We chose Cascades of the Sierra because it was close to our residence, and they had more options for my mom. She has been there for probably a week now. It's well put together like access to everything and stuff like that in the building. Dining is kind of restaurant style, so you can have a choice. You can order off the menu. They have a list of activities like an itinerary board for month-to-month. But my mom has just moved in and we're still trying to figure out how everything works. The nurses seem fine so far.

I moved into Cascades of the Sierra. It's got a nice atmosphere and nice people. My apartment is small but comfortable. The food has been very good. They have a workout gym, a beauty shop for hair and nails, an art studio, 3 libraries, some common rooms, and a real bar.

The Cascades of the Sierra was beautiful. It's nicely decorated, pleasant, and has a lot of open areas. There are a couple of dining rooms, a fitness center, and a movie theater. It's just top-notch. The memory care residents seemed to be pretty happy. When I came in, they were meeting together in a common area and several of them waved at me and said hello. So. they're very responsive. They weren't highly drugged or anything like that. I volunteer once a month on a Sunday there. We have a ministry, and so I'm acquainted with several of the residents. I know a gentleman from memory care who seems to be able to get around and interact pretty well. That was encouraging that they don't just keep them confined to one place. The staff is very helpful from my volunteer experience, from the tour I had, and from meeting with the contact person. They have a wonderful program where they do activities every week. It's expensive, but I think you get a lot for that if you take advantage of all the things they've got there. I call this place 'the country club' because it's just above and beyond. I know people that have been there or had their relatives there and they were all very pleased.

Management of this facility is non existent and non communicative with residents. Wellness care staff are great as are the food service staff I spite of being woefully understaff. Lip service with many broken promises by management makes it a very frustrating experience to live here. Many residents complain but little is done to correct the issues.

My mother is in Cascades of the Sierra. It's been a very positive experience placing her there. The people have been very helpful. The pricing was very competitive. They just offered a lot of amenities for us. They have included in the price, their meals, their utilities, cable, wi-fi, room cleaning, garbage removal, laundry, and transportation to events. They have a beauty salon, an exercise room, a theater room, a bar, great rooms, a pool, and lovely landscaped outdoor areas. She got a one-bedroom. Right now, they're starting to do some more stuff.

We chose Cascades of Sierra. They had the services that we were interested in. They also had availability. There was no waiting line to get in. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They have Independent living and assisted living. They had a single bedroom, and they had a strange one where there were two bedrooms together (that was in the memory unit). We got a two bedroom. They have several activities, and they just did a community wide survey of other activities that people would like to add. They're grading their activities. They showed us the dining room, the exercise facilities, and some courtyards for just walking around and getting outside. We saw the crafts room, poker players, and the bar. It's close to a lot of places that those of us who are still independent go to (shopping, places to eat, or exercise places). It's not a radical change from where we are now.

My mother loves Cascades of the Sierra. There are a lot of activities. The staff is really friendly. She's real happy to be coming out of the COVID restrictions. Her apartment is about 900 square feet, so it's got kind of a great room concept. She likes that it's very spacious. It's a one-bedroom, has two bathrooms (which I don't know why because that's kind of waste of space). It's very open. They got a library, a pool, a gym, a theater, and a beauty parlor. They play poker, blackjack, beanbag baseball, Wii bowling, and bingo. The food has kind of gone downhill since Covid. I think they've had trouble keeping chefs lately, but it used to be a 5. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. They have buses and vans go out and take them to their doctors. Before COVID, they were taking them out to Walgreens and Costco and stuff like that. They haven't resumed that yet.

The employee at Cascades of the Sierra was very friendly. The apartment that they showed me at the facility was very nice. It had a full kitchen in it, which was very nice. I have not tried the food, but I got a copy of the menu. They work their system a little bit differently than some places do. They give you a $500 credit every month, and then they give you a list of prices of the food that you want to eat. You may eat one, two, or three meals a day, or you can fix your own meal in your own apartment because of the full kitchen, which I thought was very nice.

