My mom moved into Sunrise of Troy. The room is adequate. The staff members are very good. The design looks fine, but I can't comment on anything else because due to COVID we can't go in. They seem to be caring people and they seem to look out for the residents. They're trying; they're doing one-on-one stuff, and they're doing what they can considering the circumstances.

I went to Sunrise of Troy. Honestly, I didn't like it very much at all. I think it was a good location, but I thought the rooms were very small. They were very depressing, and they felt a little crowded in there. There were multiple floors. They seemed to have a lot of activities and things like that. It's located in a nice area. The staff were very friendly, very nice, and very patient. I saw their salon, which was okay. I felt like a lot of the stuff at Sunrise was a little outdated, but it seemed clean.

I toured Sunrise of Troy. It was very nice, it was clean, and there were people keeping up with sweeping the trash that was around, so it was upkept. The staff that I met there was very upbeat and very helpful. They had everything ready for me. The dining room looked nice but I didn't get to sample any of the food. They have bingo, a lot of music, and they have a lot of people coming in for singing.

We are very fond of Sunrise of Troy and it is within our top 2. It had a very strict Covid protocol where you answer very extensive questions and had to take your temperature. I find that the facility is absolutely beautiful. It is very clean. The facility is located in a busy intersection but it has a lot of nature in the back, so I like that. Everybody we met there was very nice. They have a cat on the memory care side, which I like, and they used to have a dog in assisted living, which I love. I think that's just like a little piece of home for the residents who had animals. They also have lots of activities for their residents. The views of the rooms that we looked at were very pretty, looking out into the courtyard or the trees. The rooms that I saw had a small kitchenette with a built-in fridge, a microwave, and a sink.

I went to Sunrise of Troy. It was a nice facility, it looked like it had all the treatment my brother would have needed. Well, it was a nice facility, it looked like it had all the treatment my brother would have needed. I met a few of the staff, everything about the facility was good, and the living arrangements were good. The medical staff was good, they provided transportation to doctors, all of those things available to me, so they were all very nice. They have a living room area, a little kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom with a walk-in shower. The layout of the room was fine, pretty open, and well-lit. The rooms were nice. They had a dining area, which was a nice size.

I've spoken with Sunrise, and we visited Sunrise of Troy. I thought it was clean, well managed, and the people there seemed very helpful. I think it would be a good place for people to stay, if they needed to. We saw the assisted living area. They showed us a menu. We did not sample a meal, but they showed us a menu of afternoon snacks. It looked like food that I would like to eat. They introduced us to two or three different people, and they were nice. I thought it was well maintained. The rooms were a little bit small and bare. It did not feel like a home to me.

I was greeted and felt welcomed. The person I toured with was very knowledgeable and caring. All my questions were answered and then some. The facility was clean and orderly. The residents looked well kept and pleased to be there. This is a very hard decision to make especially when my father has the mind set that going to a "home" is a place to be forgotten and to wait to die. I have been encouraged by Sunset of Troy to bring my father in for lunch and a tour so he can see that assisted living is not a "home to go to and die"

Care is totally inadequate, food is cold, can wait for help over an hour. Talk to management and they infer you do not know what you are talking about. Staff are wonderful but overwhelmed, always short. Are looking for another place for Mom.

Care is inadequate due to understaffing. Food is usually cold, Most of the staff are wonderful, but overworked. Family not happy, but have little choice due to insurance.

We liked the Sunrise philosophy that your unit is your bedroom, and the rest of the facility your home, with the living room, dining room, game room, and craft rooms. It was very much alive with the residents being out of their units. They were together in the activities, talking with each other, and not holed up in their apartment. They have a beauty shop and a piano, and there are various sitting areas with TVs. They have crafts, movies, and snacks.

Sunrise of Troy has outstanding staff. Everybody is very personable. The facility itself is a little bit dated. It's very homey and decorated beautifully, but the carpeting and things could be refreshed a little bit. In the first hot days of summer, the first few times she used air-conditioning, it took a while to cool things down. When we first walked in, it smelled a tiny bit like urine, but upstairs out of the main living area or entryway, it all seemed fine and clean. The rooms are a bit small but the residents seem active. There appeared to be a lot of staff running around, which is great and gives you a good feeling of security that someone's always going to be there for your loved one. Their location is very comfortable, and the exterior of the building is very nice. The residents seemed a little older. I just wanted a younger crowd.

We chose Sunrise of Troy because of availability and timing. My mom and I had a difference of opinion. I thought it was more of a temporary thing of her needing some relief, and she didn’t want to do 24-hour care. We are hoping that my dad would try in-home care, and we knew she couldn’t handle it at home anymore, but we didn’t want to see my dad go into a facility. I am personally not satisfied with the area for my dad. They promote themselves as an assisted living facility with a memory care section, but I am not convinced about the memory care. My dad is fed well. The food is fine, and he has access to sitting in the kitchen. He didn’t transition well into the facility. We would have wanted to have more access to him. He was so ambulatory with walking, showering, and going to the bathroom but two days after my dad was there, he had a fall and ended up in the hospital. He has had six falls since he has been there. There are activities geared toward the assisted living and to people who are higher functioning and independent, so my dad can’t do them. He doesn’t do things without aid. The care is inadequate with a one to five ratio of staff to patients. The night help is not adequate with two staff at night and 23 residents. The staff is lovely but overworked. It’s kind of mismanaged, to be honest.

Sunrise of Troy's building was beautiful and lookd luxurious, but it was a façade. The people were stuck in small rooms.

We visited Sunrise and loved it. We saw different kinds of rooms, like one with two people, but they had a divider wall, and one like an apartment with a kitchenette, a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. They had a dining room, a movie room, and a hair salon. The people were really nice.

My dad is in Sunrise of Troy and I like the fact that it seemed really alive. There were a lot of activities and the residents were all very entertaining. The place just seemed to be a good fit for my dad. He could enjoy as much or as little as he wanted. There was a group of men in particular and they would do things like go out for lunch or do their own thing. There was a church group and some other things that he could enjoy more. But I think it was more of just a whole group of men that he could associate with. They had a studio with a little kitchenette and a living room where he could bring more of his own things there. Each person that I dealt with had a different job, so mostly everything that I was looking for answer-wise was being dealt with and if they couldn’t give me answer, they would direct me to the person who could answer my question.

Sunrise is smaller than some of the ones we looked at. The room that they had available was the right size and location for my mom. It had a bathroom and kitchenette, it's new and totally clean. The dining room is wonderful, and set up like a restaurant. The food is great, and they have good choices. The staff is compassionate and wonderful.

Sunrise was very nice. Everybody was very friendly. I didn't go in the room, I just went by the door, but they look fine and plain to me. They told me that they had activities, but I don't know what they are. If I could afford it, it would be very nice to live there.

Sunrise of Troy looked great. This place was clean. The staff seemed really nice and attentive. It was fine and everything but my mom and stepdad were looking for a two-bedroom place. They only have one-bedrooms. They don't have two-bedrooms there.

I like Sunrise, they're excellent but it was way too pricey, we couldn't afford it. You walk in and they really have all kinds of stuff. My mom was not needing as much assistance as most of the people at Sunrise. More people were in wheelchairs, walkers and more needy.

I felt the staff there was very professional and treated the residents with respect. In my opinion, they made significant efforts to put on events for the residents like bingo, movie nights, visits from local high school students, etc. I remember the nurses that cared for my grandfather came to his funeral and viewing and were very upset when he passed away. They were always kind to him even though he could be very grumpy and rude at times.
