I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was discharged to home He smelled bad took off incontinent wear and his buttocks was full of bed sores. This is suppose to be a safe, loving, caring , protective and responsible facility for their patients. Unfortunately this is not a place to put your loved one in.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I would like to begin my review with how overly pleased and blessed I am to have my mother at a place she calls her home. My mother has been a resident at Washington Healthcare since 2018. She suffers with many health issues. As a single caregiver it became overwhelming to try and handle her on my own. I made a visit to this facility due to a program they were having for the residence in 2017. The moment I walked in I knew if I ever needed a place for my mother this would be the place. Sadly, I had to make that decision after caring for my mother for 8 years and each day becoming overly concerned about her well being, safety, and health around the clock. Since my mother's stay I have seen nothing but growth and love. I realize it has been very hard on everyone since the pandemic hit our world. I began to really worry how this would affect my mother and our visitations. Although visitations were stopped during the time the pandemic began the staff made sure I was able to see my mother. A window visit or face time call, she always knew I was there for her. The staff made sure of it. Staffing did lower when the pandemic hit, but I must say the staff that remained showed excellence during their demanding hours of work. Double time, over time what ever the time they never missed a beat. With new staffing at Washington Healthcare, I remain super pleased and it's now the year 2021. Shout out to the Social Worker for keeping me informed and hearing all my concerns if any and attending promptly to whatever is needed. Shout out to nursing staff who also hear my concerns and help me understand my mother health changes. Shout out to the new head nursing director for the kind open door policy she has given also for any concerns or questions I may have. Shout out to the housekeeping staff. I have never seen floors shining and glowing as much as I do here at this facility. Shout out to all food services,CNA's, activity department. To ALL who give their time to make sure the residence are taken care of. I can leave my mother here with ease and assurance that she is in the best hands even during the pandemic. I know this review is very lengthy, but I must give this review because it is very important that people see this is a place where you can leave your loved ones and go home in peace knowing they are in the best hands.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My very difficult father was admitted to this facility recently for physical therapy rehab following an illness. He was treated with excellent care by staff member who was assigned to him. Rehab staff was excellent! Social services was excellent! Nursing staff was excellent!

Other

The upkeep is so so , staffing a little scarce. But my biggest turn off was hearing the receptionist be belligerent with someone on the phone. She was almost yelling at the person and said something to the effect that "there is a problem on your end"! I looked at her and her face was beet red but when she saw me she hung up on whoever she was talking to. And when the phone rang again she did't pick up. I don't know if she was taking a personal call or what. And I hope to God it wasn't a resident or family of. But I just know that it left me feeling very uneasy that she would act in this manner at her place of work and then cover it up by hanging up on the person and then ignoring a phone call. What if the second call was a different person and a very important one? To top it all off she either detected the surprise on my face or is just rude to everyone because she didn't speak only stared when I tried to smile cordially as I was leaving. Not coming back here!

I am/was a resident of this facility

Terrible place, do not put a loved one here. Food is really bad and is served cold. Bed sheets have big holes in them and TV doesn't work very. Very slow at answering the call light. CNA's sit on their butts at nurses station and play with their phones. Most of the CNA's have an attitude but others are very kind. The therapists are very good but therapy only lasts an hour a day and is not available on the weekend.

I have a friend who is lives here. The staff is always very kind and takes very good care of her. The facility is clean and there seems to be a positive attitude among everyone.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My sister likes Washington Health Care Center. Everything is AOK and she seems to be comfortable there. The facility is always clean and adequate. She is in a room with another patient. She loves the food there. The staff seems to be on the ball. However, as a whole, I just don't think this facility is all that great. They let her atrophied and they didn't do anything about it. I didn't see anything really bad, but it would be difficulty without the help of probably a couple of people to help her get out from the bed itself.

Not a good experience

I recently visited my mother who was admitted to the facility. I arrived during her physical restorative therapy time. I was perturbed to see the caregiver on her cellphone text messaging whomever. I watched from around the corner and as I came in the room, she put it up and started attending to the patients who were all in a circle doing nothing. Not sure of her name. She was short with short hair