My father is staying at the Cascades of the Sierra. It's independent, assisted, and memory care. They halted a lot of the activities because of COVID. You can go down and still play cards, but you are limited to the number of people that can be in a group. The family can see him through the window, but we can't go in. They just opened their dining room. There are a lot of things that are still pending for opening, and we can't physically give him a hug or anything, but we see him on a weekly basis. They're really good.

My mother moved into Cascades of the Sierra. We chose it because of the level of care, and they have a registered nurse there 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The staff is very accommodating. It's been great. The place is very clean and welcoming. The lunch we had was very good. The dining area is really high class with tablecloths, and the staff is very professional. They have bingo, they had a bluegrass band that came and played for the residents, an exercise room, a pool, different arts and crafts, and they go on outings. It's an all out five-star place.

The Cascades of the Sierra was very nice, but a little bit more expensive than the others. It was large, there was not as much sunlight, and it was dark inside. We were looking at independent. The interior of the apartment was nice, but it was a little bit smaller than the apartments we looked at in the other place. We ate lunch there, and it was OK.

Cascades of the Sierra was fairly new. The people I talked to were very friendly and helpful. It's a large place, and the studio was adequate, nice, got nice windows, and you furnish it any which way you like. The dining area was big, like a restaurant, and they had a couple of different ones. They had bingo, entertainment, live music, movie theater, exercise classes, yoga class, and take them out to shopping nearby. It's a very nice place.

Cascades was homey, beautiful, and supplied an amazing lunch. They had a barbeque area, a swimming pool for the grandkids, and a huge patio where my mom could wander around and not get out. There were a lot of art classes she could join. I really thought that they were nice, the guy that took us around was very informative, and it felt good in there. The lunch was nice, the tables were set, and I think they had a chef. They supply the bedroom furniture, and that was nice. Everybody gets the same setup.

Last week my mom moved into Cascades of the Sierra. It is very nice and very modern. They have a lot of different apartment sizes and types. They have the nicest facilities with the best, modern amenities, exercise and physical therapy. The pool has a ramp in it and it has a water wheelchair for that kind of thing. They have the nicest lawn and the nicest pool. They're all designed for seniors with zero-entry tub shower areas, wide doorways, and easy access areas to parking walkers. The list of activities is so big too. There are so many different things happening everyday. The food is phenomenal and made with lots of fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. There are so many varieties. It feels like you're dining in a nice restaurant. They're also the only one that offers a diabetic nursing program. Cascades of the Sierra has great activities and probably has the most robust help in the assisted living level.

The Cascades of the Sierra was very modern and very well-appointed. They are both independent and assisted. The rooms were clean and looked very new. I don’t recall if you were required to bring your own furniture or not, but I believe you had an option.

Cascades of the Sierra was a very well laid out place. It was all in one large building and not individual houses. They had large two-bedroom units with full kitchens. They seemed to have lots of activities. They had extremely friendly people. They had nice dining room and good food. We very seriously considered it.

Cascades of the Sierra is a little bit cheaper than other places, but it's a nice place. Cindy was adorable and as sweet and helpful as can be. She's French and my mom speaks fluent French, so they got along great. I don't like that if my mom goes over a certain amount for food, we get charged extra every month; I think that's a terrible idea. They have prices on their menus, which I don't like. When we were there, they said we could order whatever we want, so my husband ordered the steak and then they came back and said they didn't have it. My mom was embarrassed for us and felt that they were not telling the truth or that we were taken advantage of. My mom has been wealthy all her life and very snooty, so she loved the tablecloths and the cloth napkins. The place was beautiful, and the rooms are way nicer than others, beautiful and spacious and have their own washer and dryer built in.

Cascades of the Sierra is my top choice. The rooms were small but were like hotels almost. The place is very clean, and the food is good. I talked to one lady who said she intends to stay there. The staff who toured me around was very nice.

