January 25, 2023 Provision Living Livonia: My experience with Provision Living Livonia (PLL) has prompted me to write this positive recommendation. From my first contact with the facility, I felt my informational fog start to clear. The sales director kept in contact with me from the very beginning of my search for an assisted living placement. She answered every question and concern then allowed me time to think and digest the information. I felt no pressure, only kind support. The director not only demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of the operations of PLL, she projected compassionate understanding of the residents, and provided calm, caring guidance for me. In allowing and encouraging my friend to spend a month of respite care at PLL, she let the facility speak for itself, affirming its commitment to the gentle care of its residents. Following the initial medical evaluation of my friend by the PLL nurse, I have had the opportunity to talk to her about relevant concerns. She has been most accommodating and informative. It gives me comfort to know someone with her qualifications and concern is on staff. Additionally, I have found that the workers I have encountered have all been friendly and helpful. Their kindness and respect toward the residents is visible and for that, I am both pleased and grateful. The facility is new and beautifully decorated. The lobby, offering beverages, fruit and pastries, is welcoming and the dining area has the appearance of a lovely restaurant. There is a full range of menu options with the breakfasts being "made to order." Residents are invited to participate is various activities, meet for movie days, and greet the therapy dogs that come to visit. The rooms/apartments are spacious and the private bathrooms are large enough to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. I strongly believe that Provision Living Livonia has been the best placement for my friend. She is being well-cared for and becoming more and more comfortable with her new home as the days go by.

Provision Living at Livonia was beautiful, newer, and modern. Their food menu had excellent choices. My father-in-law would have loved everything on there. He would have been very happy with that. The thing that I liked that the other place didn't have is Provision has an emergency response system. They have fall sensors. They have heat detection. If somebody is laying on the floor in an area they shouldn't be, that will advise them. Both places I toured include a push button necklace, but the heat detection and the fall sensors gave us peace of mind. It was all a single floor. They told me that there's a doctor there three days a week. There is a nurse on-staff. She works over 50 hours a week plus is on-call 24/7. They allow video cameras in your loved one's suite. Just make sure that there's a sign on the outside of the door to let people know that it's being recorded. My father-in-law was thrilled because he wants someone to be able to check on him and he wants family to know how he's doing. For me, those points were very important. We didn't meet as much staff there as we did at the other place, but when we came in, people greet you, and they're friendly. They offer you some cucumber water, which I thought was sweet. You can see a gentleman and his mom, I assume, doing a puzzle right there in the lobby. They took us into one of their rooms that had meeting facilities. We primarily dealt with the salesperson. As we walked through, they did have a craft class going on and we joked with them, "Here's the troublemakers," and people laughed. They were sweet. There were several men and women, which surprised me a little bit. They only had one studio room available. Even though this place is only three years old, they're already replacing the flooring. In the rooms, they're changing out flooring from carpeting to luxury vinyl plank. It's easier for wheelchairs and it's easier to clean up. It doesn't have staining. Seeing how much they were already looking for ways to improve their facility impressed me, like the bathroom layout, the ability to get your wheelchair in, all of that was very good quality. They had large closets. It definitely has a price tag, enough that it's a little breathtaking, but I think the quality that was there was very evident.

I toured Provision Living at Livonia. I think it was impressive. It was a newer building. It had an excellent floor plan as far as apartments, and the courtyard in the middle, which we liked a lot. Also, what stood them apart from all the others is that they had this special monitor that could detect a resident's movements and help if the person might fall or if there was maybe a heart problem while they're in bed that would record their heart rate. I thought that was a benefit that no one else provided. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was modern and clean. I liked the system that they had that nobody else had. It seemed like they had at least the activities, and I thought that was nice as well.

Provision Living at Livonia was quiet, small, very serene, and very inviting. It's by far my favorite. The rooms were clean and comfy. The staff was exceptionally helpful, clear, and concise. I never felt like she was trying to sell me on the place. She even told me about other options. She's very welcoming and friendly. They had activities planned, but I got the feeling that it was a quieter place. Probably the biggest amenity they have was a fall detection system.

Provision Living at Livonia was a very nice place. It's their one year anniversary of opening on March 17. The facility was topnotch. They had a calendar of activities that they gave me. The dining area was one seating. It didn't matter what time of the day, you could still get breakfast. The lobby had juice and water for them 24/7. Coffee was available all the time in another little room. It was one of the nicest places I've been to.

Provision Living at Livonia had the highest move-in fee. They are the newest facility that I visited there in Livonia. It was very nice, very accommodating, and had a lot of amenities. It has a nice feature for memory care as well as assisted living. It has a security system that's in the room that would be able to tell when a resident got out of bed at night, like to use the bathroom or if they are up roaming or whatever. It's not so much that you're spying on them. You could actually see the physical body of the person, but you could see a shadow, so you saw movements, which is nice for people if they're getting out of bed and you need to know why because the nurse is monitoring that, and then they can kind of say, 'Well, maybe Jane Doe is getting up four times through the night to go to the bathroom because she's starting with a urinary tract infection or something.' It also, I feel, makes them accountable. If they're noticing that someone's getting up and they're disoriented, then they can get in there right away and assist the resident even though the resident wears a pendant (if they're not going to push that pendant, but they might be in need of support of some way). That is a good feature for the facility to have. It is a little more costly, but having that feature is an advantage for people that have parents that are going into memory care or assisted living when they might need extra support. My mom is visually hearing and physically impaired, so she needs a lot of assistance and would need that feature if she got up and got disoriented in a new place having to learn a new place and not being able to see. They have a $3000 move-in fee. They consider it a homeowner's association fee somewhat that people would pay if they were moving into a condo facility or something. I think it's a turnover fee for painting, carpets and things like patching walls and stuff, so it kind of makes sense. It was a nice facility. You could reserve a room or do an activity or have a meal with people, and that's always a nice thing. It's close to my home as well.

I toured Provision Living at Livonia. This is a brand-new building, so everything's brand new. It is was very nice. I like the fact that Dad will have his own room. Where he is now, he's paying a lot more to have a roommate. I was pleased with that he will have his own room. The rooms were very nice and well-appointed. I like the fact that the cable and phone are included in the price and not an extra thing I have to worry about. The staff was very knowledgeable. Her name is Kim, and she's been helping me through the process the whole way. She has been very good. Everything looked good, but there were just a couple spots that didn't have grass yet. I was told that that would be started by the summertime. The dining area looks great and looks like a restaurant to me. They also pointed out that the have a hair salon there and a physical therapy area. It was good.
