I was impressed with Barton House. The tour experience was excellent. The woman who took us on the tour was very engaged in the patients and the staff. She was excited about where she worked and was able to answer all our questions. The activities were very good. They engaged the clients every day and had games. It's a small facility, so they know all the patients by name. They take care of your loved one from the moment they get through the door until the end of life. They all seemed very caring. The staff I got to meet were all smiling and enjoyed being there working. They encouraged the patients to socialize and be together. They have soothing music for 45 minutes every day, so its a quiet time. It looks like a home and not like a facility, which was another thing I liked about it. The meal preparation was clean; they wore gloves, and the food service was good. They offered several meals and snacks, so they don't overeat, but get adequate nutrition and hydration throughout the day.

I went to Barton House, and we’re very happy with it. We needed more personal care -- not just assisted living. It’s personal care; it’s more hands-on. It’s for my father. He is happy there. It’s been a week now, and he loves it. The staff is wonderful. They’re all wonderful. Every time I go back there, they’re all in good spirits. My dad is a little confused, but then he quickly found that this is the place he wants to be. They have a couple of dogs and a cat. He is happy there. Food is good. He seems to be happy with the food.