Cascades of the Sierra looks more elegant, newer, and prettier. They have a swimming pool and an exercise facility, and it seems more upscale. They have multiple dining rooms. We had a luncheon there once, and the food that I sampled was good. The price was a bit expensive.

Cascades was a very beautiful place, but it’s out so far from anything that you have to get a car to go anywhere. They had two restaurants, gave you a budget of $500 to eat, and had a regular menu that you choose from. They had fillet mignon at $19.95, so you would literally eat up $500 in a short time, so I didn’t like the setup. The rooms were fine, and the staff that took us around was very nice. The pool was wonderful; I would have loved to stay there for the pool. They had many amenities and a bar, and the people were more active.

Cascades of the Sierra is a very beautiful place on the inside. It has a swimming pool with warm saltwater and is completely covered. The staff is excellent. The rooms are big and the whole place is well managed. Davis, the manager, runs the place with an iron fist. It's absolutely immaculate. The woodwork is nice and has a very lodge-like feeling. It's not what you think of for a senior community. It's high-class. When we were there, my husband and I liked playing cards. They also have bingo and a little golf putting area. Their exercise room is huge and has staff all day that help you with the exercise equipment and rehabilitation.

Mom was at Cascades of the Sierra when she was still alive. The place was always nice and clean. Everything was amazing. Their staff was amazing, as well as. The food was great. It was beautiful. They have their own apartments, and everybody was great. She was there for four years.

We placed my mom in the Lodge, and it is the memory center of the Cascades. It is very pleasant, but my mom is having a very hard time adjusting, so we are working with her doctors and seeing that we are able to help her with maybe medication, so that she won't be so upset, and the nurses and the staff have been very supportive. Both my brother and I are very pleased with the facility at this point. They do games or activities almost daily, but this is a problem that we are having because she keeps refusing everything. They are trying to work with her to see if they can just get her to participate a little, but it is just a very tough situation. A couple of times I had left a message for them to call, and they haven't always called me back, but most of the time they call me back, and when I do get hold of the nurses because I am not able to get there every day, they are always very informative and try to help in whatever way they can. The director is always very involved, and I find that a plus. This is a retirement, assisted, and memory facility, so it has all three in one, and when you see the director on-site and on-hands with everything, to me it is an important thing that she is involved with them, and I think that is why the facility does well all the time. A couple of times they didn't return my call, but when I did get a call back, they apologized because they were very busy and, in a way, it is important that they are taking care of the patients rather than being on the phone, but the staff at the Cascades has been very good. They understand, and when I've been there, they try in every way that they can to help me with my mother's situation.

Cascades of the Sierra was a very beautiful place. The staff took us around and showed us the rooms. A couple of low-end rooms had a small kitchen, 1-bedroom, and a sizable living room. What we saw was completely furnished, so everything looked nice. The small one looked like a studio apartment for a college kid, and then the big-end had still a 1-bedroom, but the bedroom had a nice walk-in closet. The meal was a Sunday brunch, and it was phenomenal. My dad had the cod; he loved it, and I had pancakes. It seemed to me that there were no distinct isles in the dining room. The tables weren’t set up for people with walkers; there were no straight paths in and out into the food. They do a lot of trivia for the brain, but there is a workout gym. They also have drivers; I think that people get taken to certain places in the area.

The Cascades of the Sierra is fairly new, and that was the best of any of them. It had all kinds of stuff going on. Wednesday was for bridge, and Tuesday was for pinnacle; and it went on and on with all kinds of stuff. They had very nice apartments. It not only had a full kitchen and then it had a washer and dryer in every single facility. They priced me right out of business; there is now way I could stay there. They had separate dining rooms and all that stuff, swimming pools; they got everything. If you got the money, that is the place to go.

