"We toured Summerset Senior Living of Reno. It was very clean. The staff was very nice. We didn't have any meals there. It's up to date, but it's more than we could afford. What we needed was a two-bedroom and two-bath, and the only thing they had open was a one-bath."

"My parents are in Brookdale Sparks. It's very, very nice. There's a lot of plants and fountains. It's just very homey. It has a really nice energy because of the plants, and it's very clean. It's an older facility, but it's very well-kept. All the staff are very nice. It's been just a really good experience so far. They have just hired a new kitchen director, so they were without one. The executive director was providing help with the kitchen. So there were some issues with that. They say one thing on the menu, and then they don't get that for the night time. I'm hoping that that's going to clear up now once they hired this new chef. As far as the dinners, they have set times now to eat because of the COVID. My dad said that the only thing he is not pleased with (and it's because of the COVID) is that he doesn't have a lot of time to eat because they have a set time to be in the dining room. They do three phases of dinner, and three phases of lunch and breakfast. He eats very slowly, so that was his only complaint. They do bingo, movies, happy hour, puzzles, and they have chair yoga upstairs. They have transportation to go to the grocery store and to the pharmacy. My parents have a 2-bedroom unit. We have to bring in additional help, because they chose not to go to assisted living. They have a beauty shop upstairs."

"We toured and it was wonderful, and we really enjoyed it. I's clean, old, but it's fine; it's not bad. The people who gave us the tour were great, they showed us everything, they have a community kitchen, they have game rooms, lots of different tours, three meals a day, and they have pretty much all the amenities. We though it was pretty nice. The dining area was very nice, the food was fine, it was not gourmet, but it was fine. They play all kinds of games, and they were involved in some kind of a game when we were there. I just wish it was a little more modern."

"I have been a resident of Vintage At Sanctuary for a year now. I'm on the second floor, and they have elevators to get up here. They don't provide meals. They provide a lot of activities for seniors though. We have card games three days a week. We have cooking lessons. We have bingo once a week. My unit is pretty roomy for an apartment. It's a one-bedroom. They have studios and one bedrooms, too. The area is not very good. It's got a lot of homeless people and it's just not one I want to go to alone at night. Also, the management here isn't that great."

"Five Star Premier was one of the few in Reno that has a two-bedroom apartment. Also we got several friends that lived there at different times. They just put in a bar in; they had happy hour. They have quite a few different activities. They have an exercise room too. They have a lot of trips to the surrounding community. One thing that my wife is interested in is that they have a hair salon, which is a big thing for her. Their apartments were not as big as we like, but there's nothing like it in Reno. The facility was well-maintained. I would recommend them. "

"Promenade on the River is a beautiful place. The rooms are very, very nice, very well thought out, and beautifully maintained. It is absolutely first class. What it does not have is any guest parking, and that could be a serious concern because it's only on-street parking. It's a residential area, though, and you may or may not find a spot. You may have to walk several blocks instead, and that's difficult. It would be not a good place to try to find a parking space at night. There really aren't any grounds. It's just a building, but it's beautiful, and it has every kind of amenity. It's a well-established place. It's not too big, but without guest parking, that's an issue for me. They have a swimming pool, a hot tub, and various gathering places that are very attractive. They have two restaurants: a casual one and a more formal one. The surroundings are just impeccable; they're to my tastes. They're traditional and the color schemes are lovely. The building dates to 2002, and most of the staff have been there the entire time, which really says a lot. The one other thing besides no guest parking is most of the rooms, at least the affordable ones, have no balcony and no outdoor space to themselves. Most of the new places, as I read online, have either a balcony or a patio, but this place does not. They have eighty-three apartments, and they're all independent. There's no medical care provided by the facility at all. it's exactly what I wanted."

"I saw Vintage Hills about three years ago. I like that the staff was very friendly. The location is excellent because it was right across the street from Walmart, Save Mart, and a dollar store. The thing also that I liked about this facility is that they were not that keen if I had a cat if I would live there. "

"Vintage At The Crossing is closer to my son. My son has to take me places, so it's just easier for him to get to. The location is very good; I wouldn't be afraid to go out there. They have two bedrooms, but I'll be moving into a one-bedroom. It's a very nice property. The elevators are a nice size. They are twice as big as the ones where I'm at. The staff are very helpful. They have the same activities that we have here, only more. They have a library, a movie theater, and a large exercise center. It has a better atmosphere, and it feels more comfortable."

"I've been in MorningStar of Sparks for several years. I think it does very well. The buildings are well-maintained, and the apartments are a nice size with big bathrooms and lots of closets. They also have covered parking and quite a few activities, like bingo, and they take us places every other week like to the parks, casinos, to shows. You have to sign up and go. They have a medic three days a week where they take you anywhere you need to go, and if you need to go more than five miles, they charge you for that. The staff overall is great, but they have a lot of turnover and if they have the same people all the time that would have been better. I understand it's pretty standard here, but it would be nice to know the same people and so forth. The dining room is a big open area. The building is four stories high, and they have the main library on the second floor, which is a good size and well-taken care of. They also have a smaller library on the first floor by the coffee shop, and another one in the third and fourth floor and in the assisted living. They've got lots of books around for people to read."

"We toured Vintage at Spanish Springs. I didn't like it because, for one, they don't feed you. Number two, it looked too sterile. It was more like living in a prison. I didn't care for it. The lady who gave us a tour was all nice. It was cheaper than living here, but I didn't like it, and they had a weight room and exercise room."

"Cascades of the Sierra looks more elegant, newer, and prettier. They have a swimming pool and an exercise facility, and it seems more upscale. They have multiple dining rooms. We had a luncheon there once, and the food that I sampled was good. The price was a bit expensive. "

"My mother was well taken care of at Sierra Place. She really enjoyed her stay. The facility was very clean. There were a lot of different activities and the food was really good. They had people come in to sing, like choirs, and they have a wine night where people gather around the piano and drink wine and sing. They have movie nights. They have orchestrated trips, where they only pay $5 and they go to a movie, casino, lots of different places. My mother was in a one-bedroom apartment, which had a nice balcony overlooking the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It had a little kitchenette and a dining room, nice living area, and a handicap bathroom, and a bedroom. The staff all seemed very encouraging and very kind to the people they are taking care of. They will come and escort you down for your meals, or they can bring you a tray of food into your apartment. They were very accommodating. They served snacks in the afternoon. They have Arts and Crafts Club too, and there is an exercise room in the facility. "
