asking. We moved my dad to another facility because of this.