I've been in the memory care and walked through the building. They are actually across the highway from where I live. I ran into some people I know who live there. Very friendly. All the people that I've come in contact with as far as the staff have been cheery and helpful. The people who were around to visit their relatives were real talkative and very relaxed. I think the place is neat. All the staff ask, "Do you need any help?" or "Can I help you find something?" If you want to wander around, they don't seem stressed about it either. I get a nice feeling. There was a lot of activity -- a lot of people moving around. A couple of times I walked through some exercise classes for people who are not as mobile. They were in wheelchairs in one of the living room seating areas. There were seated exercises. There are a couple of little small shopping centers they could walk to probably half a mile away. They do have also transportation and a little bus. They have swimming exercises, too. It's like being in this really neat hotel. They have a restaurant bar or a breakfast bar. There were people who were having coffee and there was someone having scrambled eggs. I'd stop and talk to them. While I was talking to these people, somebody came to the refrigerator and got some juice out. From what I saw, they were private rooms and each had its own decoration. One of them had a really bright pink comforter and some stuff on the walls, so I think they can personalize their rooms. They have apartments, too -- that was the independent living area. The building is 3 stories tall and there are a couple of different wings.

Cascades of the Sierra really stood out. The rooms were roomy, and it was convenient in the way it was laid out, almost like your own place. Nice kitchens. It was very expensive. The staff was very nice, very friendly, very helpful. We had food and it was wonderful. They have exercises. They have their own beauty salon, everything that you could possibly want. They play bingo, games, and cards. Everything was very nice, very well put together. We just liked the atmosphere of Cascades.

We found a place for my mother-in-law at Cascades of the Sierra. It's a beautiful facility, and it is also very clean. It offered a lot of things for the residents. They do different types of exercise and swimming. They also have crafts. I know somebody comes in, and they do singing with an accordion. My mom-in-law has one bedroom, and it has a very nice, big bathroom. It also has a little kitchenette with a refrigerator and a microwave. The restaurant is excellent, and the food is good. It's just a wonderful place.

I like the Cascades of the Sierra, but it turned out not to be exactly what I thought it was. It’s clean, but it’s very expensive for what you get. The rooms have different sizes. The staff is nice, but they’re real pushy. They want to get a deposit real fast. It was just usual food, but if you eat too much, you have to pay more money. I just couldn’t believe it. They tell you all this is included, but it’s not really. They said they do have activities. After I really looked at it, I realized what it was really like.

I found a place for my mom. It's called Cascades of the Sierra. It's really close to me. My mom is independent but she still likes when I'm there all the time. I can be there at the drop of the hat, so that's why I picked that one. Also this one seems to work out okay for us. My first impression of it was that it was like a hotel or a stationary cruise ship, it's really nice. The staff seems good. Everyone remembers their residents' names, so that always makes it nice. Regarding accommodations, my mom first went into their assisted living room. It was a small one-bedroom unit. It only had a kitchenette. It did have microwave and a refrigerator and a small sink. She was very unhappy there. She then moved into a regular independent apartment. It's about 400 to 500 square feet. It's a very nicely laid out apartment. The kitchen is bigger than the condo that she moved from, so that's really nice. It has everything that you would need in an apartment. It has nice big window in the bedroom and the living room. There is a sliding glass door to go out onto a patio.

My mother will be moving into the Cascades of the Sierra this coming October. We decided on this community because it has everything. Also, my mom likes the apartment a lot. Their apartments don't smell like an old person. We went to another facility before this one and their rooms smelled like antiseptic. The staff working in Cascades is amazing. The residents living there are great. My mom can easily make friends with the independent living people and she can still eat with them even if she goes in the assisted living. Their facilities are not segregated like some other facilities I visited. I don't like that. I would definitely tell others about this place.

My friend will be moving to the Cascade of the Sierra. Everything is really excellent. The facility is gorgeous and clean. The people that we deal with are really good. The have two excellent restaurants. They even have small bars with televisions. There are several different beautiful areas throughout the complex, where you can relax and read. They have a patio and a pool.
