My mom was a resident of HearthSide Towne Lake. There is nothing that I can say negative about it. They were very, very good to her. It is just a nice place to live. They have activities for the seniors, and everyone that lives here enjoys it. The manager is fantastic. My mother didn't participate, she stayed to herself and did things with me. But I know that I have a little gym here and they were always having things for the people here. They have a small gym, a beauty salon, a library, and a media center. They do not provide meals; you do your own meals. They have a fantastic area where you can have parties with your family in the very front of the building. Of course, you have to do a reservation for it, but it's a nice area with a piano. The area down there is with granite countertops, and I would rate that as a 5.

This is a beautiful facility. The staff is friendly, always going above and beyond. There is lots to do, galas, tour of homes, trips, cards, movies, gardening, the list goes on. All of the residents I have met have been extremely friendly and want to include everyone in what's going. It's a great place to live!

These apts are government subsided. The process to be approved is a very very lengthy, drawn out, stressful, demeaning endeavor that strips you of all financial privacy. Although it is supposed to be for active seniors 62+ the average age of actual residents is 85+ who are pretty feeble requiring walkers or canes to get around. It would be a great place for your very elderly parent who can still live independently but if you personally are in your 60s or 70s and looking for your own place I'd steer clear of this place. Nice management, beautiful facility and great location that attracts primarily the very very elderly. No real walking paths.

They still go through maintenance staff regularly. They only keep them for a few months at a time - some kind of sketchy system they have going on there.

My Mother has been a resident of Hearthside for about 6 months. We originally moved her into a 1 bd/1 ba awaiting a 2 bd unit. The 1 bd unit was very nice and she was on the first floor so this gave her outside access. We moved her into a 2 bd/2 ba unit this month when it became available. Both units are very nice and since the community is gated she feels safe. You must have a fob to get into the gate and into the building. Hearthside at Woodstock residents vary in age but I think you have to be 62 to be a resident. A few residents still work but I think the median age would be about 75. The property is very well maintained and the office staff is attentive and kind. They have a game room where they play cards, a movie room, fitness room, library and several other activity rooms. It seems they have some activity going on everyday. Inside the units you will find a full size kitchen and a very spacious master bath. The spare bedroom and bath are very ample in size and the bedroom closets are walk in. There is a lot of storage space. We are very happy that Mother is a resident there. Even though it is an independent living senior apartment and no assistance is given, we feel she is safe and there are many eyes looking out for her welfare. She no longer has the burden of lawn care or home maintenance. She is happy and said she feels like she is home.

When these apartments first opened, they were very, very nice. However that has changed. They keep going through maintenance people. Every time I look up I see new maintenance staff. Hallways are very dirty, stains all over the carpet, cracked floor tiles. You can't sit outside. There are so many dogs and the smokers occupy every area. I don't participate in any of the amenities, since I still work. But I hear that they are great. Overall I feel this is a great place for people in their 70s and beyond. However being at the lower end of the age scale, It reminds me of an old folks home. I feel that I should've waited a few years before moving to a place like this, as I am still very, very active. I am very disappointed that after living here for just two years my rent jump from $745 per month to $838 for a $90 increase in one in less than a year. On top of that I got very little notice of the price increase. That hurts because when I moved here, I was advised that rental increases would be around 10.00 per month per year. This 90.00 increased makes it hard when the budget is already very tight. You could say I'm a very disappointed woman. Overall this is a very nice neighborhood, and I would love living in a place like this ten years from now.

Hearthside is brand new and had a lot of facilities. It has a nice size apartment with big bedrooms and wide doorways. They have fitness, movie nights, bridge clubs, parties and Wii bowling. The staff is excellent which is the best thing for me. They have continental breakfast but we can cook in our own apartments. The food is very good. I'm very happy here.

Hearthside has everything in one building. They had things available to make a community setting, which was nice. It's very new. The rooms were very small but they're well lit with nice windows and some even had little balconies. Downstairs they had a very nice area for games and other activities. One thing I don't like about this place is that they don't have a dining room, so you had to do your own cooking or go out to eat.
