Aspen Assisted Living is a new facility. The people who take care of the residents personally try to know everything about the way they live at home, so that they can cater to what they really need. They're trying their best because my uncle is really a difficult man to take care of. He doesn't want to be in assisted living, and they are making some slight adjustments for him. It's not that crowded because I don't want a place that is too crowded, and they may be agitated because they're private people. This place is quiet and there's not so many residents in there. They're trying to make my aunt do what she would like to do. A social worker told me that she helps them because some residents are crying and agitated. She sits down with the residents. They calm down, and she will approach the caregiver and say, "This is what she needs." I was so happy because she can still do the old things that she used to do even though she has dementia. They help them with dressing and medication. They're personally making a special effort. My uncle usually would drink a cup of wine, so I bring some wine. They observe what they're doing, so they know how to approach them. They also call me about how they're doing. They give me reports if I call them or sometimes they call back if I couldn't text them giving me updates. The unit they got has a living room, a bedroom and a toilet inside. They thought they were in a hotel. They're giving some tips every time they dine in, but the staff told me that they just get the money and then put it back into their room whenever they are out of the room. They have some people evaluating them on what level are they. They provide three meals and also some snacks. I told them what kind of food they eat, and they're trying their best to give the food that they need and want. It's very clean. They have a garden inside, and they have double lock doors. Before a resident can come out, they have an alarm system. That's why I know they are very safe. They cannot wander out of the facility and go to an open road. The activities are good. They say my aunt participates in bingo and pachinko. They have planting, painting and some games and they say they will make a mini golf for my uncle because that's what he wants. They create something for their residents that will be familiar with them. It's not that expensive and they give all the things that they need and the care.
